I was thinking today about the Shattered Suns game that was such a disappointment, and i know we have talked here about having planets rotate, or a moveable solar system or galaxy. And while such ideas are interesting it always seemed there were too many variables, too much strain on the engine, or the graphical movement would throw off the combat system. But it came to me, haha, watching a planet rotate as my scouts went about their scouting, that if the skybox moved, even very very slowly,

i think i may have found something that will actually work, i will need to test it, but basically, take the recharge module for the advent, which is a sphere, which i also reduced when i used that mesh for the combat mines in StarFall, and basically use Newboerg's resize tool to make it a tenth of its size, then re-size it again to a tenth of the tenth. Basically a small pinpoint that maybe barely visible. The icon i will try to remove by removing the call for it in the entity file. I

I had an idea to remove the mesh from the call line. Or to disable the textures for the mesh to try an achieve the "invisible ship". The no mesh in the call line gave me a mini-dump. The removal of the textures from the call lines in the mesh simply rendered a textureless ship. Bland but certainly visible. What about the illuminator ability that uses the see through copies of itself as decoys? Is that a modifier for the mesh? Or to use a mesh for an effect rather

Also, build a culture center or two, or three... to spread your influence and slow or counter their's. If you can afford it, build a trade center or two...to build a chain of trade ships to boost income. Also, consider more capitals, they cost more, and of course are more horrible to lose, but they hold their own pretty well and boost culture and have a range of abilities the frigates, for all their cost-effectiveness, dont. Play closer to Home, dont expand too fast or

i use Norton 360, it works in the background and does what it needs to do, it runs its own scans, updates itself, and deletes what it needs to delete and popups occassionally to tell me so. It costs, which im not crazy about, but to be honest there is more than just viruses, more than just spyware, more than just rootkits, or bots, or browser re-directs, or false ads that look like your anti-virus software telling you that you are infected and n

:) $10 to be honest seems very very small, considering what they put into the expansion. $20 does not seem unreasonable. However i wish the game was a single game, by that what i mean is the expansion overwrites the main folder and there is no Vanilla AND Expansion, which effectively splits the community. But from a dev standpoint having those who buy the expansion still able to play with those who haven't is a move to keep the community together in the on-line games. That is my

I think i may have figured out what went wrong. Since the grav well for the star was set at "aesthetically" the same ratio as that for planets, i set it in the trillions. This was the movement and jump distances. So it was fine, until i hit the star well with a ship, which of course, probably means the game is calculating trillions of possibilites and therefor slows to a crawl. If i reduce the movement and jump distances for the star well to millions, or even to hundreds of thousands,

:) This is an actual mod, yes. It incorporates both changes to the bodies of entities in the game, as well as a re-size of maps to accomodate the increased sizes of the planets and stars. It is still in progress, so i am listing it as a beta, which means there are issues to resolve before it is completely playable. Can i make it merge ready? I am not very good with documentation, as to merge ready? I am unsure, we will see. Can i include Sins Plus planets f

Well, as of testing last night, there are still issues. I fixed the grav well re-sizing and it looked beautiful, however, the moment my scout touched the well, the frame-rate on the game ground down to what appeared to be about 1fps. In addition, the crossover from star icon to star image (mesh) still takes several scroll-backs or scroll-forwards, there must be some settings, or a setting that controls the change over range from one to the other. Although on the good side, the

Yes, you are right. Part of that is the size of the standard maps. But yes, the planet to planet and planet to star distances are increased in v2 as well as the re-size on the map, 6 so far. And changed out the meshes for the stars because was getting a breakup, which i think was the meshes were messed up. I copied and re-sized new ones and dropped them in and am not getting the breakup of the star image anymore. Am working on the maps again, had the first batch i uploaded this mornin

If you change the values for SyncronizedTargeting TRUE to SyncronizedTargeting FALSE will it produce a situation where each ship then tracks a single target, instead of having all ships target a single enemy? Sometimes i have seen capitals not target a nearby ship due to that ship being targeted by other friendlies, and rarely as you mentioned where the ships don't seem to target any ship at all. You may want to look at increasing the range of the weapons as well, perh

Population increase is too easy a way to get too much money. I mean, dont get me wrong, sometimes its cool, but i wanted it more

:) Ahhh.. i had the same issues with the re-sized Stars as you did. I played with the grav well sizes and was able to get the well to display properly and once the grav wells were sized right the jump behaviour of ships into the star properly jumped to the well and not to the center of the star as you are mentioning. I think the game works fine with the re-sizes, just when the numbers for the parts, such as the grav well are properly re-sized as well. With regards to making the
