One of the maps looked kind of like a Mayan ziggurat and I think one is based on a Mayan disk-calendar or something, so I think Aztec/Mayan/Incan stuff is pretty likely.
Gnats3
It was done by Howard Mostrom, according to a recent journal post.
Bugs in public demonstrations are bad and embarassing. Release the beta before PAX to ensure good first impressions from the public :)
Yes, they are still accepting beta spots.
I think 15-20 will be plenty and is most likely.
An official annoucement of "the beta probably won't be until after PAX" or the equivalent would be really appreciated.
... but then you can't test everything -_-
I highly doubt they got rid of the oak, this is probably some other demigod, and also we can now confirm they have 8 demigods, in 6 more months they could very well add at least 10-15 more and the fact they probably have like 10-15 right now as it is. So the fact that they have 2 demigods doing necromancy is very likely.
I doubt they would add entire new ones after the beta started. At least they wouldn't have the beta with only half the Demigods useable.
Meh. Does it really matter?
No :P
You obviously don't live in Texas. Here, if you're going by weather-seasons, Fall doesn't start till late October, at best
September is also when school starts, which counts as fall :P September sounds so far away :/
He was a guy in armor, I think.
If they all have the exact same strengths and weaknesses then what is the point of having more than one of them?..And demigod is more than just fighting people 1vs1. And presumably it's more than ordering your demigod(and your units if you have any) to attack the other persons demigod, and one will die and one will live with 1 hit left, or them killing each other simutaniously..Theres creeps, there's towers, yada yada.Your idea of what makes balance sounds very shallow.
1
There is a persistant mode where your Demigod levels up and stays leveled up into the next match, but you don't have to use that mode if you don't want to. You can also probably use as many Demigods as you want in that mode. In non-persistant mode, you level up in one game and go back to level 1 in the next match.
Maybe there are two Demigods that can do necromancy, just they do it differently. It's possible... Yay for more info though!
the Pwns need some sort of weapon, dunno what would fit yet.
A Solar Bean! Take that, SoaSE players! Inside jokes of our own! ;)
If it takes place on August 30th, it is late-August instead of mid-August, meaning that they lied. It also means it is Fall (I know, technically Fall isn't until Sept 21 or something, but I'm going by weather-seasons not sun-seasons :D), making them even more liars. They don't want to be liars!
It isn't available to download yet since it isn't out yet.
It is not too late to preorder, and the beta date is still planned for mid-August.
But all the Demigods should be balanced for 1v1 :D The point is that the outcome of the match could be entirely luck based. I was lucky enough to pick the better Demigod for this creep configuration, you weren't, I win. If the randomness of the creeps is kept to be pretty slight, it could probably work, but if some games have 3 times as many catapaultasarauses, it could be bad.
Which is sort of the point..Presumably some demigods will have some minor RPS against each other. Like one demigod might have a slight advantage in a 1vs1 fight against another type, and disadvantages against others. The random creeps could even that out, or make an even greater disparity. And in such a case your team would want to gang up on such a person and keep them away from the lane that would benefit them the most, forcing them to a lane where they won't level as fast
<br
Randomizing the creeps could be bad, since then the game could be too much luck if you happen to have the Demigod that is best in that particular situation. It could work though. Options to make things random are usually good.
Generals attack the enemy army :).
I can neither confirm or deny the existence of tidbits.
In the journal post it says he can't give away his tidbits, so they must exist! :D
Hello.
Gnats3, you aren't much of an investigator are you? (*hints at her profile)
I didn't notice that the Stardock forums even had profiles - they are missing so much other stuff.
