Ok this will be a fairly large post and i hope i cover all of the particulars here, Demigod which has been an aove avergae game of it type at launch had over 120000 players logged in playing, no mind you only 18000 of those were legitmate connetions creativeg server hell for the 50000 the server was actually capable of supporting with less lag. There have been a suprising number of patches but have there realy been any serious improvements? I will say both yesand
Honestly, I don't think so. Right now your chances are you get dropped into one of the less popular game modes and you will hear: 'A player has left the game'. So now his team will probably quit too. I don't see how that is better than one player leaving the lobby, somebody else joins instead and the game is actually played.
This is some hyperbole. Today wa san average day for me; I played a handful of pantheon games and the only time anyone quit was when I bailed on a game that

Nah, pantheon/skirmish are a different beast entirely. I usually get a drink, make some food, or browse the internet while I wait on connections and my memory isn't as reliable on bad players as it is on good ones. Also it takes so absurdly long to get games going at times that it wouldn't be worth the effort. As for being a light TB, I initially found out how it works when I got dark rook on accident... that was funny at first but when I ended up with roo

That particular permutation might struggle against minion swarmers depending on how aggressive/good they are. Still though it's a super fun build and the orb is amazing. What do you think of the early siege hat? People knock it, but I like it quite a bit. It's 500 a pop on buildings and 200+ on low armored DGs, I think it's really underrated. Also beware of trebuchets. A pure tower build really, really struggles with them on fortress mode. I had a crucible game where the guy got

I was thinking about premades, stats, and all that stuff and it occured to me that the way we used to check stats back in the starcraft days was with a simple /command charactername (I forget what the command was). SD says that interace changes have to be impelmented by GPG, but I believe SD runs both the game stat database and Impulse... would it be possible to set it up so that you can just do shit+tab and then /stats playername to get a brief synopsis from the chat server?</p
This would also help against "unbalnced" pre-made situations. You join a game with 3 guys in the top 100 on one team, and the other has guys in the top...10,000, you could atleast atempt to balance the teams based on the ranks shown. People will then know what they are getting themselves into instantly instead of having to do the alt+tab search over and over.
I'd thought about this quite a bit. The premade vs. pug thing right now is kind of a layered problem because not only doe
Player name field : As you can see it is empty for all players but yourself to make it harder to play with premade teams. I'm sure some people will find a new way to get into the same match and stuff but at least it will help a little
Impulse chat. Just coordinate a DG switch, it would be extremely easy to identify your partners. The ready check option would stall out the already long process of matchmaking. Players would get much less attentive on

Pacov, Kokujin, Coss, MrWhomp, Zechnophobe, and MSNT all played really well, Coss was especially nice and I know there's half a dozen others that I could list if I thought about it some more. and Over the past two weeks almost all my experiences have been quite positive so any omissions aren't intentional. *edit* haven't played with him lately but I had a really fun match against a premade with lethstang on my team, he's a very solid player.

Honestly I think that saying the forums are full of trolls and unproductive is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Just ignore who needs to be ignored and ban who needs to be banned and continue the dialogue.
As a long-term goal removing custom game rankings make sense, but only when team auto-matching is impelmented. Weren't you arguing against this before? I only read the TL:DR part. Not trash talking, I'm actually surprised you changed your perspective on it. Glad we can agree on it.
I would say that I've changed my mind in that I accept rankings as a more effective matching tool than I did befor
So yeah, there is predictive power in stats, but its not as straightforward as you might think. A key thing about stats is that they arent dominated by how good a player is.
I'm not trying to say that I can, as a third party, predict the outcome of a match by players' stats (except in the most obvious cases). I'm saying that the stats, even as-is, are sufficient to enable players to pit temselves against challenging but not unbeatable opponents. In ot
I don't see any reason to stop ranking custom games even with matchmaking, just make sure all stats/rankings are separate and independent by type.
Here's some reasons why, as a long-term goal which coincides with team mathcmaking or comes afterwards, I think custom game rankings should be removed: The top end of custom game ranking is not about competition and likely never will be There are too many types of custom games for a coherent overall rank. One thing I'd like to see tested, and by all means lemme know if this is retarded, is for QoT's open form range to be reduced fairly significantly so that when she chases a target she stays in range to use spikes. Currently she falls out of range and then maintains max firing distance which makes the followup difficult. I think Rook's armor is fine btw. Yes he has less armor than UB but he only has 400 less at level 20 and has about 600 more HP, a fair tradeoff in my opinion.</p

Not long ago when Frogboy announced that accurate stat tracking is at the top of his to do list I balked, and when he said that custom games should no longer be ranked I was delighted. I was wrong on both counts. Proper stat tracking seems pointless when you look at the top 100 and see that the majority have well over 90% win rates, when you see the rank 8 player joining "no premade" games with a premade, and in a way it really is. The current system offers no insight into wheth

I really don't think a direct nerf to mines makes sense. If you had to nerf it I would prefer to see something more interesting like making boulder roll set mines off, deep freeze make the temporarily inert, that sort thing, but it's really not necessary. The problem is that if you nerf mines you need to start giving reg some other basic features like a real interrupt and a direct damage attack on a reasonable cooldown (no snipe is not a suitable direct spit/hammer slam/fireball
