I sent the save game files. And yes, I do have a lot of resources being mined by maxed out starbases. I guess this might explain things. Hmmmm. This does seem a little off balance though, doesn't it? And what about the economic sliders. I don't think I should be able to tax a population 100% and my morale stay at 100%... for all planets!

WOW! And right now I have a Class 93 planet and many others in the 60-80 range!!! I didn't think this was possible. Is it supposed to work that way? Did it work like that in the last builds?
I wasn't trying to say that "good" was the "right" direction or way to play. It is just that if I wanted to play a good empire, right now there is nothing to draw me in to play that way. In fact, I've played at least my last 5 games with a "red" border. I've played this way because it afforded me the best opportunity to win and there is no "apparent" drawback for playing this way. If I knew there was some "golden halo" to strive for, I would be willing to put up with all the
Right now I am in a game where I have the economy settings at 100%Tax, 100%Spend, and I am still taking in over 4500 credits a turn! Also, when I go to purchase anything, no matter what payment plan I use, the amount I have to pay each month is 0!!!! Obviously I take the cheapest one! What's going on here? I know I am a pretty good leader... but this might be pushing it a little. I am in a gigantic galaxy, year is 2196. I've had the tax and spend rates set like t
I've already posted this in another thread but I didn't want it to get lost in the discussion- What are the advantages of becoming a "good" empire anyways? I think there should be some major long term bonuses if you become a "good" empire. Every immediate choice you have to make that seems to benefit your empire moves you toward the "evil" status. I think there should be a big payoff for making those "hard" choices that actually harm your empire but are "morally" correct.

I like the flagship idea! :CONGRAT: So can we get this feature implemented sometime tonight yet? ;p
I've crashed to desktop in my current game a couple times. It seems to happen right after another race contacts me. Sorry for no SmartException report. I still can't get it to run. Yes, even after using the link Frogboy gave in the Get SmartException post. Any help getting it going would be appreciated. Beta 3D seems to crash on me more than the others. Thanks
The use of money to purchase the ship is not the problem. The problem is a new colony would not have the ability/infastructure to create a large spaceship in one month. I could understand purchasing a ship for the colony and it would be created on a colony that is well established, But then it would take a little time for the transport of the ship. Not one turn.
Wish there was an edit option in this forum. I suppose I better read my post a little more before hitting the submit button! :notsure:
I am also excited about MOO3. But I am just as excited about GalCiv. Each has it's own style and I find each to be enjoyable(previous MOOs at least). I do wonder what effect MOO's release date will have on the success of GalCiv. The market for strategy space games is relatively small compared to others types of games. And MOO does seem to have very dedicated following. I hope those that purchase MOO will give GalCiv also give GalCiv a try. This might be a strech though, given the
I tend to to agree with Jean-Claude's last post. If you have the finances, there is nothing stopping you from creating the most expensive and time intensive ship on a planent that has just been colonized by using the purchase button. Maybe a time limit before a planet is allowed to use the purchase button?
SmartException is not working for me then. I ran it once and I was told to restart the computer for it to take effect. Did so, but no icon in the system tray. Any ideas? BTW- Not at home computer right now so I cannot try anything till later.
How is SmartException supposed to work? I have it installed, but I am not sure what I am supposed to do with it when I encounter a problem. Any help would be appreciated.
These are the first two crashes I have had with beta 3. It has been very stable for me up to this point. The game I am in right now is on a gigantic galaxy and it is very late in the game. Hope this gets cleared up. I would really like to finish this one. ;)
Happened again. Same game. Different things happening I think. Crashed right to desktop. Here is the end of the debug file for this one. Debug Message: Displaying News Event. DSL Baby- Bring it on! At 12:01 am please!!!!!! :CONGRAT:
What time tomorrow? I don't suppose it would be like 12:01am? It would make my day if it was! I am leaving this weekend and would love to get a chance to try it out tonight! If not, I guess I can wait. (:(
Arturus- Maybe I'm wrong about HOMM. Haven't played it much since HOMM 3. But I thought there was a button you could press to say you were done with a hero. Then, if you changed your mind, you could go back, select the hero, and use the rest of the hero's movement points. Age of Wonder II has a "done" button and does exactly what I would like to see. It tells the computer that you are done working with that unit and move to the next. If you happen to cylcle through units i
BTW- The space bar is helping me quite a bit in my current game. Thanks!
Ahh, the space bar. Almost as needed, but not quit. If I use the space bar, this effectively reduces my movement points to 0. I would like the option to change my mind and use the available movement points the ship should have if I find I have a use for the ship in my strategy. Lucky Jack- I think you missed what I was trying to accomplish with my original post. I don't want to have to cycle through the ships over and over. For Example- I have a number of ships
It would be nice if there was a done moving button to signify that you do not want to take any further actions with a ship even if there are movement points left. Right now I have a lot of ships. I am trying to set them up in a certain position in my sectors. I do not want to have them guard or on sentry because I would like the option of moving them on my next turn withougt having to hunt them down. If I don't use up my movement points, I keep having to go over ships that I
Ummmm, whatever blackday. I've played SEIV, and this is no SEIV! Have you even played GalCiv much less SEIV????? :notsure:
OK, I found where this is mentioned. It sounds like these three screens are what is being referred to. Are the screen shots I've been seeing on some websites, glimpses of what might be some intro or ingame movies we might see in Beta 3?
