#3. What's a little robot uprising between friends?

There's an anomaly exploration event that lets you discover a random tech, could you have done that?
This is epic (pun not intended). I hope the background document on the Festron becomes regarded as canon, it is so well done. I might suggest, however, that the actual decisions made in the game (what to research, what to build, etc) could be posted here in the forum so that new players could more easily learn from your strategy.
On Colonial Supplies - I agree that Colony (not Core) world approval doesn't matter much in the current game. However, political systems and elections (like GC3) were originally part of the game but were removed during the alpha/beta. Colony approval meant a great deal to the elections, so if they are brought back at some point this order would mean a lot more.
If you still can't see your avatar here (it looks fine to me), try logging out of the forums and then logging back in.
Very interesting, thanks for posting!
Select the colony you're considering upgrading. You'll see something like this in the lower left corner: Click on the planet icon on the lower right and it will bring up a list of possible upgrades: Mouse over them to see what they do, and if you want
Uh Uh Uh. What? What? I ... vote ... B.
I see it also. Same as your Discord avatar.
Turn down anti-aliasing.
That was it for me too. I've been playing with the default 8x with my GPU being driven at 100%. I turned it down to 4x, and now my GPU is under 50%. Much better.
Oh, now I'm going to have to play the Navigators again. They were the first race I played during the alpha test, and policies weren't in the game at the time.
Yeah but its doing it "wrong".
You're not disagreeing with me. I haven't called it wrong, but I have called it ludicrous and bogus.
There is definitely something wrong there. The attack value shouldn’t exceed the max attack. I wonder if there’s some fleet buff that is letting it roll a higher number.
The battle log has been like this ever since the change (during the beta) to make every attack do at least 1 damage.
Very entertaining so far. Good luck on the game!
It's probably classed as support because it's a carrier. In none of the battles I've bother to look at the logs for has it fired a shot. Never got in range.
-Performance. I'm running Elden Ring on max settings without my PC sounding like I'm at the intake of a jet turbine engine but this game chugs something serious.
I've got an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 which GC4 was driving at 100% in the galaxy window. I saw a tip from someone and used the NVIDIA Control Panel, Manage 3D settings, Program Settings to cap the FPS for galciv4.exe to 61 fps. My fan is quieter now. Not that that's the best solution, but it
I haven't tried it yet but I think you can stack, yes. Edit: My answer was specifically about econ star bases.
Fantastic look into the Xeloxi!
As far as I know, the bonuses from the Economic starbases are percentage increases to manufacturing, research, income, and do not apply to the minerals, tech, etc sent from a colony to its core world. Which is why you can't build an econ starbase if there is no core world in range.
Yes, the influence range has no effect on relics. Also, in a few turns your starbase will extended its influence around the relic.
(1) There is a faint circle around the constructor you use to create the starbase. That circle marks the limit of the range. You might have to zoom in to see it. When your constructor gets close enough to a resource or relic a line will appear from the resource/relic to the constructor indicating that the resource/relic is now in range. Again, you might have to zoom in to see it. (2) No. The only benefit you might get from a resource/relic outside the starbase range is if you later ma
It seems that the defense will never get higher than 1 less the attack result....no matter how much defense I actually have.
You are correct. During the beta the developers changed the battle system so that every attack will always do at least 1 damage, regardless of the defense. I don't recall the problem that this change was intended to solve, but it now leads to ludicrous errors in the battle log, showing that a pira
There was a person on Discord yesterday who had this problem. It turned out that he had to whitelist everything in the folder that has GalCiv4.exe in it. He's using Avast for his antivirus.
Elerium: I've never seen it in the game yet...after many many hours played....much too rare.
What are your galaxy settings for Nebulas? If you have very few nebulas you'll have very little elerium.
