They might have been designed to be very simple on purpose. Lets be honest: its a pain in the ass to control minions except as one huge blob of units. I think that the weakness of the minion control in the game would have people very upset if using minions actually required micromanagement to be effective.
A minion based build should require more micro than a non-minion build because it doesn't manage cooldowns or activat
I rarely see QoTs and these almost exclusively use Ground Spikes and only Shield themselves which does not count as support. This is my observation on EU servers, perhaps it's different on USA servers?
It's not a server based game. I've played with plenty of europeans. There is no reason whatsoever that a QoT would refuse to shield her partners if it's going to help win the game. What's the difference between shielding yourself and someone else? Just shield whoever
the general cant do anything themselves if they soley spec minions though but he quit seriously? lol...
Exactly, it's mindless. There's no skill behind it, it's not as though the ranged siege gunners and monks are fragile whatsoever, and the minotaurs don't fill any tanking role, it's just a big blob of units with no further complexity than right clicking involved. You might think that getting in there to at least bite would make a difference, but of course minion damage
Honestly I'm just sick of the minion swarms period. I fight more and more LEs who seriously sit out of combat 90% of the time, they rely completely on the minions to do all the fighting for them. It'd be fine if minions actually required some kind of skill, but 1800+ health siege gunners, 2400 health minotaurs, 1300 health night walkers really don't require much skill. Just right click heroes and hope you win. The other day in a skirmish match I was fighting a guy who did just t
Maybe I'm even wrong and Shield is not intended to be a support skill, because it certainly isn't usually used as such now .
Not sure where you're getting this from, I see it used quite a bit in the games where people actually play QoT.
A few weeks or maybe a month or two ago now proxied connections were sporadically giving extremly high pings which slowed down games if you didn't rejoin and get a different proxy. Then, without any fanfare, they just started working again after a week or so. The same thing is happening again for me and a handful of people I've talked to in game. So basically the idea is I'll enter a game, have several proxied connectins, and the majority will be at a reasonable, sub 300 ping.
If sedna's priests weren't healing for 1800 a pop you'd see QoT get more usage. Also if minion damage were affected by armor you'd see her grinding up LE minion builds with her shamblers, but currently as a whole QoT just lacks much synergy in her builds and runs OOM too quickly.
They do anyway, since the gold advantage currently means they'll have a thousand or so more HP and more armor/mana because of nimoths/unbreakable boots. Activatables aren't going to change the slippery slope of the game.
I don't see how you can say that introducing new offensive items wouldn't change the pacing of the game.
Yes you can blow through 7k HP with 3 players all focusing on a single target, but is that really what you want? Running around the map in a big gank s
Do all that with activated items and you don't stop HP stacking at all, you just provide alternate means to increase damage, aka winners pull ahead that much harder. Currently once a player loads up on gear the only real use for gold is citadel upgrades and artifacts. Add in an item that lets a UB snare or silence a player and you'll just see UBs who get a few early kills dominating for the rest of the game. Some characters will thrive, especially melee ones if you want to see thi

Lemme point out that some of my questsions were answered already on the july 24th update, so kudos to frogboy and the DG team.
Great post, don't know how I missed it. As for players having a harder time finding matches because of high win rates, that's just the way it is. Those players should be playing with a smaller percentage of the population. Even if the matchmaking had an automated, invisible hand it would still take longer to pair the higher ranked players. The problem with not implementing it is that currently anyone who knows about stats can look up players already which means it's only beginners who
being able to focus fire and snare/weaken/stun/silence/mana drain a single target is exactly the kind of move that will counter health stacking
Coordinated teams are exactly what is able to blow through health stacking already. I think this would just turn 3s and up into a gib fest. I don't see how being on the receiving end of this would ever be remotely enjoyable.

Lemme point out on exception on the standard item shop inventory - the Orb of Defiance is, imo, the coolest and most interesting item in the game.
Pantheon is a joke these days. I'm 19-2(and that's because the same teammate quit on me twice). Forces of Light are getting crushed; they always seem to get AI teammates. I've seen entire teams of AI in a row.
Everyone gets AI teammates at times, it's not specific to forces of light. I've been in plenty of games where it was three light humans against three dark AIs. Considering there's more light than dark players I would assume light actually gets less AI players than dark.</p
I like the idea of it but while it'd be interesting to shoot the breeze with the devs over the game I don't really have a lot of questions for a FAQ type thing. Here are some questions that I feel are asked directly or indirectly pretty frequently What's your general perspective on minion 'swarm' builds at the moment? Has the horn of battle been altered in 1.2? What your current perspective on team matchmaking. Do you see it in the near fu
I just had a game with jarjar against 2 Erebus and 1 UB. It was just impossible to counter them at any time anywhere. 5 minutes into the game , they were already all over our base and could have easily destroyed the Citadel, if it was a Conquest game: Reduced 57% <div c
If the ability doesn't fire, the player with the item is frustrated because he didn't get a snare that would have allowed him and his team to gank an opponent. He was unlucky. If the ability fires, but not until too late, it's the same result If the ability does fire, his opponent is frustrated because he got unlucky. All this kind of mechanic seems to do is frustrate and introduce a large amount of luck into engagements, which as I said, is poor for the competi

Conversely making spit no longer work on them seems silly, that just sounds like you'd rather break the toys if you can't have all of them.
I read it. I stand by my statement.
Not a big surprise since you didn't offer any reasoning for it in the first place.
I'm very proud of you for having learned the meaning of the word concession (you do realize I used it correctly right?), but I think you missed the point.
The other day I was in a pantheon game where a player on my team was spiking to 2k. I conceded and asked him to do the same, as the game seemed like it would be unplayable. However, he didn't respond and the game went on well past the point where we could concede without taking a loss, which is the first problem. Once we were past the three minute mark he could have conceded for a completely different reason than I conceded and forced a loss on me. His connection problem
