I see this warning in virtually every error log posted here. My game just grey screened, I get this three times in a row. When I get UI lag, this error is here every time. I think this is a massive bug, causing one of the UI variables to fail to define. When this occurs once, then that UI element must be re-evaluated, causing the lag. However when you get it three times in a row, as in this particular instance, then too many UI elements have failed and cannot be re-evaluated, since I know fro

Most RTS. Demigod is a specific exception, where the quantity of data handled is exceptionally high and the required speed of updating is exceptionally high compared to most RTS, because it's much more "real time" and the player has much more information. Two main examples: Area of effect. Let's say, in WC3, you fire a Demolisher shell at a unit. You know, instantly, the place that it will hit. Whereas Demigod, allows for the possibility that it will hit another unit before impacting

The bandwidth required is simply too much for client-server, you don't appreciate the quantity of data involved in a Demigod game. In order to play WC3, you're recieving all data required to play the game from the server, and just rendering the results. So now, Archer X fired at Grunt Y. You instantly know exactly what the results were, because you have the same random seed, and the same unit locations, and the shot is guaranteed to hit, etc etc. Demigod, on the other hand, if

TBO: You can still dodge in SupCom, it's possible to learn the player name during connecting. I simply don't spread it around how. Edit: For SupCom, myself and another player have been working on a much more accurate performance tester. You could simply bracket people by performance, and if theirs is below X, then play them only with other people below X.

I fully agree. Yes, multiplayer connectivity right now is pretty bad. On the other hand, it's going to be fixed and moreover, the reviewer constantly went on about single player. As if anyone ever really plays the campaign.

I say, if you can play an 8 player game in Supreme Commander, then your connection can handle anything. On the other hand, Demigod's environment is much less forgiving with players who can't connect simply ruining the game, and especially in Pantheon games, unejectable.

ROFL, nice one chevelleking. I will try that. However the usual exe works now instead of just the shortcut. Crashed on trying to log in. It does seem much better now. However, I'll have to start downloading again to see how long to leave it for. Thing is, the Betas were absolutely fine. I participated up until Beta 3 or so, and it was completely unheard of for Demigod to crash. Now, the retail crashes or hangs on the menus very happily. Click any button

We can't have a 3v3 with five players, four players are totally ready to go. Why don't you just launch the damn game.

When launched on a multi-monitor setup initially, all is fine. However when moved to my non-identical aspect ratio screen, the game fails to resize the UI properly (this is while finding a Pantheon game, haven't checked for other occurances) such that the Connection Info button is part cut off. When moved back to the original screen, this button goes back to the same relative position on the other screen, so for me, that means it levitates. It also seemed to interrupt my searching for a game,

This annoys me so badly. I want to edit my post, because obviously I said something and I want to add or change it. Why else am I editing my post? Why on earth is it here? Do you want me to excuse breathing, too? You edit a post, then it pops up that you can't until you give a reason. ARGHHHH. It totally breaks the flow of the site. I can't be on here, debating Demigod, helping with Demigod, getting help with Demigod, being part of the community, when I'm being interrupted arbitrarily

No, I've updated. Updating fixed the problem initially, but now it's back. So there is an update check here... could it be caused by slow internet or packet loss to hang here? I successfully played a couple of games right after the patch, but now I'm trying to launch while downloading. I also left the intro videos running with no resolving. The process is using very little CPU power (12% of one core) so it's hardly locked or infinite looping. EDIT: As soon as downloadi

As a beta tester to the game, I did not have this problem (I am running Windows 7, but always was) with any of the betas. However now, the intro videos will all play, and the menu sound appears, but the screen is just black. I can exit by pressing esc, so the game appears responsive, but can't see anything. Sometimes, the cursor will come up for a couple of seconds, and then disappear. Edits: See edits on the bottom post.

So hang on, I have to buy another product in order to use this? EDIT: Apparently you pay for some themes, not the actual program. My mistake.

https://forums.joeuser.com/331876 [quote]It depends on how they implement what they are calling their anti-cheating system. Here is how it works, for those that do not know. The game executable is hardcoded to recognize the md5 hash of the zip file that has all of the lua files in it. change any lua file or anything at all with that zip file and the hash changes and the game will not start. So far, yo
