Better yet, you can just sit an wait till pirates to come and kill them for easy levels for capital ships.
Nuttygamer
What capital ship are you building? My recommendation is not building the colonization cap ship but rather one that can do more damage initially, perhaps the battleship or the planetary bomber and then use a colony ship as the colonizer instead. Also, you might also not want to do too much fleet research until you have several planets ready to go. If you are playing Tech, it is recommended that you don't do military research but rather civilian research get up to 3 civ research labs, once
Currently hating steam for finally releasing Sins on there. However, because of time RL issues. Dynamic Movement is now set in stone.
I personally build like 1 per planet Personal priority order when it comes to building the last 3 items of the tech Trade ports (have as many as you like)(because of desert planets, and tec planet, I usually end up having like 5 on desert planet 1 Research base (civilian or military) (1 per planet until I have like 8 of each) 1 Refinery and / or Culture Center (1 should be more than enough for both)
Already been and answered just look around. Just to shorten it, No it won't be compatible because you order directly from stardock not steam.
-.- Really?! still going strong?! Someone start a flame war, that bound to shut this thread down for good. Better yet, I'll start Sins suck. (Ok, I love the game to the core)
Good micro in Sins is the difference between victory and defeat. It's all about position and tactics, trying to move individual units to mitigate enemy damage output and maximize your own. Most units are forward shooters and have sluggish turn speeds. Just because the game moves in slow motion doesn't mean there isn't micromanagement.
To be honest, that is why I love playing against AI. Don't
T'is troll tost (post).
TBH, I would prefer that if they released an expansion version. I mean it is basically a massive fix to the engine, plus maybe several hundred files, why not just do the same as it was done the last 2 expansion, sure make it cost $20 but not $40.
Just my two bits: I NEVER play campaigns anymore on any game. Just the single player skirmish type maps or multiplayer comp stomp games. As long as there is a good AI and a good save feature, I'll approve of almost any game.
Wow. I though most people bought games so they can enjoy the story plot and the game play affecting the story plot. Although I can see why, these days with MW3, and stuff, m
It will be interesting to see what will happen to the game and community now that the game is now available on Steam.
@Zombie That is what I am saying.
I wish for people who have bought the game from Stardock aka Gamestop will give people who have bought the game before this update will be given free copies.
Yes you would be able too. Just like Steam. Without the annoying footprint.
The irony of statement is that it is now available on Steam.
What algorithm are you using now? The box-infront-of-ship method? Or have you guys moved to A* already? Can you add more function than the basic seek and flee, instead can you add other functions like pursuit (I don't mind have to pay research money during game to get this function) or even wander or stuff like that.
Mod any class of ship with Tech star base self-destruct ability. With regards that this would inspire a turtle strategy, I don't think this would work. One way to counter this turtling is to allowing the damage to not only affect enemies but allied and owned forces alike. Ok, I hear another complaint, using this ship as suicidal ships, kamikaze style. Easily countered, send in the LRMs (that is the point of them, prevent kamikaze attacks).
I am in full agreement with Thoumsin, the iron engine can use a lot major upgrades. For example, when it comes to back-face culling. Right now, with Sins every model is rendered onto the camera whether or not it is in camera. You can tell by this is when if you rotate to a side in which you look into the the galaxy you can see other planets and the buildings surrounding the planets even ones that are halfway across the systems. Also, if you look at a model, and the number of polygons being re

Diplomacy, like what everyone above me says. Also, all of my mods are updated and any mods that have entrenchment or vanilla version aren't updated anyways.
I think this topic is very limited. However if were to say "Are there any movies, TV shows, or books that inspire you to play SINS" would generate more response. To be honest, I haven't read any books that inspired me to play SINS, however I have to be honest TV has. For example, which I believe is a Star Trek classic, the Defiant's battle to get thru a blockade to get thru to Deep Space Nine. I imagine each major battle as a possible re-enactment of that great battle.

However, I have roleplayed as a fleet admiral commanding my fleets against all enemies.
The point of these mods is to alter the gameplay but not the gameplay mechanics. For example, me playing either this mod, or even the star trek mod, you would see different personality when it comes to the gameplay, however, you still have to build up your empire deal with research and diplomacy etc. With regards to the update of DM, with other priorities in my life, the new numbers are working, however I will not be updating to the final version till I have gotten the beta version of
As it turns out, the values that I think that would work didn't work out at all. So all of the values are being scrapped and I have to rework it. So a patch to the current Dynamic mod will not be released for at least another 2 weeks
Wow I haven't used Firefox 7 for at least a month.
It would be easier if it was Co-op like portal, Ironclad can just open a orange portal, and all the applicant has to do is to open a blue one and walk thru I Think With Portals.
