This bug has been in beta for many months. It's quite annoying and I also got used to it that I know how to get around it. It sucks to watch your enemy get away while your demigod just stands there. Please fix!!
Blitz64
Every game, you restart all over. So Yes.
Yes, you can play it like the above person mentioned. ATI probably added shader3.0 support to 9series as well. You'll get like 5 frames per second since I tried it on my 9800.
Yes, you can do it. hit tilde ~ and it'll show you the health of the enemy. Hit tilde ~ during in game a few times to toggle between tower, enemy, allies, and demigod only health bards.
Both are wrong. You have to load impulse, not demigod the game. Within impulse, click on Community tab at the top, then click Games on the bottom. You'll see all the custom games list that are waiting and in progress.
Based on the logs, nearly everyone plays pantheon and skirmish games online, not custom games. I can't tell you why that is though.
That's because custom games gives an unfair advantage to players. People can have an arrange team in custom games. Also you don't know what level of skill the other players are. So most of the time, you are dominating or getting dominated in custom gam
I notice Today when looking at the custom game list inside impulse, it shows game name with country code (US) or (CA) etc. This is a cool feature since I want to join US games only. This should be implemented inside Demigod lobby game list as well.
Rook was overpowered in beta. I think they nerf him too much or buffed up the other demigods too much. I stop using rook now, as he isn't as powerful as he once was.
Your logs may show thousands of people playing and lots of games going on. What it doesn't show is those thousands of players might have spent 30 minutes just to get in a game. I know for myself, I spend 30 minutes to get into a game that I play for 30 minutes. Yes, the game is addictively fun that I have to torcher myself through the crappy connection to get a game.
I used free shipping from both amazon and newegg for other stuff. they are both fast, usually around 3 days. The slow delivery ones are from other crappy companies that I don't want to name.
cpu, videocard, an memory. Just make sure you are above simspeed 2 and you should be all set. If anyone is below 2, the game is too laggy and I usually just disconnect.
I think they said most players are playing online by looking at the logs. But it doesn't show that it takes 30 minutes to connect to 1 game. I've been playing about 2 games a day but spend 30 minutes connecting and 30 minutes playing. Yea the logs show that I played 2 games, but it doesn't show the amount of time everyone wasted trying to get in the game. Connection sucks, they know it, it'll get fix eventually...
Please add custom mod support in the future.
See this thread on /nosound for improve performance http://forums.demigodthegame.com/348232
Make sure you turn graphics all the way to low or off. Also turn audio to low settings. Also try /nosound option which has helped some people with performance. Since your simspeed is 0 or 1, then the cpu is the bottleneck. Try to overclock it.
It runs fine in service pack 2.
I think Demigod will match or beat past record of selling 100k in 3 weeks. The reason is the Stardock fanbase has grown since last year. Also it is easier to market Demigod then Sins. We'll just have to wait next week for the first week npd results.
It was 25 in beta but at 25, every Rook build ends up the same at level 25. So they lowered it to 20 so there are different unique builds.
The problem with the 2 bad or mediocre reviews is that IGN and Gamespot is the most popular. Like 10x more popular than the other website that gave good reviews to Demigod. You are right though, the reviews shouldn't not effect it on the road to 100k. But it will affect it somewhat, maybe 10% lost, who knows. Reviews also effect new franchises like demigod more than Madden. So they would have sold 1million copies this year, now it's just 900k or something.
Even frogboy recommends to use this gameranger if you are having issues with the impulse service.
I know one of the things on our list is to try to let there eventually be easy single player modding as well as multiplayer modding but that's down the line.
It is planned but nothing official. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/337831/page/2/#2045341
How about split up the regions like you mention so USA can only play with USA guys. Europe can only play with Europe, etc. I think most people don't care about playing internationally especially with the lag.
Where is this Monk's guide to networking demigod?
I just love how Stardock trick so many people in beleiving AI players are real humans. Most people fall for it including me in the beginning. I guess people aren't used to 1. seeing AI players online and 2. AI players replacing real humans after disconnect.
Awesome review!
