Yes I know what the answer is, and I have read the official response. I am 100% behind the decision to keep TC OUT OF GAL CIV III. Furthermore I really wish the entire 'Well I see TC is once again out' threads leave but alas they wont. Anyway thanks for posting. I wrote this thinking there would be a way to make a simple poll.

I for one do not want Tactical combat in the game. With that said, is there a way to create a poll on our website where registered users can vote (once) and we can see what the results are? I suspect that we have a really vocal minority for it, but I have been wrong many times before. So this thread is a request for a poll where we can get some preliminary numbers on who actually wants it. </p

Let me say only thank goodness (it is) like Gal Civ II. Most of your points have been discussed in previous posts. Many features have not even been enabled yet so we cannot really say this or that is how it should be. The game is founded on the rock/paper/scissors idea of combat. The system works well and is easy to understand for newcomers without overwhelming them. My overall response is to say wait and lets see what the Betas bring. &nb

Ath, many of the issues you are mentioning are going to be resolved in Beta. Many of the descriptions and icons were 'placeholders' and did not do what they were supposed to. All of which the devs were aware of and will be resolved with the release of Beta this week.

I actually do like the mobility. I will often look at my empire and optimize where I should put a Starport so I can send production to it. What is the decrease in production against distance from Sponsoring planet? The red number does not indicate if the planet is actually contributing. In any event I play some games where I can have 5 or even 7 planets sponsor 1 starport. This in turn has that port cranking out ships nearly every turn. +2 c

I fired up Civ V this weekend and really enjoy it. I am going to delete the entire folder and reinstall as the Sound for Techs is not on and it really annoys me. Anyway while I was playing I had my friends and roommates came over and mentioned how nice the music is on 'that game'. Civ IV and V always had great music and I was really curious to know what music (if any) you might have planned.

Schaef, I think we will have a 'disabled' AI till October. Brad is the AI genius who writes the code. I do believe they want most of the features resolved and in game before he sits down and writes the code for each AI faction. I think he did a great job for GCII and it has been hailed as a really great AI (as compared to every other 4x game at the time). I am really looking to see how Brad makes each faction come alive in its

I also like Culture victories. One thing that would be different is once you place a culture ring on your star base you need to anchor it do the nearest planet in your spere of influence. This planet contributes its 'influence production' to the starbase. This is just an idea and I was thinking on how to help tie the planets (which are the source of the culture) to the starbases (which are the distributors of culture (propaganda, toys, art, Torianburgers). </

Fleet Battles The marketing team is struggling in how to describe the fleet combat in GalCiv III. My suggestion has been to describe it in terms of Hearthstone. Your fleet is your desk and your ships are your minions that you crafted. However, where the analogy fails is that the actual "tactics" of fleet battles are handled AI vs. AI. So your skill is about how you design ships and assemble fleets. Looking closely at what your enemies are desig

Snarky Civ IV quotes regarding the effectiveness of Plasma riffles over Sonic blasters..read by Morgan, Michio Kaku or Neil deGrasse Tyson ...... "While Sonic Blasters sound nice, Plasma is the hotter topic today".....

Agree with Schaefspeare. This would lead into a mini tacical game. This is something that you all can mod LATER after we launch but really it would only make more micro management of the game which is already has enough of. Really a planetary invasion viewer would be fine with me.

YES! I have been playing LH lately and having a good time. Alpha is Alpha. There does seem to be a memory issue late game after 200+ turns where the game crashes. I have 8 gigs of ram and a Terrabyte HDD for paging and I still crash on large maps after 300+ turns. Still I am really enjoying the Alpha and I still say the value is well worth the money spent.
