(with 2 for Disorientation and the others for fully upgraded armor/HP and attack) Well. it is the only damage dealing ability capable of hitting antistructure cruisers. Personally I don't like that, yeah the AI spams them but if they're supposed to counte

Or for that do i need to have my own culture? It increases, the loading tip says it does it slower than your own culture, but thats bullshit, my impressions are they increase allegiance like your culture.. Indeed, as far as I can tell allied culture is as good as your own, m

So it sounds like quite a few of you don't want DRM because it forces you to pirate and play hacked versions of the game [e digicons]:|[/e] Software is not a physical thing being exchanged between two parties- instead it is a infinitely clone-able commodity. DRM as much as is possible protects the investment made by developers from copies being made as much as a Patent protects inventors from someone copying their design. Unfortunately in the case of software

If this becomes an issue in 5's, the only possible thing I can think of is that the games early speed boost via Alloy disproportionally affects build times and not attack times, making an Orky build faster than it should. This is just wild speculation on my part, because I've never directly encountered what "all skilled players know", tha
We are not making factions from scratch. To speed up the process, we will be using the entity files as a spring board and only change what is needed. The majority of the project that starts from scratch will be the models and textures. Other than that, everything else is more of an edit rather than something entirely brand new. But it won't feel that way. Haha
Unless you are doing a simple model swap out this is a gr
You don't go Steam because of its DRM; steamworks DRM titles are cracked and pirated within the day. Heck, I've even got a recent pirated release sitting in my game folder that had Steamworks on it. I never pirate but in this case it was a completely new genre to me, with no demo Ended up playing for 20 minutes only. Doesn't make it right, but I don't have any regrets either. My opinion; DRM-free of course. Pirat
Steamworks is free for developers and integrates many useful features that really aren't worth recreating from scratch.
A custom faction from scratch runs around 1800+ hours to fully complete by my estimates. You might be able to complete one of those factions in a years time or partially complete 2 or 3 with 3 people on the team.

I can only assume that the devs have programmed the game to generate a terran whenever the GSD asks for a DLC planet to generate....probably just a temporary fix to the phase lane bug.... Seems like an ideal time to get that 6000 population achievement!
</p
Yeah, I agree that the amount of ships is a big part of it. While not having enough video / cpu power to render is one problem, games lag with big fleets even if you are panned way out. Adding corvettes to the game did not help lag. One game I played someone made like 800 corvettes and there was a 2 second lag every time he gave his fleet a move order.
Well, you can't build 800 corvettes with normal
I'd go with steamworks if I were interested in making money. If your ok with being altruistic then go DRM free.

Yep, the beta needs updated for maps to work correctly. It also affects pre-set maps in the same way. They've noted it's fixed internally so we're all waiting on the patch before we can test again.
I'm simply making a statement based on basic math. I don't honestly think anything will change as this game is primarily balanced against SP. It should be balanced for PvP and my numbers are solid for that. The game for the longest time was overshadowed by the illuminator bug. Whats funny is it resulted in a more balanced game at the time.
