I just don't understand the bonus rank of this ability. At first I thought it would throw nearby enemies into the air so that they wouldn't be viable targets for the damage portion and you could focus on hitting DGs, cataputs, or whatever other more important stuff is in your way. However, that doesn't seem to be how it works, so you have the option to spend a point to throw units who die in one hit to it anyway into the air? What am I missing here? Did I just not see what's going on

The Plate Visor, Theurgist's Cap, and Vinling Helm are the unpopular ones, and at the very least the Plate Visor would be easy to fix. Just bump it up to 40% or so regen and give it 400-700 mana. It then becomes very useful

If only we had a graph of this last weekend, that's when it was really bad. Relatively speaking, today's actually been quite decent. Btw. have you considered trackign queues independently? [e digicons]:D[/e]
uuuuh, I suggested it should be rebuild for rather obvious reasons, it's hard to make helmets differenrt from each other.
There's always procs and auras. They could even add on attack speed or damage if you look at the Cloak of Night's stat combo. I realize it's a trinket, but I just mean that it shows that damage and mana don't have to be mutually exclusive.
I agree with you obscnetor on that one, although I'd add that pretty much all dmg items are so pityfull being the most effecient isnt much. buff dmg items all together.
I honestly think you'd be pleasantly surprised by Nature's Reckoning if you haven't used it much before. On a DG like Sedna, DA, or Oak I think its utility is pretty incredible. Oak's probably my favorite, Divine Justice works in if you get a kill on the proc, and it also brings reinforcements low enough for ran
Natures Reckoning: Decrease price to 1400. Just so more people try using it
I disagree on this, it really is one of the most effective DPS items out there right now. The main thing is that the 250 damage isn't mitigated by armor and it's at a pretty massive 15% proc rate, so if you assume people are at 40% armor mitigation, autoattack damage has gotta climb up to 500 berfore the proc alone is outdone by Slayer's Wraps. Considering it has a 50% higher proc rate, I *think* you cou
So you aknowledge I don't intent to balance items in vacuum?
No, becasue you talk about specific item changes without stating a goal behind them. They seem to be for their own sake, hence the vacuum statement. For example, what's the point in rebuilding mana regen? Here's a direct quote to illustrate my point:
NERF VLEMISH, it should be an ally support skill not a helm everyone gets. Make mana pool items and mana regen items, but don

You can't balance items in a vacuum. If you nerf Vlemish you nerf mana regen, which means you buff HP because people have less mana with which to deal damage. When you nerf HP you reduce fight time, which buffs some DGs and nerfs others. When you buff DPS items you reduce total player health without even needing to nerf HP because each DPS item a character has takes the place of an HP item.

Lemme point out one other issue with L4D while we're (I'm) talking about it. Lots of servers ran annoying mods that altered the game mechanics and map setups, it was only by sheer volume of servers that you were able to pretty much ignore those crummy ones. If players hosted games on private servers for a game of this size I do worry that you wouldn't have an acceptable place to just play normal games with standard, established rules. That may sound kind of irrelevant to you if you pe
There are new games coming out. I loved Left 4 Dead (1), but it had nowhere near the long appeal that Demigod has.
Well the long-term appeal of Left 4 Dead was versus. If you did enjoy versus mode, you should definitely check out L4D2, the improvements are massive. I could write out a laundry list of L4D1 issues that were fixed in the sequel.

If you were going to guess which side would have the longest queue, the best bet would be going with whichever one has fewer DGs, but lo and behold: Ancitipating which side is going to have a shorter queue time is NOT a functional solution, it's a damn coin flip. How many OTHER PEOPLE are sick of waiting? How many of them are going to go light to avoid the wait times? The correct s

One other thing is that back to the intitial idea of people subbing in for players who drop, Left 4 Dead's is pretty much a working model of your proposed setup. That configuration does work really well for that game because L4D's gameplay makes everyone pretty faceless, and also because everyone's health and progress are reset quite frequently. When you leave a character in Left 4 Dead there's very little impression of you attached to it. You can pick your gun, you can be low on heal

I don't really have the knowledge to strongly agree or disagree with anyone on how feasible this kind of project would be. What I do know is that GPG is content to have a game with their name on it be unable to provide the basic matchmaking and connectivity functionality which Warcraft 3 provided back in 2002.
however all this changes is the stability of the connections (assuming the 'host' has the extreme level of bandwidth needed)
Lemme also point out that this is pure

This would make sense for an expansion or sequel, but it's just not realistic to expect them to rebuild the game at this point in its life cycle. GPG had a really good window to do things right and they just missed it. WoW was completely stagnant (and still is really) and there were no new solid multiplayer PC games out. Now L4D2 is out and other games are closer to release date, not to mention things like Dragon Age and Torchlight as well as some other solid single player titles came out.</p

This is why I've never been in favor of a Deep Freeze damage buff. It's one of the most powerful abilities in the game if used correctly. That being said, Sedna is the only one with a way out, if she heals herself (rank 3 and up of course) it just removes the debuff without consequence, unlike using an Orb of Defiance or Oak's shield to remove it, both of which will cause you to suffer the cooldown inflation.

As for Regulus, you know what I would do? I would make Mark of the Betrayer interrupt when cast initially (in addition to its other effects) and just have Dead Eye make Snipe always do damage as though it were fired at max range.
