COLOR made Master of Magic stand out. Just go play a game of MOM vs Elemental and you'll see what I mean. MUSIC the happy go lucky fanfaire music just kept one playing and playing and playing.... SIMPLE combat rules have mages throw fireballs, clerics heal and dispell undead, shoot arrows with archer units, charge with cavalry, melee types for defense and throw spells with heroes/leaders w/advantages for terrain and remaining on defense. Some 10 year olds happen to be very bright and perceptive beyond an adult who usually makes open stupid statements like yours about the devs and how much they play.
I'd like to see a "turn counter" so these people that are giving you these ideas show just how many turns they've played and state things like the ai doesn't do this or this needs to be added because this happened or didn't happen. I think ideas should come from those who actually have played the game 1000's of turns not 50 as I can see too many people already stating things that would be there in the end game had they played that far. The counter should be Impluse client based stored so they
Wasn't that screenshot released when the game still had RTS battles....months ago?
Yes it's an ancient screenshot and long before Brad even stated in the forum that the OP never read or looked up that there wouldn't be real time battles as such in the game or EPIC battles. The OP just wants to be a troll like all the rest of them out there just grabbing at sticks and stones of niggly things not in the game or
thats interesting because i almost always have way to many resources and gold by the middle game. i can never use it all.
Same here, obviously the OP doesn't know how to MINE stuff or plant new cities by gold resources. He just wants to be yet another troll who whines to Stardock about the game. My dad always used to say "If you can't say anything GOOD about the GAME, then don't say anything at all". My dad was a smart
/not signed as that kind of battle would weigh to heavy on older computers. Everyone doesn't own an i7 quad core with 8gb of memory and the fastest video card out there. I'm glad they went to the smaller army sizes as I was a proponent in asking for that many eons ago with good reasoning as I've stated above. Stardock in its infinite wisdom saw the light and removed the twichfest game and brought back the elements of the turn based game which is always best for strategy and tactical g
Because we're playing against AI you need to throw balance out the window for the most part when it concerns the ai. If the game is balanced the ai will never be worth playing against. Those crying for balance are usually multiplayers and you've already stated you wouldn't sacrifice the single player experience for the multiplayer one. Balance has always been an issue in most all PC strategy games and it is what ruins most of them that follow that lie that the game must be balanced. W
Some people like SP; some like MP; some like both;
Let me fix that for you: MOST people like SP, a HANDFUL like MP and a FEW like both. It's been proven time and time again the majority of gamers out here prefer SP games. Why the MP crowd acts like they matter is just a laugh and shows their level of IQ. MP brings the riff raff onto the forums and even in the games. Cheating and griefing abound online. Why I've see police cars and tanks appear in an Age of
I like the intention but I get concerned that a real-time discussion doesn't allow everyone who wants to participate to do so and than only a small contingent of die-hard supporters of Stardock/Elemental will be heavily influencing the direction of the game. I'd rather like to see a more public version of a bug/feature implementation list, with related threads, almost like a forum but with each thread about a specific feature/bug/request, etc. I
Ok, I was 22 when MOM came out. I loved it. But, come on, the game was broken. It had no balance. It had no AI. Can anyone say: Highmen Paladins (I get the races over the years confused from other games - but these suckers were spell immune, on horses and kicked everythings butt)..... The AI would often have anemic amounts of cities and units on the hardest settings. Any focused strategy AT ALL with any
Finally a TRUTHFUL review and one that Stardock and Brad an Elemental deserves. It has all the elements of that review. Great review. Happy for all at Stardock and Brad and the game itself. It just shows a GOOD reviewer knows how to look past the insignificant things that only pests and trolls try to find in every game.
Quoting sagittary, reply 5 Quoting Fightingweasles, reply 4Will the turns be simultantious or my turn everyone elses turn in order? Considering the reliance in the single player of seeing an enemy unit and moving at it to start a fight, if they are moving away at the same time this obviously can't work the same. But then waiting on up to 16 people to take a turn would be far more arduous? I hope that it's simult
I'll try not to mention things that have already been mentioned alot on these forums (lack of diversity in spells/factions/units, AI to easy ect.)
You just did so you didn't TRY very well now did you? I also think the part about not being able to remarry is just another great part in eliminating a race/faction. I do this all the time in Tropico go after the entire family and wipe out the wife and children and this keeps revolts and rebels down. :) It also makes
The game is not ready for multiplayer, developers need to spend more time on magic, combat and technology before multiplayer should be even considered.
I agree 150% with this. Multiplayer should just be forgotten right now perhaps even a year before trying to implement that and have to deal with the screams of unbalanced unbalanced unbalanced of that part as well. They don't realize it will never be balanced and since the game is still so far out in
I think multiplayer should be put on the backburner until the main game is what Brad invisioned first. There's no need bringing in other unwanted elements to the game right now. Multiplayer was always an afterthought for this game and it will just start a new uproar about balance and more whinning and crying and boo hooing.
Please make sure it's for FANS of the game only and ban all those who post nothing but negativity about the game there. If you do this then I and my friends will post there. :)
Quoting Deleuzian, reply 293 No, seriously, I wouldn't be posting wisecracks at the moment if I was working for Stardock. In a thread where the CEO posts his everlasting and humble apology to the world. Dude, it's just a game. You need a better sense of proportion. By the way, do you even own Elemental, because your comments read a lot like someone who hasn't actually played it. [
There are best games of the genre like MOM of course, but, there are only 3 best overall AI and AI adjustment games. Those are: AOW:origional (you could set each ai to a different type of play from passive, to aggressive, to torch n burn to defensive and offensive or you could set each one to random and the game would pick a play pattern for them every game. Too bad the AI in AOW:O liked to build too many siege engines and run up and down the roads back n forth. HOMM
My 2nd week of 4 days off playing and it's still so much fun. Where did yesterday go to? lol
But they have made a big mistake here
No they haven't made a big mistake here, you just have a crappy computer that you want them to fix the game to work on. hahahah
Yet why do the latter insist on taking it personally and criticising the critics??
Because the GOOD must alwasy DROWNED out the bad. ;)) You can go with them too. :))
and those that can run it are constantly running into bug after bug, the game is broken and clearly unfinished.
Wrong! I can run it constantly without any bug after bug and the game is not broken and was stated it would never be finihed. So you are just trolling around like the rest of the trolls looking for your attention for today. Brad doesn't owe me or us anything. Besides he's already given what I consider an apology and made new promises of a better tomorrow
Oh the beauty of it. It is remarkable. It is in just too perfect of a condition to open. I will keep it for years and years unopened now. :)) I will be a millionaire someday.
I'll wait for the OFFICAL FIX since yours could be flawed and or screw up the game later on down the line causing things like slowing down of game or CTD's or graphics tears....things like that. ;)
I think they changed that in HOMM V Raruto.
