HAHAHAH STATIONARY FREAKIN' BASE HAHAHAH This so going to be one of the "OVER 9000" 's. I will make it so. IT'S A STATIONARY FREAKIN' BASE people! On topic, I agree with everything posted. I don't mind the idea of packing up a bases and moving it though. Investing 18k into a starbase midgame then having it in a useless position late

PAH PAH PAH PWND!
Maybe it's because I've been playing entrenchment and LF's actually stay within 90% of their attack range, but seriously, the amount of LF's you can pump out will rape his carriers. I don't know how someone spamming LCarriers wins.
Try booting up in safemode. See if that stops the connection for failing. If so I'd guess malware.
Will my [e digicons] LOL!
Seemed a bit uncalled for. Maybe edit the post with an appology? (Dinoff)
Good. Now figure out how to fix the non moving Tec StarBase! HAHAh Annatar, You're our only hope .
Yup it certainly does. The only issue though is that by giving movement abilities to a starbase, those icons overwrite the construction icons. At least on the Argonev anyways.
Sounds interesting. I'd prefer it to be friendly targets only though.
Well, I'm not wanting stars per se, I'm mor interested in planet to planet as it is now with phase gates, but between planets in different star systems. What is this " TeleportTowardsTarget " you speak of. Sounds interesting. Could you make it work betwee
So with the implementation of Entrenchment, do you guys find it's becoming more about bigger fleets? With starbases and harder defenses, smaller fleets seem less efficient than one big fleet. Any ideas how to alleviate this with higher defenses? I've thought of making all repairs to hull cost credits and some metal/crystal. This way, raiding can still have an effect even if the building isn't destroyed. Thoughts on that? &nbs
Ok I've got the Feds, NEO and FROE ships and stats all done in a spreadsheet. Just need to work them into ship files now. Had a bit of a pause because I'm not sure how different ship entities will be in Entrenchment compared to now. I'm going to save the liberatis for last as they will be the hardest to implement. It seems like starbases, if I can get them to move, jump and produce frigates will be the ideal mothership for the Hive. If anyone has any information on how
Fellow modders, I have created some custom maps that are designed around star systems rather than planets. The issue is that phase gates do not work between stars so now they are quite useless. I was wondering if anyone out there could devise a way to mod a phase gate that is a star gate. This would mean that jumping between planets in different star systems is instantaneous much like a wormhole. If that's not possible, what about making phase gat
Could be that I just haven't played a game long enough yet to encounter a fully armed and operational battle station!. I'll get some time to play farther than the 2 hour point tonight.
You know what's odd? I haven't even used one of these cruisers yet, nor felt the need to. I've taken out buildings and starbases just fine without them. Actually, probably easier without having to deal with the micro.
Download "Router Check" should fix the problem. It's only about an 11 - 12 minute download. OH SNAP, That was mean. I'm sorry. Turn your router off, unplug it completely and leave it for 15 minutes. Then plug it all back in and see if it helps.
I'm not sure I comlpetely agree. I like how the developers are going with it. Improvements here and there while not focusing on the graphics too much. I'd much rather see gameplay improvements right now. I'm also more in agreement with Haree78. I think bailknight did a great job, but that style is not for me. It's really over the top, something you'd see in command and conquer. I'd prefer a more toned down realistic approach.
We were talking about that in another thread for my mod Annatar, remember? I wanted to make trade ships have no weapons, then have a research that gives them guns. If you're assumptions are right, that would make things much slicker!
[quote who="Cataclysm2000" reply="17" id="1989205"]I think the general consensus here is 1) Starbases need more range 2) Starbases should move 3) Starbases should have built-in flak 4) Starbases should have more squads 5) Vas starbases should be able to be deconstructed and reconstructed OR Vas should get a torpedo cruiser. 6) Players need a reason to fight starbases. They need to provide some sort of heavy obstacle for enemies. How about working in Phase
Very Nice! Thank you. Will this be Entrenchment Compatible?
The only reason I want them to jump is because I'll be creating a Faction that builds everything from mother ships. Mobile factories that are ginormous capital ships. The star bases just seem perfect for that if they can jump. In vanilla entrenchment (lol) I definitely want starbases to remain stationary. No doot aboot it.
I didn't get a chance to convertdata last night before bed. What are starbases classified as, buildings or ships or are they a completely new entity? More importantly, will we be able to make them ship like (being able to move AND phase jump)? Lots of possibilities opened up with this expansion!
You, Kitkun, Please explain how to use ConvertData to make binary into txt. PLEASE! EDIT Thank you Very Much, Kitkun
Hello, How is it possible to run the "ConvertData" exe with vista? Merci!
Well at least it's an answer! Thanks
