Huh - well, my desktop takes about 10 minutes after clicking shutdown for it to decide to start shutting down - and that known issue ain't it. No IME on the welcome screen (No welcome screen!), and SP1 is installed. ^_^ Actually, I've slowly been tracking it down - it's something listed in taskmgr that's causing the delay, I know that much - I just need to care about it enough to both
kthxbye
As long as the aftermath isn't like the last time something similar to this had to happen! ^_^
Huh - I took Kosati's post as not-all-together serious. ^.^ Boxxi's right though - about making themes for himself, first and foremost!
/me blinks. Wow - the feline posted outside of the evil chatroom marathon. Run!
After you use PrtSc - are you opening up a graphics program and pasting it into a new file? PrtSc only puts the image to the clipboard. It's an intergral part of Windows - so if that's not working, well, your install is messed up somehow. 99.99% of the people here just use PrtSc.
Hey Adam - just wanted to say I think it looks great. Takes up too much desktop space for my tastes, but then, anything that takes up more space than a small windows taskbar takes up too much space, to me! ^.^ Oh - and I do 99% of my computer stuff on my notebook - which only has a 1024 res, too.
"goodmorphing thinks running pre-release stuff is fun.... when there are challenges" I'm getting enough of that trying to get KDE 3.1.1 to compile on my FreeBSD notebook! 2 days, and still trying to compile kdelib! Yay!
Ack - sorry to hear that your skins disappear when you uninstall/update Windowblinds, Brazil. Odd, really - every time a new version comes out, I switch to Windows Classing and then I uninstall the old one, and install the new one, all from within Component Manager - and I've never lost my skins. Quite happy with CM, personally. I love you Stardock guys, but after some of the grief I've had with the Windowblinds 4 alpha (none with the beta yet!) I'm holding off on SDC - I'm through ru
Perhaps years from now people will think it's merely urban myth - and then, /then/ Jafo can jump up with "Here is the original file! It does exist!"
"I guess *WINDOWS ME* can only take so playing around before there is problems!!!! " Windows ME can only take the simple process of -booting- so many times before there are problems!! ^_^ If you're only using WebBlinds to stop popups, rather than to change the toolbar or throbber, there are lots of popup stoppers out there. I really like Panicware's myself.
I grabbed it through Component Manager, and it works like a charm for me.
Augh! No! Alas! The greatest wall of all time, and I never got around to downloading it! *sighs* I imagine 10 years from now, prints of it will sell for hundreds on eBay!
Do you need the Wincustomize subscription to connect to the server though? I connect using Bersirc and BitchX (depending on what computer/OS I'm on/in,) myself...
Hrm - unfortunately, I don't use webblinds. The latest pre-WB4 alpha and betas have been doing a fine job of skinning MSIE 6, so I sort of stopped using it - even before, I never really used it (I like to load as few things as possible,) so I can't really offer much elp, sorry. ^.^
/me whispers to the Princess, "Don't let Jafo find out! Actually, he's probably one of the few here who /can/ help you there - being the resident guru and all."
Here's a super crazy, wacky thought. Look. Those subjects only get brought up every other day on here.
/me chuckles. It's all good, Thibaud - the legions of ravenous fans I was talking about were the Hoverdesk fans, who're likely to hunt you down demanding new versions... it was just a moment of lightheartedness, and slightly OT, but something which I felt was needed at the moment! ^_^
I feel your pain, Princess... I remember when I was only able to connect at 24k (lived in the city - crappy phone lines..) It was -never- fun downloading service packs for Windows, or updates for my BSD system...
That's what cut & paste is for. ^_^
Thibaud - better keep a low profile, 'lest all of the legions of ravenous HvD fans learn you're around here... ^.^

That's new. ^.^ feline: feline giggles at the thought of T-Man sitting around with nothing to do No comment. ^_^ *leonine* whispers in kthxbye's ear "it is ok to look, especially here". anyway, so long as your motives are pure, it is amazing what we
Do people not look for things on their own any longer? Well okay - so it's buried in the FAQ section here - and near impossible to find. (Admins! Let's get a FAQ section that people will actually -think- about using!!!) Start Menu - directly from the FAQ: How can I link to the StartMenu with ObjectDock? Copy and paste the following in a text editor. set wShell=wscript.createobject("wscript.shell") wShell.sendkeys "^{ESC}" Save with .vbs ext
"becase there is another country called Canada." Yes, and I've lived there before. Granted, not exactly -legally- but... ahem, that's a different story anyway. It was just a clarification however - here in the US, 9 times out of 10 'America' means USA. When we refer to the continents, we'll either say North America, or South America - or if we're referring to the American countries
Boot screen... I /think/ there's a program out there that handles the hacking for you, I don't remember. It takes some file hacking to change it in XP (and 2k) otherwise, however. Not for the faint of hearted. (Though I've gotta say, my hacked shell32 is chugging right along happily.)
