It would be nice if you were given an option like there is when you colonize a planet with an existing populaiton on it. Such as using them as slaves, putting them in an isolated location, or exterminating them(other options?). Each choice would brings about an adjustment in morale or productivity for the population and also a change in your "moral alignment." (again, like colonizing at times)

Interesting comments by Riko. But I think he has missed the point. I didn't pay for the game in order to beta test. I pre-ordered the game, just like I do with others, so I don't have to hang around the store waiting for it to be released. With this pre-order though, I get the chance to see how the game is comming along in development. If there is something that I thing might improve the game when it is done I can make comments on it and those comments may lead to a better game!

I was wondering if it is possible, or if there is any interest in having the option of displaying the races morale on a line graph as is the pop., military, influence and others? I find I am going to the finance(?) screen quite often to determine my populations morale. I think it would be handy if I could view it over in the line graph area.

"Holding down the Control key (Ctrl) while left clicking on multiple ships will allow you to select multiple ships. Holding down the Shift key while left click-dragging on the map will allow you to also do the same." From the GalCiv User's Manual. Although this does not make the ships "convoy" at the same speed, it is helpful to move many ships to the same location

I was wondering if it would be possible or even wanted, to have an indicaiton of how much damage was taken during ship during combat. (Something like floating numbers) Two reasons- I'd like to know the amount of damage certain enemy ships are dishing out. Then I can plan better whether or not to continue an assualt with one of my ships. I know I can look down at the mini-details at the bottom to figure this out, but I'd rather not have to. Second, at times many battles fly

/This isn't really applicable except with Soldering, since you already have to have a bonus from something in order to have a different value that any other race, whereas soldering has several indirect bonuses (total tech level, number of troops, and whether you're attacking or defending)./ I don't see how this is true. Space anomilies give % bonuses to many different things. And if a race has a high level of development in one of these areas, the bonus that race would get is much lar

I am never sure what is going to happen when I research/explore/build something that gives me a % increase. Don't get me wrong. I know how to figure out a %. But a 20% speed bonus to ships doesn't relate well to how I visualize the game. +1 speed bonus makes more sense. I see that my ships were moving 4 spaces before, so now they will move 5. Also the percent bonus system "unfairly" favors the stronger races. For example a 10% attack bonus for troops that have attack of 10

--revisited-- Not so sure about this again. Maybe the time I could see them was when I did have a ship in the area but it was then destroyed. So my original question still stands. Shouldn't we be able to see through the FOW as our allies do??? Thanks.

--Please ignore the above post.-- My mistake, I guess you can see through the FOW. I did not realize this because the main screen stays shaded. But it does bring up other questions. I have an ally that declared war on my enemy but has done nothing to help.

Wouldn't it make sense to be able to see through the fog of war around your allies territory? That way you could see an enemy invasion comming towards you. You could also see where you allies need help. (Sorry if it seems like I'm spamming. I'm in the middle of a game and don't like writting these things down as I think of them, so instead I come here and type them up. I believe they are legit concerns. Thanks)

Shouldn't the Attack and Defense Values remain the same when you give another race ships? I gave the drengin some dreadnoughts to help in their defense, but they ended up being no better then the attackers battle cruisers. I know it is probably based on the receiving races current tech but shouldn't the values remain the same. It was after all created by the almighty Terrans!

Went back and checked... I was able to upgrade the original starbase. BTW- is there a way to post screenshots? I could easily show the situation. Another question- Is there going to be, or supposed to be a graphic for the starbases in the small screen (not main screen) above the turn buttons? Right now, for me, it shows a blank blue box. 3rd Question- Is it possible to select a color other that blue for the Terrans. I have trouble picking that color out

I've noticed a bug with starbases in the current game I'm in. Situation- I have 3 starbases on the same coordinate. For some reason, when I went to try and upgrade the first starbase, the "build starbase" screen came up instead of the "upgrade starbase" screen. The first time I didn't really notice and I thought the game had a bug that didn't allow me to upgrade. After the second time I checked on the starbase and noticed there were now 3 starbases at the same location. <br

Drengin Loader screen comes up, then Costumer Registration Information screen comes up without a serial number. I tried entering my serial number and then clicked on the register button. A message pops up saying it is unable to connect to server. Anyone else having this problem???

I've had the game lock up a few times under 2B. It seems to occur during the AI movement. A couple times I have notice an AI ship showing movement with a negative value. In the last lock-up that just happened, the AI ship had -48/4 movement. Once that ship stopped moving the game froze. It is also difficult to exit out at this point(WinXP). After ctr+alt+del I have to "mouse over" the task manager to get a view of it. Galciv takes control of the screen and I only get a f

I'm in a game right now, where whenever I "purchase" the production of a Hyperion Manufacturing Center(HMC), the game will lock up after I hit the turn button. It doesn't seem to matter what other activities I might do during the turn. After locking up, I can "restore last civilization" from the main menu and purchase the HMC with no problems. But as soon as I try to purchase the HMC on another planet it will lock up again. I can email a saved game if anyone is interested.<br

Noticed something else- The two colony ships do not have to be created on the same turn. Just have two colony ships on different systems. Load one normally. Go to the other system with the colony ship. Do NOT click on the ship icon. Instead click on the green arrow launch button. This will bring up the load screen- which it should not be able to. After trying to load and clicking launch, the ship does not launch and you loose the popluation you just loaded.

John, Replies to your questions- 1)Click on the "leave orbit" button without first clicking on a ship usually does not do anything. Unless you do what I desribe in my first post. -The population reduces by half but the ship is not loaded and does not leave orbit after pressing the green arrow. 2)The two colony ships are from two different planets. Everything works fine for the first ship you select. The problem occurs on the second ship on the other planet.
