WC3. You fire shot X at unit Y. You don't need any more information because you have the same random seed as the server, and you KNOW it will hit. Demigod. You target a unit with Rook's Hammerslam. Suddenly, that unit might move out the way. If you fire an arrow at someone, you can move out the way or have it blocked. (I don't think this actually happens, but the engine is set up for this to happen). The amount of information required is massively more, because it's all actually done

We are Demigods, so we should just ditch the towers and creeps. That's pretty much how the game is now. If you are absolutely winning at level 1, you can't go blowing up towers and accomplishing a lot. If you AoE down his creeps, they're no loss. There's a bunch of things here which are just pointless, useless, etc. I think the threat that the enemy may make serious encroachments on your territory should be a punishment for dying instead of ridiculous quantities of gold.

That doesn't change my other complaint, that consumables are OP. It's not viable to not put gold into potions. As for protection from death, I'm a beta tester. By simply dying less, you just deny your opponent the fruits of his hard work. As for AoE killing creeps, why bother with the creeps? Just level everyone up and save the CPU cycles.

Ditch them. Just.. nobody, ever, should play against AI in an online match. First, there's the whole sim speed issue. Then, there's a whole thing about how the AIs suck. Then, I play online to play against people, not 6/10 of my game being AIs. Especially right now, there's more than enough people in good experience ranges.

THERE'S NO STRATEGY IN THAT. You can't decide, strategically, that your damage to a tower is worth more than the gold and XP given to your enemy. Like, harassing workers in any RTS, where you can lose the units, but you know you did more damage. That doesn't exist in Demigod, because the gold given for killing Demigods massively outweighs any you can get from any other source. Fortress, Domination, Conquest, they all = Slaughter because of this. @murder: I'm fully aware of the advanta

This is my flat opinion. There is no real value in killing creeps or towers early game, you just farm gold from killing enemy DGs. Yes, I like obviously that killing the opponent is a big part of the game. However at the moment, it's impossible to have a strategic loss, like, you die but do X damage to an enemy tower, such that it was worth your death, because your opponent gets such a huge lump of gold for your death, it totally surmounts any gain you could get. This is why imo consumables a

Of course Gamestop releasing the game on retail early had all the impact in the world. How long does it take to upload a torrent, and then the swarm to start reaching critical mass? When it's 3-4 days before day 0, everyone who wants a torrent copy will have one. When it's day 0+this time, the server load is much more gradual.

Basically, if Demigod crashes, the last 100 lines of log popping up are not the same as the last 100 when checked in DemigodLog.lua. Specifically, I had an SCDRDoLuaConcat error, which was not visible in the last 100 lines of log, whereas the demigodlog.lua file did have the error I wanted in it.
