Anyone saw it? I did yesterday..at last. It was more or less as expected - like all the recent movies of this kind. Cant really say better or worse than say Superman vs Batman...just i guess bit of more of my cup of tea cause of all the spaceships and shit. Then again, the whole alien "harvesters of the worlds" theme already alluded in the first movie reminds me of Vasari so much - almost makes me want to play the game again (did not play it at all past few months, did not even buy th
That's a pretty bizarre list (despite me loving several of the games on it).
Lets just be honest, thats pretty terrible list. Half of the game is like from past 3 years, Warhammer, as pointed out, is not even out yet... and so on. Obviously this is pretty subjective, so whatever...

Not my kind of game, but the trailer is very nicely done. Stunning visually and i guess you cant never go wrong with the "Sunshine" music.
There are rumors going around that custom non-ref version of 1080 from AIBs could clock up to 2,4GHz... if true, the cards could actually be quite awesome. I was bit disappointed by the low CUDA core count, but if they can clock that high, the performance could get perhaps 40 percent above OCed 980Ti, which is quite acceptable. All in all, i am fairly glad i skipped 980Ti last year, should be getting better GPU now for more or less the same money, and not better just by some miniscule differe
Quoting , quoting post Will the New Nvidia GTX 1070 and 1080 work well with this game? How about the Direct X 12 capability? There is no use in speculating how good these cards may be, the PR people ALWAYS tell you new stuff is better, so BUY IT! <
Since my now kinda oldish GTX590 broke last year, i am using borrowed GTX580 as a replacement...thus i will very likely buy this new 1080. Although my primary concern is not its gaming performance, but GPGPU capability. At advertised 9TFlops of FP32 performance compared to 6TFlops in case of GTX980Ti, it looks rather good, although its bit shit to pay 700-800 EUROS for 300mm2 chip knowing in maybe less than year there will be bigger and more powerful replacement, perhaps another 50 percent fa
Art is expensive , both in terms of development and performance. May get better over time as the development budget increases and hardware gets better. My perspective differs from yours in that I'm more interested in a deep and replayable gameplay experience, not so much art. The former holds my interest for many hours, the latter for only a few. It's funny I read one post that said "This game is terrible wit
Good choice, getting Rebellion. I am sure you wont regret it. BTW the Loyalist factions are not quite the "standard" races from original Sins. They are as much different from the vanilla factions as the Rebel subfactions. Neither is vastly different though, its more like refinement or addition, rather than complete overhaul, so you should not worry about getting overwhelmed by the new stuff, regardless of playing as Loyalists or Rebels. Not sure which of the factions in origin
Thanks very much for your excellent advice Darvin3. I abandoned that particular quest when I took a closer look at what was arrayed against me, My next foray will be more along the lines of your strategy. Sorry to tell you, but i doubt it. While the cards dont have to be the same AFAIK, as with regular SLI/Crossfire, there needs to be some performance parity. IIRC 280x is akin to 7970, that makes 270x 7870? And you paired it with 7570, which is pretty much low-end, so no wonder it made the game run worse. I am not totally sure how it works with Ashes, but with regular multi-GPU set-ups, the second GPU renders the odd frames. Now imagine your 270x can do it at 30FPS, but 7570 only at 10
Congrats! Looking forward to those DLCs, third race and naval combat. Now feel free to announce Rebellion 2 on the Nitrous engine [e digicons]:D[/e]
I cant say for sure, but IMO there are some differences. Once again the bombers on Nvidia HW lack the glow on the engine trail and i find it highly unlikely that would be down to different monitor brightness or something along the line. If so, i would expect the effect to be just less pronounced, but to me its like that particular effect its just not there at all on Nvidia. Not that it matters that much to me, i would still buy Nvidia card over AMD cause of CUDA. Just saying how i see
It certainly looks like there are some glow effects missing on the right side. Especially visible on bombers close-up picture, no engine glow on Nvidia HW for whatever reason.

Wow, this is awesome. I mean, these things are super-interesting. Since i feel like all my memories are more or less visual in nature, i find it incredibly difficult to even imagine how can it be possible to have any memory at all without it for someone. I suppose there is direct connection between this and why i was always shit at math/algebra. If i cant visualize it in my mind, i am screwed.
I don't understand this at all. I really don't. I realize that everyone wants the game that they want, and it's frustrating at times when that doesn't happen. But really? The factions don't feel different enough to you in a Beta? You don't like the UI in a Beta? I personally am not a fan of buying Early Access games, and a lot for that reason. You may see something that is not complete yet, and have
As far as i am concerned, Sins:Rebellion remains superior game to Ashes Perhaps. But Sins Rebellion is Sins of a Solar Empire with 5 years of non-stop post-release development, DLC, expansions. We (Stardock/Ironclad) made Sins on $800k, that's less than 1/20th the budget SupCom 1.0 had (let alone FA). At this stage in Sins development,
Tough crowd. I liked FA. While I loved the complexity, it was too complex and click-intensive for my buddies to get into, so we didn't play it much. I also like Ashes. I think my buddies would enjoy it more because it's easier to understand the game state, accomplish your goals, and establish objectives. Seeing as how the lifecycle of this game is supposed to be at least 3 to 5 years, my guess is most of you all will be able to come ba
Thanks for the feedback. I can't say I agree with your views. The Substrate and the PHC look pretty visually different and work on fairly different mechanics. I always found the SupCom factions to be essentially the same with just some art differences but that's just me. As for turning Ashes into SupCom:FA, that decision was made long ago. While I like SupCom, we are
Totally agree with Cerzi, especially about extractors, there needs to be different/bigger/visually more prominent 3D model. I have hard time distinguishing between empty and populated resource node too.
