Why doesn't it start right away? I don't see much logic in this.
Coma
Well, nevermind. It worked... but I got into a 3v3 with only one other person. It's still different - previously I would get in much faster.
Title. It wasn't like this before the last patch. It actually worked pretty well for me previously...
Uh, so what if this post is an explanation? The first post is always on top. Nothing happens if people reply. Get over yourself.
You become the god by being the most powerful Demigod on your side, and defeating the other side. Makes perfect sense to me.
hmmm, unfortunatly, in a wide amount of case, the pirating thing is not a "money shortage", but a "why spend 40$ when i can have it free? i'm smart... bwhahahaha"
You are wrong. I'm talking as a teenager. We don't have money to throw around. There are many people who buy games... you can see them on forums, marching together to burn all the pirates on the forum. 99% of them are people who don't live with their parents anymore (= they have their own income).
And if your DG isn't in attack range, and needs to move literally one step, he won't. He just won't attack. The tips say you should press Alt while ordering a move to make it an "aggressive move", but I found that many times that doesn't work as expected. (sometimes the DG will just walk past creeps)
It wouldn't be too fun either, because you'll probably end up in gangbang situations very often.
But this game mode, I think, was supposed to be more of a relaxed PvE mode. You know, when you want a break from the PvP team v team game.
I always loved Hero Defense/Siege maps in WC3. I'm all for this :) Please add this!
You have a much higher opinion of humanity then I do.
Your opinion is wrong, then. There's a large amount of people on these forums who have admitted to pirating Demigod before buying it.
Wait, so instead of using a direct host/client system like used in most RTS games, you are going to use a host/client system for the people who can't connect, and P2P for the rest? Seems very roundabout. Your original goal with using P2P was reducing latency... if you do this, it's pointless. Just use a traditional host/client system. It works well, only one person has to configure their router or whatever, and the difference in responsiveness is not that noticeable.
You can change it in the Impulse options... instead of being annoying and saying something like "Or do I have to find a pirated version to do this?", all you had to do was check the Preferences window.
From the Demigod/movies folder, move the following files: dg_amd_logo.bik, dg_gpg_logo.bik, dg_esrb.bik
It can't tell whether they're pirates or not. It's just the update check and keep alive. It's an oversight by Stardock, and nothing more.
Happens to me too. It really sucks when you're casting the spell to interrupt a heal or something that is going to deny your kill... and it doesn't work. Sometimes when I use Heart of Life (I think?) while moving, the Demigod will stop and use it. Other times, it will keep moving and won't use it. And sometimes, it keeps moving AND uses it, without me having to press the button more than once or issue a new move order.
When it says "Attempt to join game failed", it's usually because the game is full.
Frgoboy just prove that using P2P was an easier implementation and low cost, why still arguing on that "why it was designed that way"? For the ones that said FPS don't need to be "instant" and RTS needs different necessities...what do you really mean? When I shot someone that trying to hide behind a crate, this is VERY important to have real time but, you will NEVER have realtime in multiplayer game...well never say neve
It's the blinking button in the bottom right of your bar. Sadly, favor points don't work too well at the moment...
I agree. Past a certain point, the result of the match is set. Often, it can be very early. It's not really fun knowing that there's really no risk in attempting to kill somebody, because he and his teammates can't possibly hope to kill anyone in your team right now. They have too little health/armor/damage, you have too much. I'm not really sure there's a way to offset this, other than to provide an "OH SHIT" button on a long cooldown in your base which will give you a large benefit
While the OP doesn't understand how it works, a host/client system would work tons better because then only the host has to configure their stuff. This has worked well in the past, because someone intent on hosting will look up how to fix their problems, and the rest don't have to care. The latency is not a problem. It's no problem in DotA, why should it be one here? This is not a FPS, you don't need instant reactions. In fact, having a relatively large time to react is a key part of
kryo: Then, can you please file this thread under "things to look into once the chaos is cleared up"?
I like your ideas, I just find him at a dissadvantage when fighting more then one demigod. The ice stun is nice, and its a pbae.. which is great because they will come in close making it easier to catch them both, but iam worried about his surviability. Hes a one shot cannon having to rely on pots. which are great early-mid game. but can't match 1500 or the 2k heals rook and sedna has vs the 750 from pot. And if you really wanna roll the stun, rook has a stun, with a decent cd..
I'm sure that's just a bug. It makes no sense as the price doesn't show.
