Building a system where we just host the games. Demigod would think it’s “peer to peer” but we would actually make it client server with Stardock hosting all the games ala Elemental.
I missed this in Frogboy's reply. This would definitely be a welcomed development, I think

Is it mass content, or word of mouth or mods? That is the secret to sucess IMO. I think a game developer needs to make choices one of them is " do we just make a game and hope to get a good ROI and move on, or go for longgevity and reap rewards for years to come.
It appears that I can only play online with other Singapore players (hence the one custom game that I could actually get into for ... the longest time). This was before patch 1.01 - and I haven't tried Demigod with the patch yet. Let's see how it goes. But objectively speaking, I do tend to think that Demigod's popularity, at least as far as Singapore is concerned, is going to be extremely limited, unless there are some drastic changes to address the connection issues (wh
Thanks for the custom game, Kon. At least Singapore players can (sort of) connect to each other. P/S I was amazed at what the UB could do - he was unkillable at level 20!
For what it's worth, I've been having the same problem - I appear to be able to connect to others, but others cannot connect to me, when I'm attempting to connect to any online aspect of Demigod (including Custom games)
Some people are facing major problems getting multiplayer games to work reliably. Read some of the Developer Journals to follow the detective work they've been going through to try and find the problems. They claim to have made progress since the launch, and some reports support this claim, while others (like me) have seen things get progressively worse. If you are one of the players for whom things are working, and are able to connect regularly and reliably to others who are working,
Apart from the price, I tend to think that "word of mouth" might have something to do with Demigod's reception in Singapore. Connection issues for the game isn't exactly helping it. Added : And I do find it ironic that individuals who used pirated copies of Demigod and play on Game Ranger are having a better experience than I am (when I can't connect online).
[
i think the reason could be because of stacking HP items on demigods, it gets to the point where spell levels do not scale well against higher level demigods with 7k HP or more, then again that is only my opinion.
Although I've played mainly single player games (thanks to the inability to connect online), I think this observation is accuate, especially for single player games on hard mode that lasts for more than 15 mins.
Incidentally, I tried calling up Singnet (one of the main ISP providers in Singapore) about trying to get Demigod to work online. I explained to them that Demigod was a peer-to-peer online game, I had opened up ports and set a static IP for my computer, but I was still unable to connect. This was the response I was given - "We can't really help with that. Maybe you can contact the company which produces the game or ask some friends who know about networking."

This is really nice. Love the death sequence.
I think your videos are getting better. The fire change / fire nova one is excellent !
I like it. :) Thanks for making and posting this. Perhaps dying animations are just as nice ? :P

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that patch 1.01 will allow me to connect and play online.
Yes, I read the helpful journal entry - http://forums.demigodthegame.com/353787 Anyway, I've completed single player tournament (normal mode) with every single Demigod. Erebus ends up (no surprises here) as an eater of worlds etc. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that patch 1.01 will allow me to connect online to Demigod games.
On totems of revelation, according to this site - http://www.gamereplays.org/demigod/portals.php?show=page&name=Demigod-Guide-Regulus-Mine-Tip - they last 5 minutes. That's quite a good investment for 50g. :P

I'm not sure it's such a bad idea, black :P An equal third team - as in instead of team 1 v team 2 (as Demigod currently is), it's team 1 v team 2 v team 3 - does sound interesting to me.
Thank you, transitive. :)
(1) I think both enemy and allied creeps can be converted into nightwalkers. (2) Yes, it works only when Erebus is in the vicinity. Think of Erebus as a moving spirit ward. Creeps killed by nightwalkers when Erebus isn't around does not get converted.
Thanks, Sy. :) It appears that Oak has a relatively easier time getting minions, since he can put up multiple wards in multiple locations, whereas Erebus is limited to getting minions only in his vincinity.
Some basic questions have been nagging at me. Assistance would be appreciated :) (1) How long does a totem of revelation last, after it has been put down ? (2) Rook - How long does a tower (using power of the tower skill) last, assuming no one attacks it ? (3) Oak - How long does a raise dead ward last ? Is there anyway to target a raise dead ward ? (4) How does Erebus' conversion ability work (to create nighwalker minions) ? (a) Do
Another question - how does Erebus' conversion ability work (to create nighwalker minions) ? (1) Does the conversion ability only work on enemy creeps which are killed (or can nightwalker be created from friendly creeps killed by the enemies also) ? (2) Does the conversion ability work only when Erebus is in the vincinity ? For example, if Erebus already has some nightwalker minions. Erebus sends the minions to lane 2, while Erebus stays in lane 1. If the minions kill creeps i
Well, not really ... :P The AI's kinda predictable (and lacking). But there isn't much more to do (as I can't connect online), and the single player mode does give me a basic understanding of the Demigod's abilities.
These are really nice. :) Thanks for making and posting the clips.
