Heh, about where I expected.
SpardaSon21
Urgh. I expected a new balance thread and all I got was this stupid 4 month necro.
Best of luck with this.
Quoting HouseRalan, reply 7lavo, are you really surprised or just flabbergasted that there are such problems? I'm surprised by this specific bug, not that there are bugs of this sort; after seeing how chance to hit and ANTIMODULE are, it doesn't surprise me. Quoting Seleuceia, reply 8Have you tried giving something other than ogrovs ANTIMODULE weapons? If it's the only weapon type on the object, it
As someone who was very fond of SotS1 and the ease with which I could finish the eXplore, eXpand, and eXploit parts of the game and get right to the eXterminate part where ships started exploding, SotS2's increased emphasis on managing your empire and decreased emphasis on fighting and winning battles has not endeared me to the game.
Fewer races, most likely. Only load the ones you want to play with.
If you're not using the HasHullDamage constraint for repair abilities, you should.
Are there alternatives to DS? I love this mod, but if its dead I would like to find another good one. The extended tech tree researches, extra strike craft and additional planets were the best part, are there any other mods that do this?
http://www.moddb.com/mods/crazy That isn't a bad mod. It is that guy's take on what Distant Stars has done, and with extra craziness added in. It will work as a g
Well, I signed up for that.
I don't particularly like TBS games myself, but then again I don't hate them like these TBS guys seem to hate RTS. [e digicons]:S[/e]
I'll please take a free copy, if you're still offering. It is a PC copy, right?
Can you guys at least agree to share models? That way each of your teams only has to do half the work they would normally do.
Yeah, they're added in the .mesh file much like weapon hardpoints. I don't model for Sins so I don't know how you're supposed to do them. Hopefully myfist0 or GoaFan77 shows up soon with more info.
Did you add proper hangar points to your ships? If ships lack hangar points, expect spawned squadrons to start way out there.
Your two teams really should work together on bringing 40k into Sins. I'd rather have one really good 40k mod instead of two decent ones.
That's a unit from a mod, not from Relic.
Darvroth, that sounds like an issue with ship speeds. If ship speeds are perfectly matched, they'll never trigger the next AI stage of their attack patterns as the one in front tries to gain a range advantage before coming around for a pass and the one behind tries to close to attack range but can't. Sacrifice of Angels had a similar problem, and still does to some extent.
Eventually, definitely. Not right now though, not while they need to get a final Diplomacy release out.
Yes, it is indeed pretty awesome to smash down the doors of their supremely-fortified Cydonia base with your team of cigar-chomping, alien-exterminating, hardcore badasses in Flying Suits (take Titan armor, and let it fly all the time [e digicons]}:)[/e] ) packing enough blaster bombs and heavy plasmas to level a small city back on Earth. It is far more gratifying than the final mission for the new one.[e digicons]}:)[/e]
Rebellion allows 5 weapons for most things. Fighters, frigates, capitals, titans, structures, and starbases. Just not planets. ;)
The fact now is that retail stores don't sell PC Games any more. Unless you have a "specialty" store that specifically sells them. Like Fry's in California.
Nope, not any more. During the holiday season last year my local Fry's replaced their entire PC Gaming section with stuff like fragrances and children's toys. They were a barely tolerable place to buy games before, but after a move like that I
No, not right now. You just need to examine all your modded files that have a mesh change in them.
My guess is there's something wrong with an entity file that changes its mesh after research or an upgrade.
Okay, cool. Well, buff all capital ships then to be fair, and I'd allow TEC flak weapons to benefit from autocannon researches and the Ragnarov's rail gun to benefit from Gauss researches since Advent PD lasers benefit from their standard laser researches. Hangar and Garda flak take a big hit to utility without those damage increases, and I think it is a shame we never get research to boost the Ragnarov's signature weapon, much like the Kol before Entrenchment. One thing I noticed in my last game of Crazy as the TEC Rebels was that my Kodiaks had more armor points than my Level 8 Kols. You should probably buff capital ship armor to make them appropriately capital-scale. Another thing you should think about is one of my favorite features from Distant Stars. You may have done this already, but I haven't seen it in a changelog, but they greatly buffed capital ship stats in all categories across the board to make them less like lar
