PUGging and Pubbing are basically interchangeable as they mean basically the same thing - playing with people you don't know.

Sorry, I didn't mean that as something that should be done. I think the idea of removing Favour items is terrible, and if your going to remove favour items to attempt to achieve more balance why not remove all the items while your at it, as it makes just as much sense - which isn't much. I agree with you completely - I like Favour items and I'd like to see them stay. Even in competitive matches.

Well, in all fairness, 'proven netcode' was once unproven. They made their choices which at the time seemed logical based on the requirements of the game, however with the wonder that is hindsight we're able to see that they mad the wrong choices. They're working as hard as they can to fix it. I too can't play Demigod at all. I'm not American, and so the Proxy servers do not work for me. I have to wait for 1.01 for the regional logic to kick in. I don't have a large amount of upload - listed
JAll competitive games have favour items turned off (all the tournaments etc.) which is where balance really counts.
I think a better solution would be to make all favour items available to everyone, regardless of their favour points, in 'competitive' matches as this opens up more viable gameplay strategies as opposed to shutting them out completely. If we're going to try to balance things out for competitive games in this manner, let's remove <

While I can understand the thinking behind this kind of organisational structure and some of the rules employed to ensure a consistantly good game experience, the problem comes with the policing of such policies and the fact that it's segments the community and creates sects of players who consider themselves the 'elite'. These types of 'Leagues' usually employ some kind of Blacklist to prevent people from breaking those rules; break the rules and you're banned from playing. This

If I remember rightly, TDA stands for Team DotA Allstars and was originally a DotA clan before it became a 'league' with it's own rules. So.. you want to have Team Dota Allstars Demigod games? I'm guessing you didn't put a great deal of thought into this post.

Ign.com have done an editorial on the state of games at release, and increasing trend of releasing games with game-breaking or major bugs and glitches. Demigod gets a big mention on the second page, however IGN actually give some praise to the way it's release issues were handled and mentioned the 50% of coupon as a fairly creative method for fixing the bad press. I thought it was an interesting read, as I've encounter

I've spent the last few days testing out the new patch and proxies, seeing what kind of difference it has made to my problem. Firstly, I no longer have any troubles connecting to people - the Proxy system kicks in on those people I wasn't able to connect to before, which is fantastic. However, since the Proxy servers are located in America and I'm an Australian, my Ping goes from the standard 80-120ms range for local connections to around 550-1250ms. I understand at current there is no l

Well, it depends on many factors, however it's quite possible it's the other person that you can't connect causing the problem and not yourself. From experience so far, it seems that some people's connections just really, really hate my connection for no real reason at all. Try forcing your computer to use the proxy servers - if your from America - if not, your in a simillar boat to me and just have to wait for them to add location logic to Proxy servers and update 1.01. The people who played dota or aos for a long time have a lot of knowledge about that kind of game. So listen to them and discuss suggestions, but dont flame like stupid kiddy fanboys!
Wrong. A DotA player has a lot of knowledge about DotA, while a Demigod player would have a lot of knowledge about Demigod. A player who plays both games has a lot of knowle

I like the idea of player feedback, much like we have here on the forum, however the system can be easily abused by those with enough time and dedication. For example, members of Clans would be give each other member Karma, artifically raising their Karma level. Ok, so you change it so that Clan Members can't give other Clan members Karma. So they quit the Clan, have their Karma bumped up, and re-join. It sounds far fetched, but I can promise this kind of abuse would happen. The momen

One of the worst ideas I've read yet. You lost. Stop blaming the make up of the other team, inaccurate favour points, the grease from your recently consumed dinner on your hands making your mouse control less than optimal, the rotations of the Earth effecting the gravitational pull of your geographical location making your mouse sensitivity slighty lower thus decreasing your reaction times, n00b team mates and realise the only common factor in all the games you've lost is

[sarcasim] The solution is simple: a small test level, where you fight the AI Demigod and then the system ranks you based on your performance. When you fight against other players online there is no 'game', the system simply does some math based on what Demigods you have on your team and the rankings of the players and when the game is 'launched' your issued with a 'Win' or 'Did not Win' screen. This removes the unfun aspect of actually playing the game, where you

Both Game Ranger and Hamachi are the first places people go when they've pirated a Multiplayer Centric Title; the Demigod area for both programs is filled with pirated copies. Hopefully you'll have more luck than me!

There is currently no logic installed to select the closest one to the players location so they default out to Proxies in the US of A, which is great for the majority of players - being North American - and completely useless for the rest of the community, myself included. This logic is still being tested to ensure it works and will be implemented at some point in the future.

[e digicons]8C[/e] Morrowind is one the greatest free form RPG's ever made. There was no hand holding, they didn't dumb it down, it was massive and it was an unashamedly hardcore RPG experience. What's not to love? Except the journal system, that was trash.

Fantastic - after the recent updates on Stardock's side I haven't been able to play because it appears I now make all games I join stutter, which hadn't happened before. Looks like 1.01 might fix that, and reduce some of the bandwidth requirements.

Hold on, your Ping is quite high to begin with? My ping is usually low, which is why it's strange that it takes forever and a day to connect to anyone. I believe you might have a seperate issue. Firstly, what's your connection speed? Are you running any programs in the background - any programs at all - at the time you run Demigod?

I'm not sure if the engine supports weather effects in the way you're talking - however, this is a fantastic idea and I think it would provide a very dynamic experience. Creative and well thought out as always. I hope at least one of your ideas makes it into the game!
