Valve takes the same cut of a steam sale if you use steam works or not. In that sense, it is free. Its te not free in the sense that it ties the game to steam. Considering steams position in the market, that is a very easily swallowed cost for many developers. It's not time and it's not money, and those are the two things in short supply.

Adam Jensen is protagonist from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, one of the best games of that year for me, and one of the best games of last few years. I don't throw titles of "OMG, GOTY, 11/10!", so, decide for yourself.
Seconded. Top notch game, and you can get

Is that possible? Game development is funny that way, they likely don't know for sure a lot of the answers yet and don't want to give "whats likely" answers because if they do and it changes people come back with "you said X!"

Course, it'll also make it way less annoying since it's 15 con

4G is a term for a type of wireless networking, not a speed. 4G can mean a lot of different speeds, depending on what you get. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G if your signal is strong it's reasonably fast, so that's fine. Data limits might be an issue depending on how big your cap is.

I got GalCiv 2 on sale after playing Sins for a while, and got hooked. I was never super good at it, but the ship designer and empire building kept me coming back. Eagerly awaiting more of that! Also excited for MP, since Im always looking for good coop games to play with my best friend. He lived in the US so we don't see each other that often in person, but we do a lot of gaming.

It's the future (the present actually) because on my 80Mbps connection I can download a gsme faster than I can drive to the store to buy it. They always have it in stock. Stardock makes vastly more per copy sold than at retail. Sales are common. Entire genres of indie games wouldn't exist right now if not for digital distribution. Retail only works for very big releases.

Stardock said this, today :
Ray: We have a new combat system that we are planning for after the alpha. But we don’t want to mislead people – Galactic Civilizations isn’t about fighting long tactical battles. You are controlling a civilization that spans the galaxy and your focus is on producing and placing your fleets, not in giving every order in a battle

Here's some more on that, including stuff happening in 8.1 update 1 . They're clearly not abandoning the desktop mode, given the effort going into making Metro suck less while on the desktop.

151 Replies 732,285 Views

They already brought back the button in 8.1, along with boot to desktop. It's just that the 8.1 button brings up the metro start screen instead of the start menu. That is the part likely changing back, along with metro apps being able to coexist in desktop mode (without needing Modernmix from Stsrdock). There is also a goal to unify Windows into fewer versions, though I'm not sure when that will actually happen. Mobile is key to Microsofts strategy as they need to grow t
