:) posted it, sent the link. But then i have to go back to edit a lot of it. I used my ten races as base, but am going to move over the spawn files to a clean version of entrenchment. That and figure out how to do without planets. :) That is a unique idea. :) Anyway, am back in school and up to my eyebrows in math and english and term papers and two tests this week, it will take some time, a few days of work after i can finish with the homework and tests and the

who are the FX Mod Peeps? Sins modders? Or HW modders out on the net? -Teal
:) Now that might be very very interesting!! -Teal
Templates are over my head SemazRelan, I appreciate the explanation and even the thought, but im not familiar enough with working with them to be any good at it, but i can learn, i suppose i should start spending more time in GalaxyForge and looking at the templates and see how they work and if i can start by changing some of the variables and how they play out. Then of course go from there, crashing and burning and trying it again. :) Thank you for the interesting explanation t
:) Ah... one for one might be interesting!! :) I am 'spawning' frigates and capitals in the same way that combat turrets are 'spawned'. It does take some effort to set it up, especially across multiple races, but when done, and especially if i can find the right balance, it is a beautiful thing!!! Having my bacon pulled from the fire at the last minute with a spawn of a few new caps, or the utility ships stepping in and giving me shield coverage. :) Whew,
:) Glad your back!!! Good to see progress on the 1.03 Entrenchment, :) I've been playing the 1.05 version Vanilla, it still brings back memories, :) Anyway, good to see you here, Hope it goes well, let us know. :) I will download this in a hot second!! :) Take care, -Teal
Yes, you are right, that is so... I sometimes forget that Sins is really RTS so much, But i was thinking they could add more into the 4X part of it, you know, maybe research trees that are dependent on which direction you first start in, instead of having an open all accessible research tree, it might be nice to have one that is different depending on the choices i make, or is different with each game forcing different considerations. But that would require a host of research, and a s
The NightFall mini mod is a few tweaks to my Ten Races mod (StarFire for Entrenchment) that limits planet resources and raises the costs of ships and their build times. It is meant to have things start small, with just a cap ship or a few frigates against an equally small enemy. As the game progresses of course, more planets and more resources will mean larger and more elaborate fleets, both for the player and the enemy as well. It changes just a few small variables, but changes the w
I've been playing with the dev.exe again today, after working on a mini mod, one to limit the ships and slow down the economy, and i really really think the dev.exe is the perfect mod already made, you can customize it on the fly, you can limit your ships or add ships, you can go for the long and involved game or the quick big battle games, it is wonderful!! I think this is sorta the game editor we all have been talking about except maybe the storyline of a campaign. Just wanted
:) Will give it a try and then upload it and let you know, maybe you can tell me how it goes? Thank you for the feedback. :) -Teal
I just got through playing a rather involved small game, only about 9 planets with only 2 races, tec and vasari. I was tec. I started with just one capital, the kol and it was very nice having the building going and the small fights with the rebels on the next worlds. I got to thinking it would be awesome, long but awesome to have to completely build up the planet, before being able to build ships, and then just like 1 cap, maybe a couple of scouts, not very many. And having the
:) GalCiv is a very nice game, but i like the openess of Sins and you can get close to the ships, or the planets, it feels more like your in space, but GalCiv even with all the moving parts on the ships and you can customize them and there are a ton of research and other things that are made different, it is different, because of the 4x part, and the planets are not as well done, in my opinion. But it is very very stable. I just think Sins is sorta a GalCiv plus you know? But there are
i dont know about this whole ms vs google thing, but i know that my mom and dad use the computer differently than me, and my little brother uses it even more differently than i do. Mom and Dad surf news and weather, not much else, i play some games, do my homework, look things up, email and socialize a little, mod Sins :) and sleep. My little brother plays games and chats, surfs the net looking at guitars, while listening to itunes in his ears and texting with his phone in his lap
:) Well, after getting the spawnable ships to work, i now have the problem, that they spawn too many and too fast. Also, i am supposing it is much better to limit them to the original 180 seconds instead of the -1 for forever, or at least until the are destroyed. Problem is the way they are now, games are too easy. So, back to the drawing board. Oh Shadow and EvilTesla, how do we get the smoke and debris and half smashed planets into the mod? -Teal &
hmm.... mesh, no uv... raw geometry...whew!!! I think im getting in over my head here, but hey, why not? :) I wouldnt have thought i could pull off what i have so far when i started. So might as well dive in and learn. I downloaded a copy of the mod tool, i guess its not the 3dsmax one, but i thought it would be a place to start and learn. Thank you to everyone for all the kind help and suggestions. :) I feel like a noob, but appreciate all the help.
:) Mooster, Thank you for the wonderful detail on adding Caps to the game file. :) I hadn't tried it, but it looks wonderful!!! :) -Teal
:) It would be nice to have both! perhaps as a add in mod to the game, or as a toggle for either/or situations. This way people get to choose, instead of re-working one side at the expense of the other. I have noticed on some games, not just this one, that the multi-players often have needs different from the solo players, and changing for one just denies the other. Not a real solution, but most games are not in a position to have two workable setups to accomodate both player type
Thank you All!!!! will look at the link on uv mapping, thanks DireSaint, oh... also, what is the link for your update of Cybdevil's Planet Mod? I've been trying to find it with no luck. -Teal
am at school today, give me about a day, will try to re-look to see what the problem is tonght or tomorrow, then post back, take care, -teal
Sounds very very cool!!! Count me in, haha, im not so sure about the name!! We could always go with the THREE STOO... :) well, that is "not" very professional, so i will withdraw it, we could of course use Groucho, Chico and Harp..., No that won't work either as one of the names is already taken. How about your suggestion? Sounds good to me. :) I have some experience with spawning ships, and the mothership idea is quite workable. The "colonizer" desig
let me reload it, maybe there is something wrong, :( i will check the zip file, and rezip it and post it as a version 2 and then i will post back here with a link. :) Probably will be tomorrow though, i have school til late, then home. Thanks and sorry for the mess, -Teal
Thank you, i looked on google but got all about mods, all about meshes, but not the one i remember Annatar saying was a tool to edit meshes from Sins with, I'm going to give modeling a try, and thought i would start with some ravaged planets that i want to put into my Last Songs of a Dying Star mod. :) I have finshed with the coding, just need the atmosphere, :) haha, all the smoke and debris and half smashed planets to fill it out. :) Haha, and the remnants of t
:) Haha, yes, lots of conflicting ones, but i thought this way you could have whatever planet you wanted as your start planet, i also there in some StarStations, :) and i hope the heavy weapons, lite research, heavy strikecraft and the others are fun. :) Yes, the 10 Foes was a pull directly from my starfire mod, but its cool to have other races with other kinds of emphasis on them, you know? :) Anyway, glad you like it, if you can think of any ideas f
:) Sounds like a very cool idea!!! And the model looks gorgeous!! :) I will keep my eye on this one!! :) -Teal
:) Okie Dokie, here goes, i have a workable set of about 18 little mini's that add different planets as your start planet, load just one capital, or just 6 frigates, or all of them. One adds heavy strikecraft, another heavy weapons for the capitals, another low ship costs, one has low resources and one high, one has low research. I think it is ready for testing, i've been playing it since finishing the last mini last night, there could of course be more to come, and it is fairly
