I had something like this in mind. Cant' say this is real good. I took me a couple minutes to whip it up. It might be neat to use on other forums. I guess this is the model for what I had in mind. http://www.prounreal.org/mlut/ <img src="http://www.prounreal.org/mlut/imgs/spacer.gif" alt="" width="1" height="1"

Would anyone care to take a shot at designing a "Major League" Sins logo that could be used by people who play in the 5v5's? What I have in mind is the Marza against the blue/red background.

This game never had enough of an online player base to support having a real clan league with scheduled matches. Also, 90% of the people online only play vs. AI and not real games, so the number of people playing PvP is far too small to have a clan scene.

Host games with titles like "3v3 noobs only". That way you can play against other new people and you would be justified in booting out any skilled players who join.

I just installed Rebellion on my laptop (running Vista) and I want to turn off the opening cinematic, but I cannot find the settings file or even the Rebellion settings older. I know it should be in <>AppData/Ironclad Games/ but I don't see the "Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion" folder (just the older Trinity folder) and I have my folder options set to show hidden files. So where the heck are my settings files for Rebellion?

It's possible that Sins players who are interested in role playing do their role playing in actual RPGs.

Short of studying replays, it's probably best to just dive right in and study the replays from your games. Be patient and understand that you have to suffer your nooby lumps while you learn how to play it against thinking opponents. If you work at it and study the replays you can get up to speed quickly. I've seen people go from "new to online multiplayer" to "respectable" within a month or two.
You'll be compatible either way so it won't matter. The community won't be split this time around.
What happens if 80% of the PvP crowd gets the DLC wants to play using the DLC? It seems like that would split off the other 20%.

Funniest 5v5 ever. I agree, people shouldn't get kicked if the game does not say "skilled". What you should do is identify yourself to the game host as someone who played online PvP in the earlier versions of the game and thus not a "box noob".

What do you do when you host a game and then you get the eco slot? Start feeding people. That's all fine and good, but wouldn't it make sense to at least colonize your asteroid and your moon and perhaps to slowly take some other planets while you build up your eco and feed? Judiciously colonizing planets and building trade ports on them is not that huge of an impediment to feeding your team, certainly not when you're TEC. In tonight's game, King of Ki

A big part of the problem is that the diplomacy has to be mutual. In the original Diplomacy expansion, at least in the beginning, it was sufficient if only one player sent envoys, which means that eco spot players could take care of the diplomacy stuff. The other problem is that it just takes too danged long for the relationship to build up.
