I'd like to see a super-dragon type unit, like Elder Dragon. That way your stack of doom would have something to aspire to (even regular dragons become easy at late game). And the eldest of dragons would have knowledge older than the titans...perhaps special skill books that raise an island in the ocean, or something crazy and different.

At this point, truly original fantasy is pretty hard to come by. Knocking the lore for having undead seems myopic. Why not knock them for having earth, fire, water, air as elements? Or Mage/warrior/assassin/defender archetypes? Why not point out that the Men Vs. Fallen thing is a more complicated version of Orcs. Vs Men? It's not that Elemental is a totally original fantasy world, but it at least deserves credit for having unique flavor. The whole titan backstory is not a st
Until better road building options show up: 1.) Play mancers 2.) Train a hero to get road building Maybe stardock should bring road building much lower on the commander tree...
I've only ever fought them, and I bet they have huge potential. The unit is basically free...seems harsh to so quickly dismiss them as useless, especially early game.
EVEN BETTER: Let the player custom design their own trees. Might be a lot of work to program, but customization is the best part of this game. Why not let the player decide how the branches form/how much advanced skills 'cost' in progression before they get them? As it is now, skills like spell resistance that were available to all heroes in FE now require specialization to get. Custom trees allow the 'hybrid' classes like FE did. Breaking RPG con
I still don't understand why you can't pay in materials to put equipment on heroes. You pay in materials to put it on troops, why do heroes have to buy each piece at a steep gildar price when you have plenty of metal/crystal? Seems to me buying the stuff in gold makes sense if you don't have the needed resources (you' paying the craftsmen to go get metal for you). If I am swimming in crystal, my armorers could make champion gear for me. heroes would be mor
Would ruin diplomatic victory if required, as well as make diplomacy almost useless in general. But I agree it could be a fun option.
Sanati- Ever fought one of your custom factions, with your high-init designed archers, used against you? The AI isn't truly capable of utilizing them, but it can make archers a threat, in my experience.
Phaedyme- If you have dropbox, you can generate URLs to specific files rather easily. I can explain if needed.
The sad truth is, We are One makes his post and the replies fly in. Don't fuel the fire folks. It's like seeing an accident, best thing you can do is not look and keep driving.
It might be OP, but since you can never be sure you'll get it, does it matter that much?
If you're afraid of malware, you shouldn't be on forums, either. You need to never go on the internet to be sure. Even if you encrypt everything, hackers can steal your account or login to anything and get any data you've put on the internet ever. Mr I-don't-play-mods is just too important to be bothered with customizing his game.
I have seen Vetrar leave his wildland, back in FE 1.3. Deleted the save, alas...
Training archers with the Bloodthirsty trait really helps to offset the low damage against high defense units. Add on Heart Of Fire bonuses, and fire/ice rings if you have the crystal, and they have armor ignoring damage bonuses. If you have the archers faction trait and reach the final tier bow, it has 50% armor piercing. Basically game over, but you've probably won at that point anyway.
i think swords got nerfed too hard, otherwise weapons are very balanced.
Sanati- how do you get a 30 init archer without spells? short bow makes a unit 12 initiative. add quick, warg, amulet of haste and belt of speed, and init is 19. are you assuming any faction traitsk?
Supply dand demand. fewer, better heroes makes each hero more valuable. More, weaker heroes means heroes are less valuable.
just make the buildings produce .25 horsesl/wargs per turn and the problem is solved.
Thanks parrotmath. I will play around.
Parrot Math- How do you make random events? Are they mod-able via XML files? Is there a post you could link me to?
What if you picked from the tree on even levels, but got the old random perk selection on odd levels. The thing I miss most about the random leveling system is that you'd end up with skills you normally wouldn't pick, and find out they were great. If, say, your sovereign starts with tactician, he'll never get to tactician II unless you choose Commander. Under the old system, though, you could eventually become Tactician II even if you were a mage.
I wish you could get dragon mounts like Waerloga has.
I play as Mancers all the time, never have road problems. That said, if the devs could unlock this traits for all bloodlines, maybe just have it cost something for non-Mancers, that might make some people happy.
4. I'd love an option that has mobs and quests constantly respawn within cleared territory...This would give a mid to late game option to continue to fight mobs and do quests as well as attacking the other players.
+1 baby. I think QUESTS above all should spawn on their own, so there is always a new way to get XP. if your heroes always stand a chance at getting better, there's less chance of 'knowing' you'
If it helps, here is a save game where Verga surrendered to me, and he has 2 paths (mage and governor i believe) https://www.dropbox.com/s/voq8qobh9o2dmiw/For%20Stardock.EleSav
