Another thing I thought of... If this existed (and done right)... 2 players could take control of one empire from the start of the game... I mean... talk about a "this is how you play sins" teaching tool! a vet could literally help a newb do well (and prolly have a bit more fun than getting quickly killed off)

So. how many times has an ally lagged out... or was forced to leave/ go afk because of real life? (stupid real life... i mean... we have to eat... and drink... and sleep... and eat again... endless.) How awesome would it be... to have some sort of pact or treaty that allows one person to take control of parts or all of the other persons empire? Say... a fire drill goes off in your room (real life story btw) and you can no longer play... bummer r

nightraider... just please going take your unfunness somewhere else. Everyone knows its unfun... its the "unfun version" which is what the devs called it. Go back to entrenchment and dont visit till 1.0

well... i have no idea what research, metal, and crystal pacts do yet... but they will prolly be important. stealing tech doesnt work cause... every single tech is different between races... you could only steal tech of the same race... doesnt seem to work... (can you immagine an advent with purswacive econ? or a vasari with the big red button? 0_o) stealing income... decreasing ship build time... its a diplomatic ship... not a Sova. now... the current undermine d

ima sure that the menue music will change... ima sure the entrenchment mucis is a placeholder nothing more. ( i like the entrenchment music) Ok, the new ais are wack... earning... what seems to be 2.5X what an unfair earns.... so.. whats that 5x a normal player. Thats freaking awsome. except... the ai have no idea what to do with all that cash.... it was just pilling up for them... after a very short test they all had like 10000 stuff sitting around.\ T

these are great ideas... for something other than a diplomatic cruiser. imho. A spy cruiser/frig would be intresting... maybe a cruiser that doesnt have diplomatic immunity... but doesnt have to follow phase lanes.... ? and infallable phase jumps should affect them. It should be a higher tech level than the diplomatic cruiser. then you have your diplomat and your spy.

I cant wait to see what effects this has as far as multiplayer... uasually if you see a guy with 2 civi labs you build nothing but military labs and rush... but if you do that you might find some "diplomatic" cruisers on your planets and nothing you can really do about it.

[quote who="Agent of Kharma" reply="5" id="2452663"] If it does need fixing 1v1, is this even possible on the current random map? You would never want to do balancing on a random map. You would always want to balance against a non-random map which is mirrored for both opponents. Hoshikos are simply not as good as they are said to be- I strongly disagree. I think they are the best, or certainly one of the best, support cruiser

I did a bit of testing in my other thread. fighters do counter LRMs very, very well. without kiting... I knocked out 2 lrms before the illums reached my carriers... and then had to run 2 carriers to the next grav well before the last illum died. (this was 14 illums vs 6 carriers btw) Illums were mircored to use side beams btw. And... In responce to amish... straight skrims do not counter disciple/seeker rush. While the fleet costs are identical... the skrims did not kill
