No, not boring at all. If you find that you feel attractive, you generally do feel better about yourself. Take advantage of it! I spent a good portion of my life refusing to wear makeup because I felt like I was giving into some societal command about I "should" look, or caving in to mother culture and assuming the oppressive weight of some role I "ought" to be playing. I do wear makeup now, though not every day. Sometimes it makes me feel marginally better. Occasionally I get

Recently I received a check for $40 in the mail - a rebate from Best Buy. A few years ago I would immediately have gotten into the car and driven to the bank to deposit the check because I was about to be overdrawn. I no longer have to do things like that. <P style="MARGIN-T
Excellent point Zoomba, hope people listen.
When I first started customizing I wanted to change the skin ever 5 minutes (literally). I thought about asking someone to make a skin changer widget that could be set to small time intervals. It has slowly worn off a little...but I still like to change my skin every week or two. If only we could change our own skins for better looking ones like we can our computers!

I apologize for not looking like Heidi Klum. I would if I could. But I lost the genetics lottery. Cut me some slack, OK? I love the idea of this pin. I'd buy one. I never used to wear makeup and people would say things like "you could be pretty if you wore makeup ". In other words; cover
We had moles in our backyard in California. They would dig up the yard, and then the dogs would see them and dig up the yard more...not good. If you try to relocate them, they will come back. They will. But I understand your torment. However, it cost me $1500 to fix that yard when we sold it. It wasn't all mole and dog damage, but a lot of it was. Good luck. Sorry I can't offer anything helpful!
Good luck Raven. If you plan to burn down any villages...you don't live near me, right?
Oy! Danny! Come on back! Little Whip is singing your song!
I look forward to it Suz. And you never know, gangsta rap might just be the anesthetic you need right now.
I know exactly what you mean about daydreaming. It's amazing how much of a day can be taken up in little fantasies and adventures. As for the band: Normally for a blog like this I would respond with something like "go for it!" But that "advice" (a term I use in it's loosest sense) does no good. How does one go about starting a band? I have no idea. I'd kind of like to be in a band too, but I don't play any instruments...and I can't sing very well. So I have no plans to
Wow you guys, and I thought I was doing so well with my "Been around the block". But to tell the truth if I'm going around the block it's in order to walk my dogs.
Friday fun time. Share your results! Been round tha block</
I enjoy Robert L. Forward (try Dragon's Egg) and occasionally Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game), and there are others who write series. Asimov may be the pinnacle, but dont knock other sci-fi writers till you've tried them all! And that should take a while. Don't count the Star Wars and Star Trek stuff. It's a totally different animal, IMHO.
Good for you!! Debt can be so stressful, not to mention the fact that you never have any free money and your paycheck is all spent on bills rather than something fun or going into savings. As someone who previously had a MOUNTAIN of debt, but is now happily able to buy food like the regular folks, I salute you. Good luck.
America's Next Top Model makes me cry too. Cry away sister. Might as well get it all out.
Suz - oddly enough, I am still typing this from a temporary replacement computer. Hopefully technology issues will be resolved today. And you are welcome. I have enjoyed your articles very much and was glad to see you return. Blog on sister. SOmetimes it's all we got.
I don't think doing the hard stuff makes you a coward. There is simply no way for me to make you feel better, but perhaps it will help for me to say that I feel for you? And I do think (Rand quote alert) that "if it's a decision between your heart and your mind, you should always choose your mind". That also does not make you a coward.
Afterwards on the trip back I chat with an Irish girl who said that after I jumped, it scared her so much she was in tears and almost didn't go Ah, but the important thing to note is that you did impress the ladies, or at least 1 lady. There is no bad press. Congrats on making the jump. Evidently fear is not a factor for you.
you can’t have funerals for the imaginary Our lives used to be (historically), steeped in ritual. It was often the ritual that gave us the much needed outlet for emotions and feelings that were hard to express otherwise. Where did all these rituals go?
Ah, awful weight! Infinity Pressed down upon the finite Me! My anguished spirit, like a bird, Beating against my lips I heard; Yet lay the weight so close about There was no room for it without. And so beneath the weight lay I And suffered death, but could not die. Happy Birthday!!
I wrote something much longer, but was afraid I'd insult some of the more religious folks here. Not my intention. Suffice it to say that perhaps Christmas has become so commercialized that people "can't see the forest for the trees" so to speak. Just for the record; Easter has better candy.
Ahhh, c'mon Danny. (*wheedling tone) I'll give you an insightful!
No computer...what will I do? Fighting down a sense of rising panic... No Internet connection or telelvision at home - f*** you Charter - for over 2 weeks. And now work computer is hosed, at least temporarily. It seems to me that the world is trying to tell me something. Isn't it amazing, (or perhaps a better word is pathetic) how much of our lives revolve around technology? During the fall of 2003 I was living close to San Bernardino, California (so don't mess with m
