I play Vasari almost exclusively, but even so, I prefer it to be elsewhere. What would be more awesome IMO would be if the Vasari titan could channel an ability that would lock down the gravity well's normal phase lanes while also opening up a phase node to it.
Nobody says it would be more rea
Personally, I was half happy and disappointed in that Stripped to the Core was not the VLT's level six ability. I am sad because it would have been epic seeing a planet eaten, but I am also happy because it means that I get Stripped to the Core and a level six ability. Personally, I think that it would hurt the VLT (at this point anyways) by having Stripped to the Core as its level six ability. (Also, eating a planet th
Nice to see, that you people agree with me. Thanks for the support. If only somebody from the devs took notice of this thread. I seriously think about asking Yarlen or even better Blair Fraser (as he stated himself that Vasari Loyalists are his personal favourites in that gamespot interview) to take a look at this thread via PM. Stupid idea? [e digicons]:)[/e]
Do you have overclocked either your CPU or GPU? I suffered from random crashes as well and dropping the GPU overclock seemed to fix the situation.
I also agree with this. I strongly believe that the ability to destroy any planet should be the Vasari Loyalists ultimate titan ability. There are many ways it could be balanced - for one, being the ultimate, so this Titan has to be leveled and gained much experience to achieve the ability, and the player has already invested very heavily to build this Titan in the first place. Also, it co
Not sure about nuances, but in general, i agree with you. Advent factions do not seem to be as developed as TEC, nor Vasari and some of their new stuff are questionable from the perspective of the lore background. Especially i do not get Rebels and their character: they are supposed to want to purify Unity, i suppose they think Loyalist became evil in their limitless hate against TEC. So this would kinda suggest Loyalist are the bad guys and Rebels the good ones, trying to fix t
This is the thread dedicated to Vasari, more precisely to their planet-stripping ability, so anyone, who does not know, what is going on and does not want to be spoiled, before Vasari become playable, please do not read any further. I hope this wont get deleted by mods, as there is going to be said nothing, what was not already said before by other people in other threads. I wanted to wait up until Vasari become playable, but playing for them on both beta 0.62 and 0.7
Bringing this thread back again from the depths of the page 3... today, as i tried Vasari, shortly after the beginning of the game, my first cap - Skirantra Carrier lvl4 + cca 5 Assailants - ran into 2 Advent Halcyons - lvl 2 and 3 - and i WON! Now i did not mind that, as Vasari are my race of choice, but perhaps its true, that Advent are somewhat weak...
I dont see why it could not be true. TEC at the start of the march, Advent at the start of the April, Vasari perhaps at the start of the May (would not mind sooner)... then still almost month and half to fix the most glaring bugs and incorporate some feedback regarding balance. I played Vasari Loyalists today again and they were improved indeed compared to 0.62 version, as a matter of fact, only 2 things, which i found out to be not working, were Mobile Rulership and Charybdis Dark Fl
just went on to continue my game from yesterday, which finished abruptly with a desktop crash, as i attacked heavily defended TEC Rebel planet. So i loaded a save today (created shortly before the jump to the enemy world), jumped in again, met the enemy fleet consisting of up to 10 capships, Ragnarov and shitload of strike craft, zoomed in and out, game would crash again. So rinse and repeat, loaded the game, loaded the save, jumped in, the battle started, crash to desktop... Was plan

Just click and unclick the "Use Colored Skyboxes" in the Effects menu until you find the one you want. That works during game? Thx a bunch, I dislike the dark skyboxes because I can barely see the ships against those. Especially Vasari. In SoaSE I just started new game so many times that I

As the title says, i want to report graphical glitch with the Coronata Titan, more precisely, the glowing ring texture on top of it gets wrong occasionaly. Seems like an issue with alpha texture, because instead of the blueish ring there is white glowing square.
1 Advent still have the old blue charge for a phase jump. It might be on purpose and if it is disregard. It's actually slightly different, it now looks like an eye opening which fits in with some of the Advent phrases: "Arrival location visualized" etc. The Advent still use the old "comet" effect while travelling in phase space, which I quite like. My guess is that each race now has their own phase jump
So it happens instantly? Perhaps it should take 2-3 minutes for the whole process to be accomplished, to give the defending faction at least a chance to prevent it.
All it takes, to look somewhat good, is the multiple-stage change of the planet surface texture, to greyish, brownish version with clearly visible burning areas. Then, once the bombardment stops and planet is recolonised, the texture will again return in several stages to its original version. This cant be difficult to implement, the only difficult part or challenge if you wish, is to make the continuous change of the texture to look really "continuous", not abrupt and in turn c
Why was the gravity well frontier texture replaced with a simple line (circle?) If i did not read this as a part of those release notes, i would think, its only temporal downgrade, or bug. It looked better as a texture, so why changing it?
As a matter of fact, i had this several times. And i did not even mess with the game files, playing for unlocked races, or anything. I had run-time error while playing for TEC before, and yesterday, as the 0.76 version downloaded, i tried my Advent Loyalist save from last weekend, and after perhaps 20-30 minutes of play, the game crashed to desktop. It happen very fast this time, but i reckon i saw there the RunTime Error table to flash there for a moment (before it would stay there and i cou

Care to elaborate what exactly was changed/finished? Quite a bit. I would appreciate subtitles too, as a non-native speaker. I could understand more or less everything on that video, but the last sentence about the Vasari Rebels kept eluding me, until someone transcribed it on some thread related to that video.
Personally, i think, that TEC Loyalists and Rebels are fairly different, Loyalists being ultra-defensive and Rebels getting their TAR/Pirate/free reinforcements stuff. Especially TAR makes game for Rebels much different to Loyalists. Then, it seems, from the description, much thought was put into Vasari Loyalists, they seem fairly unique and interesting - to my pleasure. I would guess and put money on it, that these subfactions were first to be "invented". Then the others followed. Especially
I understand what you mean. Technically, we do know, the answer is inherent in the meaning of the word loyalist. A loyalist is: A loyalist is someone who maintains loyalty to an established government, political party, or sovereign, especially during war or revolutionary change. The lore supports the loyalist factions with a more "traditional choice for that
@ timmaigh The point of the idea is giving eco players another option to have early enough to matter(eco spots get repetative)...as it is TEC rebel eco spots will just be insanely overpowered, there will be very little reason to play a skilled game if they have a TEC rebel eco player who knows what they are doing. This will happen a lot and will be very frustrating. The changes i've proposed are VERY simple for the
@Sareth01> I have not read entire thread completely, but if i understood you correctly, you wish to give TAR to all the Rebel factions as some unifying, encompassing aspect, because it fits the Rebel theme overall. Here i would like to point out, although all the Rebel factions are called Rebels so far, their goals are different and because of that, i think, more sensible solution would be just to rename Advent and Vasari Rebels to something else (as i proposed before), something mor
