It was my first time playing the beta yesterday. Is there an option to attack move? in most rts games, it's A + left click. It didn't seem to work and I don't like having to keep clicking on enemies.
Can someone explain to me the purpose of a publisher (stardock, thq, squarenix)? Couldn't gpg publish games themselves? Do they give like 20% of the profit to the publisher? Publishers advertise, create the box, dvd, manual, and ship them to walmart? is that it? I'm also surprise they chose SquareEnix instead of stardock. League of Legends by Riots, a small startup company, will be publishing their own game I think. 
I saw that message when I preordered too but it doesn't mention anything about a Beta. It should say Betas are not currently available with preorders but you will get them in Beta2.
I think we get this question once a day. Too bad gpg doesn't put a BIG RED WARNING saying beta isn't available. They just put a little asterick saying *subject to beta open and close dates but one would have no idea when those dates are unless they read the whole forum.

Yes it will support pixel shader 2. I'm too lazy to dig out the post from the developer. Supreme Commander supports ps2 and this game is suppose to have less requirements than supcom. Just relax and wait for it. I'm waiting too
Is there a command I run to see the sim speed or frames per second in the game?

Mines map is the same as last beta, no performance gains. There's a slight performance gain with the atlantis map. 2gb ram Geforce 7100
You have to wait until Beta 2 wish is end of November or December
I wish I could give my beta to you guys to play. I can see why they don't want new people to get the beta so the same questions/bugs don't reappear. I have the beta but it doesn't run on my laptop :( I will eventually get a new desktop next year to play but not right now.

The Eee does not have a good videocard so it won't run Demigod. Even if it does, it will do worst than doom3 1 frame per second. The Eee is not for hardcore gaming.

Not recommended. I think you need a geforce 7600 or higher.
November 20th, 2008 Wish it was earlier though. I would pick the last Thurs of Nov but that's Thanksgiving. So hopefully something to play for the holiday.
Another thing I don't like about the recipe is that I made the wrong thing. One of the items didn't even let me disassemble. Once I disassemble the wrong item, i had to spend time figuring out how to get the right item. Instead of using recipes, just let us buy that item we want and sell old items back for higher percentage of gold.
A game that uses recipes well is World of Warcraft. The recipes in WoW is even more complicted than Dota. It works in WoW because the players has all the time in the world to learn the recipe and go to different shops to find where the items are. For Dota, It's hard for a new person to figure out the recipe system and be in the middle of battle. The player wants to get back right into fighting instead of spending 5 minutes on what items to get and wher
The cartoony graphics of LoL actually appeals to me. It looks somewhat like diablo3 from some screen shots. It also looks to be more hardcore/competetive like dota. Since I already preordered this, I might end up getting both. This for spring 2009. LoL for 2010??
I think there are enough room for 2-3 more dota clones/genre. I do wish there are more of them. I hope both of these games demigod and league of legend does well. Guinsoo is involve but I don't think it really means anything. You can be a great map editor but not create a good game. Just look at how bad the diablo creators did with their flagship studio. The timing in 2009 seems kinda bad but it's still too early to tell. There's demigod
I kinda agree with Stardock in this situation. If you can't play the game (your computer is too old) then I can see a full refund. I understand the game is not out yet but you got a beta (test drive). Your case just seems to be buyers remorse and I kinda felt that way too. Ever book a flight, car, or cruise? Some of them, you can't cancel or else there's a penalty. JetBlue, Canival cruise, Travelocity offers same % of penalty.  
It does seem like there are more bugs, but we got another map. the new map maybe caused half of the new bugs. We will probably get more bugs as they add more demigods and maps.
