Oh and I'm going to add this as a concrete suggestion: Volunteer community moderators (if you can't afford paid staff to police the boards). "What? How can that work? That's a dumb idea!!!" Some might say. However, I am active on a large political forum board that used to get extremely nasty around primaries and elections. The forum owners have no way to pay for staff so their solution was to tap fair-minded and judicious forum community members to volunteer for set pe

I'd like to maintain a civil, positive, and mature tone. However, as much as I like online gaming it seems to be dominated by a lot of internet bullies. This is especially rampant in Blizzard games and to be honest I think the Blizzard staff promote the attitude by using similar snarky remarks and "piling on" those that kind of don't hew to the party line. Honestly, I think the tone of this community will be the responsibility of the moderators of this board. If you allow bullying and
I think erebus's teleportation is fine but when it is used on land. However if it is used, for example, on crucible to teleport across gaps in the map it turns into an unfair advantage. This allow erebus to take the reinforcement flag in the back on the crucible base very early in the game. I think all gaps in the map should be become impassable unless you purchase a scroll. Tell me what you guys think.
<br
Just updated it. Playing with the new GPG build. So far so good. I'm still worried about the issue that some people had in build 108 where it froze on launching. We hadn't seen that internally so we're working to reproduce and see if build 113 fixes that. The connectivity build is still being worked on. Custom games are working pretty well but we have to update the way skirmish and pantheon games are connected (no

I don't think the Torch Bearer is overpowered but he does suffer from the game design standpoint of being able to do massive damage without actually having to engage in a fight. Facing toons like this are annoying because all they have to do is run away. A TB can wipe out a massive amount of minions and reinforcements in 2 clicks without subjecting himself to a lot of damage. I think this is what the OP finds hard to deal with. The only thing that balances this is that the TB is not t

Sounds good, I hope we see the updates today but I know these things take time. I hope the loading bug after a custom mp game gets launched is fixed. In 0.0108 beta there's just not a lot of games in custom to choose from.

Here's some food for thought... If you see certain heroes and strategies, and skill spamming over and over then you might want to take a closer look at why. In my experience, competitive gamers tend to gravitate what works the best while being the easiest to consistently execute. So, if after a while you mainly just see tower rooks to the exclusion of other builds, then you have to consider that might be an internally overpowered line. Or, conversely other internal rook builds

Maybe this should be in off-topic but I do find it kind of funny. I'm a big Blizzard fan but I have to admit the way they introduced and structured DK's in WoW was pretty out of whack. Even the Death Knight of WC3 had its overpoweredness. I guess the reason I thought it funny is because it seems like such a common refrain to add purely "Evil" playable characters and such as it is ever popular to play the archetype. The problem is that for some reason, the guy always seems over
Hey Frogboy, thanks for the update. Hope you can also fix the "stuck at map loading screen" bug that came with the latest beta (.108). Very infuriating Does it happen in single player too?
I only found it to happen in multiplayer w/ the latest 0.0108 beta. It seems to load fine in single player.

I have the most recent beta version, I was having a lot of problems connecting last night to the point where I couldn't get into one MP game. I was doing well before any of the betas were released. I'm kind of a sad panda...looking forward to the next round of changes to see if I can get back in the game. [e digicons]:S[/e]

I was just curious to see where Stardock was located (for some reason I thought it was East Coast) -- and it seems as if Stardock was founded in and headquartered in Michigan. That's my home state and where I live now! [e digicons]:D[/e] I'm so excited if this is true. Keep up the hard work. I'm glad to know there's some cool software companies here that are doing games. This doubles my support of the company. Sorry if this should be in off topic, I didn't quite know wher

Ok...I'm working with the beta and I'm a little concerned. At least half of my games are now getting multiple disconnects. Sometimes a few people disconnect at the same exact time, sometimes, it's everyone (or me?). This was NOT happening before the beta. Also, when I watch demigod in task manager I noticed it takes a lot of memory and it seems to increase as time goes on. Prior to a game it was 414,000K memory. During a game it was 809,000 memory and it seemed to be i

Great post and interesting news. I have concern about this statement, however: "Fifth, Stardock is working on an update to Impulse Reactor that will allow people to have more control over the types of people people are matched up with. Think of it being like eHarmony but for gaming. [e digicons]:)[/e] You'll be able to describe the type of gamer you are and the match making system will pick out people for you. I am playing the 0.0108 version now. People joining custom games seems a little better if they are there. However, it seems like there aren't a lot of people surfing to join custom 0.108 games. However, in 2 out of 3 of my multiplayer matches we had a huge number of disconnects half way thru the game. Yeah, Blizzard and BNET have set the bar really high. I hope you guys succeed. We need more diversity and competition in the field. Keep up the hard work, it will pay off

3rd online game, about 3/4th's of the way thru on a 2v2 cataract our two opponents were dc'd. Me and my partner stayed in the game and we had verbal confirmation neither of us were kicked. We got the "lag screen" and the host seemed to lag out when his thing said 30 secs. BTW I understand .0108 is the beta and so I guess I will continue to give as much feed back as I can. Forming games seems better now except for the fact there doesn't seem to be a lot of people making
