What Spooky said in reply #9. The name calling was completely unnecessary and makes any complaint of you null and void IMO. It's not an exploit, it can be discussed if it is an undesired game mechanic that was overlooked. There is no prove either way so its okay to use it for now. You can achieve the same by buying Warp Stone. Yes, it's expensive but you can do it too so... Impersonating an admin is a clear violation of the ToU from Stardock. You should have made a complaint through t
My point was UB is plenty powerful against minions.
I've encountered a minion Erebus as UB once. I had an ooze centric build and it was no problem to survive 'the onslaught'. I don't think he had Horn of Battle active, that would be something to test. Anyway his full army of minions died and they cost me a bunch of health points but nowhere near enough to force me back. What about Armor of Vengeance? Usually it's rather expensive for what it does but against a minion hea
I looked through the lua files but couldn't fine anything on the individual flags.
Have you checked the _save.lua file of the map? That's where I'd start to look if I weren't that lazy atm. :D
Demigod has a million problems, but at the core it is the best real time strategy game I have ever played.
I couldn't agree more. I hope we will see an expansion and probably Demigod II with all the goodies for proper team matches, modding...
No, I didn't mean to imply that knowing how to use flag locks makes you a good player. There are a lot of other things you need to learn first. But seriously, think about it: how many times have you seen players standing under the locked XP flag on Catarct? Is he an experienced player? Have you ever played a close match on Zikurat with good players? What about Exile, Mandala, Brothers? Aren't flag locks common in lategame on those maps? What I meant to say was: If you are up against a
In addition to Shadow's answer, I think 2v2 blows.
QFT. A 4v4 or even a 3v3 adds so much variety to the game. In a 2v2 you are constantly fighting the same demigod combination. In a 5v5 on Mandala you will fight for the portals and it usually ends in a massive brawl where you have to avoid the hammer slam of a QoT-shielded Rook while running past Reguls mines taking down towers and fortresses at the same time. This is what Demigod should be about IMO. [e digicons]|-)[/e]</
Noob: Stands next to a locked flag and waits 45 seconds for the lock to exspire. Has no flag locks himself. Intermediate: Has flag locks after buying Catapults, will use them to lock portal regulary. Good player: Has >1 flag locks and tele scrolls at WR 7.5, can keep a flag locked indefinately. Pro: Will lock portals and artifact shop if necessary, can recapture a locked flag if the flag is defended (by interrupting the lock cast). Will not die in the process unless
Good job Spooky! [e digicons]k1[/e]
The nightmare AI cheats and gets more gold and XP than you. There is a way to level up faster though, play alone against several nightmare AIs. Works great on Prison. I did this for the lulz once: Once you get a hang of it it's quite easy to outplay the AI in every move. If you don't have AI teammates it's even easier. If you want to train for multiplayer, play against Sedna, Unclean
I have a few thoughts on that topic: What exactly is a 'premade'? Do you consider two players who know each other well and have played a lot of games together without using VoIP a premade? What if it is a 3v3, 4v4 or a 5v5 and they play with 1, 2 or 3 random players? Still a premade? What if I know one of my teammates is a bad ass player because he just wiped the floor with me in the previous game? Do I have to play on the other team now to even the o
So how does custom games help prevent unhandled exceptions and teammates disconnecting?
Simple, if the game lags or somebody disconects/quits early, rehost the game. Sometimes it takes a little while to get a 4v4 or 5v5 going. However when it works, it's so much fun. Just finished a 4v4 on Zikurat and it was one of the best games I've played so far - oh we lost btw. Doesn't matter, stats are nice to look at but if you want good games play customs! No AIs, map of your cho
Hi, sorry, didn't see this earlier. It happened last weekend and 3 of the 4 weekends before that IIRC. It seems to be working today. I guess whatever you did with the server a few days ago worked. Thank you so much! [e digicons]:D[/e]
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the time you put into this Spooky! [e digicons]k1[/e]
You have to be logged in for your friends list/updates to work and to PM somebody. It is quite possible a lot of players log in and stay logged in for hours to get messages from their friends. I'm often logged in for the whole afternoon although I will only play a few games per day. For the same reason I don't log out when I play an offline game. Maybe players keeping an eye on the games list in Impulse count too? I think the numbers are accurate (except for today obviously due to ser
Hmm.. Ubisoft you say. Any chance they will put Anno 1404 on there without their nasty copy protection?
That would be so awesome! Enjoy your time off Frogboy!
I just wanted to show you guys the issue I'm having.
Oh noes, it looks like scripts are not working properly for you. Have you tried another browser? Is the problem restricted to this thread or is it on the whole forum? Can you edit and save the HTML code? (I know, it would be a pain but... :/)
I think I found the Atari forum for Demigod. It has 2 threads and 5 posts, all by the same admin: http://forums.eu.atari.com/forumdisplay.php?f=703 Oh and it seems there is no English Demigod forum... [e digicons]o_O[/e]
I updated the guide to reflect the changes in patch 1.1. If you can think of anything that is missing or if you have a suggestion, please let me know. There are still plenty of cute pictures on my HDD. Please don't suggest guides to certain Demigods, I haven't played all of them yet and other people are probably better suited to give advice on QoT, Torchy, Sedna...
I updated my guide to reflect the changes in 1.1 http://forums.demigodthegame.com/353474 Thank you for the compilation Sean, I use it quite often when I'm trying a new Demigod or when I want to improve my skills! [e digicons]k1[/e]
I don't play Rook online but I think those are reasonable requests.
I enjoy playing Demigod a lot now and they really did an incredible job on fixing connectivity! I think most of the negative posts happen when something doesn't work out like drops in Pantheon, lags, when somebody lost badly. More often than not it is something Stardock and GPG are not responsible for or didn't forsee (like people leaving the game queue in Pantheon after match making). And most people don't post when they are happy. So here I am, had a few very nice games yesterday, l
