Hoverboy, to answer your questions, I've tried RC1 and RC2 of WinXP. I have found both builds to be a lot less stable than Win2k, had many compatibility problems with hardware (which I'm sure will be resolved soon after release) and far too many compatibility problems with software, including a complete inablility to run 3DS Max R4 license server, thus making it impossible to launch the app, infinite tweaking and screwing around with CounterStrike and Max Payne to get them to work, and even when

I agree with a lot of the stuff you said about XP, I don't like it either. I'd have to disagree about linux being the best OS ever though. It IS the best free server OS ever, and that's what I use it for, but in terms of software support, ease of configuration and plain old ease of use balanced with the general power and feel of the OS, I'd have to say that Win2K is the finest desktop OS out there. Quality of content definitely pays in the long run. And as we all well know, WinCustomize is definitely the name that spells kwality AJ

Grar, XP is horrible. It's not that I have anything against MS, there's good reason that they've conquered the desktop OS market, but I just don't like this OS. The whole experience to me felt like downgrading to WinME. The compatibility mode is nothing that wasn't on 2k from the start (check your CD, there's a file on there called apcompat.exe). I also found that the application compatibility mode simply didn't work for anything that I was unable to run on XP outside of compatibility mode. I ha

You'll need to download the Convergence program, only available on the OD network, once you have that, just load it up, hit browse, then select the theme you want applied.

BoXXi - That's 8 megabit per second download, which is only 1MB, still, show me a server that can send that and I'll be impressed. Actually even with several transfers happening, I've never seen any more than 700kb/sec, but it's certainly a lot nicer than the 56k I was stuck on when I lived in the UK.

Well, if anyone out there hasn't already atrophied from playing the game too much, my Gamespy Arcade ID is "AJCrowley", first name "Antony", last name "Crowley", I'm pretty sure I'm the only AJCrowley on there, and probably will be until Terry Gilliam releases the movie of Good Omens, at which point my good name (of 4 years now) will doubtlessly be sullied by hundreds of imposters and wannabes...Anyways, look me up, let's do some murder.

girls....drink....feck.... Erm...I have ADSL, which is rather nice compared to the 'orrible ADSL I had in Vancouver. In Van, I had a 0.5Mb upstream, and 1.5Mb down, apparently, even though I never saw close to either of those numbers. Here I have 8Mb down and 2 up, which is refreshing. And yes, I have noticed the speed difference since the upgrades, I'm not sure precisely when they happened, but I've definitely seen a big improvement at some point within the last couple of weeks. I had no idea that's what it meant when I log in and it says, "Welcome, apprentice AJCrowley". I've been and apprentice since the first time I checked though, so what comes before apprentice? Is journeyman directly after? What perks/bypasses come with being an apprentice? k thx bye

Frogboy - Max Payne is absolutely brilliant. I heard it was good, so I downloaded a copy to see what it's like, and went out and bought an original the next day. I'm not big on games, so I'm pretty picky in what I keep. This is the darkest, most disturbing game I've ever played, and while not as graphic as SoF, the characters are very lifelike, and there's something very disturbingly satisfying about the cold dead look in someone's eyes after you've just beaten them to death with a baseball bat.

Jafo - I was running CS on top of Litestep, and didn't experience any problems whatsoever. FlipNET - Come on, don't be scared, just one little fix is all you need. Can you imagine anything more fun than unloading a lovely clip of mp5 ammo into a hapless Frogboy?

that and Max Payne are the only games I play, I would love to deal you guys out some whoopins some time, or in the language of CS, "ph34r m3 l337 sk1llz!!!! I w1ll ownx0r j00!!!!". Erm....something like that anyway, do you use Gamespy Arcade? AJ.

Hello there. I was just wondering if anyone here plays the popular computer game, "Counter Strike". If so, I think that it should be very much fun to get a WC game together that I may violently slaughter all those that have given any of my work a low rating. If anyone's interested, post here, and if we get enough of a response we can work out the details (such as which server) later. Cheers, AJ

It's odd, you'd think that people who claimed to have such great photoshop skills wouldn't on the whole have such ugly websites. I personally really like the design of phong - http://www.phong.com . It's something original and very neatly done, that doesn't look like it was thrown together in dreamweaver(spit) or frontpage(spit). Cheers, AJ
