This page is probably the best comparison of the 2 versions: https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/features.asp It also gives a description of all the apps and what they do. Whether you should get Basic or Ultimate is really up to you and what you want to get out of the applications. I personally think it's well worth the extra $20 to get access to nearly twice the applications.

Unfortunately there is no way to add exceptions to Defender's catch list. The best advice I can give you is to uninstall and reinstall (preferably through Impulse) and hope Defender picks up the dock's publisher info and whitelists it.
Same location in Vista. You should be able to extract the themes there and then apply them through RightClick
I spoke with the developer on this one. Active Desktop and Fences don't get along (Fences will actually explicitly disable it). I would suggest looking at something like Display Fusion or Ultramon to get the same effect. These too have issues, but they should be fixed in later builds of Fences.
I'll bring this up with the devs, as it's a good idea. There is some filtering already present, as far as certain applications not able to be installed on OSes they are completely incompatible with (an error box will appear when trying to install)
Installed through the standalone installer or Impulse? If through Impulse, try verifying to see if it helps. To verify the application through Impulse: -Launch Impulse. Right click on the entry for the application a
Are you using a standalone installer or getting the latest version through Impulse? Impulse is the best way at this time to get Fences installed.
Usually connection issues like this are caused by web filtering or other random security applications installed on the system that are preventing access to the Impulse site. Try disabling or adding exceptions in any you may have installed and see if the situation betters itself.
This is a known issue with Fences and certain applications, like Office, that create a temporary file that gets saved rather than simply overwriting the original file (you can see this temp file if you enable showing of hidden files/folders). Devs are aware of it and working on a fix for future releases.
if you have any feature requests or major issues with Fences, you can always aim them at fencesbeta at stardock.com
In the latest version of Impulse, if you click on the help icon in the upper left of the interface and then click "Register a product", you'll be taken to the registrations page where you can enter your serail numbers. If you bought something through the Impulse/Stardock store directly, it should auto
Impulse version numbers are not always the same as the actual app version number. Something to keep in mind.

Verifying with Impulse tends to clear this up. Right click on the entry for WindowBlinds in Impulse and hit "Verify installation". Once you do that, if it fails, there should be an update available to fix the issue.
Transilvania coordinated Desktop: Windowblinds 4.5, IconPackager, CursorXP, BootSkin, LogonXP...
Are you using the latest ThemeManager (3.00.X)? If so, the fact that this was built with WB 4.5 and other older apps probably means it's not going to work so well with the latest ThemeManager, which uses newer versions.
Any sort of add-ons that would change how the page is rendered like this? Using FF3 here and having no issues.
There is no option like this in Multiplicity, but you might try tweaking with the speed thresholds more, or enable the option to only allow switching when scroll lock is enabled.
Dunno when this was put up, but that page has this is the comments: Artist's Comments Fett theme made by Mike Bryant.

Make no mistake; many, if not all of the Object Desktop applications will be updated for Windows 7. Just right now they don't always work so great. We're more than happy to hear how people are getting things working on Win 7, we just want everyone to understand that stuff's probably going to be broken in the begining, until you see the new betas rolling out.
and also with you... No problem. Glad to help.
From Dictionary.com . Pay attention to number 7. an⋅gu⋅lar 1. having an angle or angles. 2. consisting of, situated at, or forming an angle.
Credit card numbers? You should be able to right click on the shortcut in the dock and select "Properties" (not "Dock Entry Properties"), and in the dialog that comes up you should see a "Compatibility" tab. Under that tab, at the bottom, is a check box to runt the app as admin. Check that box. BTW, I prefer Visa....
