it is not supposed to increase it.. it is not written in the description.. maybe if it does increase refinrey income, we should tell the developers it is not written in the information of the specialization..
I'm a noob currently getting my feet wet in the single player.
Hmm, for singleplayer, in the middle and late game if you build many heavy cruisers and carrier cruisers, you cannot fail.. Heavy cruisers generally counter everything in large amounts (they doesn't really have damage penalty against any ship type), and AI never builds enough bombers to be a threat against these if you have some fighters. Heavy cruisers are good against things that are

You only need to build 1-2 extra civilian labs, man, it takes like 1-2 extra minutes :D Just think, those new planets are good ones.. Ferrous gives huge metal income, Barren gives 44 logistic slots, ocean is like a terran planet, and greenhouse is.. well, thats not a huge asset :D If you play Advent or Vasari you will need 3-4 labs tp get trade anyway, only
I have found a minor problem, the Vasari envoys first ability, the one that gives ship build time bonus I think, and coloured red. looks strange, not smooth red fog, instead it looks like red cubes, like it is pixelized.. I guess nobody cares because who uses envoys anyway :D though sometimes against AI I like to use them if i have an allied AI.
Sure, but they have a fairly high pop cap to start with. No matter, though, I care very little for the 'lore'.
the game too.. so many incorrect things..
which doesn't really make much sense lore wise
its just a feature, they gave all races 1 population reserch for 1 planet type TEC Ocean, Vasari Ferrous, Advent Barren. Maybe the Advent likes Barren, almost similar to desert worlds, though with hostile atmosphere (or no atmosphere at all..)
I am happy that AI's now attack the pirate base :) I have seen twice my ally do this.. Though with full late game fleet :D I am curious whether they do this every time they have the chance, or were these isolated events.. So no more locked out from the game AI's by the starbases on random maps? Sounds interesting.
I wish there was a bit more incentive to industrialize
there is, many players believe it to be OP compared to socialization because everyone is a trade lover.. keep in mind that social exploitation is only good for high population, high allegiance planets, while the other is for the opposite.
Check the income of a fully socialized Advent homeworld with allure of the unity fully researched.
lol, no, I mean on planets with low allegiance, social specialization may not worth it.. :D but not sure, haven'tt done the math.. I know on homeworlds this is brutal, I myself always use it.. (in that 3 games lol i have played with the dlc).
The social specialization is well worth it on high pop worlds,
allegiance can have an effect on it..
It's a huge money and resources sink
noone said it will be free :D
My last game testing out 1.5, on wave 3 or 4 the pirate threat was at max level
this is why most players turn them off.. me too, I cannot fight another AI at the same time, and i always end up being the receiving faction if I have pirates on, due to the ai income cheat.. and losing 1 planet is not good as i cannot defend it, or i lose a planet to the enemy ai which is as bad as the frmer option..
Well I always put culture spreading buildings at my fronts to help me and hurt the enemy.
me too, but trade is way more efficient if you want to boost your economy.. though without culture many people miss a nice addition to income..
Yes but what if you couple social specialization with culture spreading buildings which the specialization is geared towards to get higher allegiance?
that 10 percent will not change the situation much i guess.. only at the homeworld and neighbouring planets
anyway i hate being obligated to put trade everywhere if I want a good economy... there aren't much of alternative choices.. people say it will help trade economy better, this specialization system, but I think it shoud provide an excellent alternative to it..
Does anyone else feel that 11 logistics buildings on this planet is just a tad bit much? It seems a little broken that it can fully support a tech line and still have a refinery, trade port, and broadcast center.
after thinking a bit, it seems too much, especially if you consider it doesnt need research to colonize and it is lightly guarded.. it could be like 28 to be unique but not reaching the desert planet values, or make it heavily guarded and make it
we will see how things turn out, after 1 day we cant say anything for sure..
but my gut feeling is the industrial specialization is going to be too good compared to the social one and will need a nerf
I feel the opposite, i think they are equally good, as social spec. can easily give you huge number of extra credits (and extra pop growth), consider having a 700 pop terran as capital planet... you will never get this much trade increase from any planet.. and it was said before that there will
There are some premade maps that have some planets as random, or weighted colonizeable or something, but your best bet is either to use random maps, or build your own one (if you can) :) If I remember well the map named SECRETS have some planets as random, I remember from a mod having huge ice planets on this map, and those are not in the original game, but were on the map. The planets in the middle, chokepoints.
I think social spec is better than the other.. on high pop planets it does wonders...
The specialization bonuses vary by planet type. Volcanic and Ferrous worlds get much higher industrial specialization bonuses than anything else.
Yes, but they cannot provide space for much trade ports.. consider building some factories to take advantage of the build time bonus and the trade income increase is even smaller. Ferrus worlds suprprised me with that 16 civilian slots (if i remember the number right).. But t
Tec Loyalist
Same for Vasari Rebel, it writes the envoy needs 8 supply.. I guess the situation is the same for all factions..
In my second game as Advent against hard AI's I was able to get a good economy from like 5 planets, my home was 700+ population, and i had a ferrus with full industry and full trade ports, and made my trade chain the longest possible. It was surprisingly good. I guess the key for the specialization is numbers, you need to know what numbers make them efficient, and what planet is suitable for which type.
I think on higher population planets the social specialization is better... On Terran and Ocean planets to have 700 like population.. The industrial spec does not give sufficient bonus I think to outmatch this high population. You need 3-6 levels of industrial thing to be useful, but still the trade port income increase is like 50%, not that much for that huge cost, but have to test it and see numbers, it is just my feeling that the higher population is better.. Actuall
Someone said it was AI fix
It is made for singleplayers, the AI is vastly improved, i played 2 games against hard AI's and the difference was shocking (pre 1.5 hard wasnt a challenge for me).. It was so much fun.. I can only guess the outcome of this online.. even earlier spamming.. And btw my early game strategy has changed too due to this 2 factory setup, and I cannot acclimatize myself to the special
