It has been mentioned in a couple other post already, but I thought I would give it a post all it's own so it doesn't get lost. This bug has happened in the two games I have started since Beta 3E came out. It seems that for some reason or another, ships do not attack, but instead occupy the same space. This not only happens to the human player, but also when AI's attack each other. In the game I was just playing, there was a stack of 31 Arcean and Altarian ships. They are at

Problem goes both ways and for all AI's. Very strange. Even saved, exited and loaded it up. Still does the same thing. I'm going to start a new game, but I will keep a copy of the save game, just in case someone wants to check this out.

I am an the early stages of a game and the Altarians have declared war on me. My Survey ship is in the middle of their territory but can not be killed! The reason is their ships go to attack but just end up going on the same "space" as me. They can't attack for some reason? Any Ideas?

That gives me an idea. Can the space monsters have a home planet. Something like a Hive Planet with a queen. Then if you take over the Hive Planet and supposedly kill the queen, the rest of the colony would die. I know I am not talking about a single entity space monster, and I don't know if this would work. It almost sounds like a minor race. But there would be no interaction with them and their only goal would be to destroy everything, or something like that. Kinda ram

I just quit a game by going to the main menu and started a new one. When I did this, the economic sliders were still in the positions that I had them in the last game. Shouldn't they reset to a defualt position? I forgot to check them on the first few turns and it messed up my start.

I think something that needs to be focused on is that Terror Stars only come late in the game and only apply to those using a strategy of military conquest. It seems to me as if people see the words "Terror Star" and think "COOL!!! We gotta have those!!!" But many people won't even be using them that much. Oh well, seems as if I might be on the losing end of the battle. I will be looking forward to flagships and all that they might bring to the game.

I was about to submit a metaverse score and the GalCiv crashed to desktop. SmartException came up and I hit the submit button but there was no confirmation. (Is there supposed to be a confimation?) If it did go through, I may have submitted it a couple times. Sorry. AARRGGHH...must...resist...temptation...to...become...evil........ I think it would be cool to see some correspondence from the good races, warning me of my evil ways as I make those "bad" choices! The warnings could become more and more threatening as I spiral downward into my evil madness...MUHAHAHA!

Great News! I was able to get SmartException working! Not sure how. Went through and deleted any referenct to SmartException, then installed the newest version. Could have sworn I did this before! :notsure: As to what I was doing at the time of the crash- Not sure. It was during the AI's turn and I saw a couple AI ships moving near one of mine, then the crash happened. Also, is there a way to take a screenshot? There is a strange ogject next to a planet. It is

Terror stars are a late game entity and not every style of play will benefit from them. Do not fret. They will eventually make it into the game. But.... Flagships would be a benefit to everyone. Not only that, they would be helpful early on in the game. Sending a colony ship, freighter or transport unescorted is sheer folly if you are at war with anyone. The AI doesn't take that much advantage of it *yet*, but it is very easy to produce a cheap fighter with excellent speed

Technician, From the sounds of it, you will not be able to so easily wipe out the minor races(from the sounds of it). And if you spend a majority of your resources on trying to take their sector, you might be left "high and dry" when another AI declares war on you.

There is another post where Brad talks about minor races and he states that they will stay in there own sector. I think this will take care of some of your gripes. I like the idea that they stay in there own sector and are tough to get out of there. I think the idea of minor races are good. I just don't think they are implemented in the best way *yet*.

I would like to see options on the summary screen that comes up each turn. Options would be to 1)View all planet that completed production 2)Only view planets that completed Military Prod 3)Only view planets that completed Social Prod 4)Do Not view any planets 5)Select (via checkboxes) specific planets that completed production Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

If you click on the Info screen for an Avatar, there is a sentance refering to the ship in the dialoge box and it is spelled "Avitar." I noticed it in build 3B and haven't had a chance to check in 3D. Just thought of it now. Disregard if already taken care of. BTW- does SD want us pointing out small errors like this right now?

I am playing with the windowed (can't get SmartException to work) build of GalCiv and have had the game crash to desktop a couple times. I then get the Windows XP "do you want to send error" screen. I can see the details of the error report but I can't figure out how to copy it in order to post or send to SD. How can I do this, and is this information that Stardock wants? I believe there was a post about using the window build to get error reports when SExcep. does't work.<br
