Mmm my initial enthusiasm for the game is waning too. I agree with the comment about the late gameplay, but overall I am now finding the whole game pretty ordinary. Everything is just dull and uninteresting...there is nothing that makes you want to keep playing or even coming back to it. Overall it is a sound game, with some technical hitches, it just lacks that certain something. Like watching a black and white movie compared to a colour one.
concern
Always glad to hear there is acknowledgement and a commitment to fix. This game is an uncut gem.
There seems to be a problem with the auto end turn option in a situation where all of your active units are in cities. The game just keeps auto-ending the turn until in a blink of an eye 50+ turns have passed. How do you interrupt the auto end turn without disabling the option?
Can someone please explain to me the actual impacts of citizen morale/happiness? I am currently playing all my games and trying to keep my citizens happy, but I don't understand if this is helping or hindering me. Does a high morale actually improve production, research, economy, and reproduction or does a low moral adversely affect these? When I see the end game results, I always seem to keep my people happier than others...maybe I am wasting my time!
Haha - I suspected that answer would come. I probably did not invest enough of my tech in actual military options, so when war came I could not defend myself adequately. I was hoping for the peaceful lovey dovey outcome...
Hi there, looking for some sage advice from the community. I tried for a technological victory yesterday, creating a race from scratch with some decent research, economy and defensive bonuses. By mid-late game all was going well. I was starting to research the final 'blue' tech items needed for a victory and I had a reasonable defensive fleet. My problem, was that the Terrans were out of control. One by one they conquered my neighbours and slowly their attitude went from frien
I am afraid I don't have time to review all other reported bugs to see if this is a duplicate. I think we need a more managable reporting interface. Anyway, here are some from me: 1) Other races constantly demanding tribute for zero years. eg: "pay me 127 bc for 0 years". 2) When you offer tribute in a negotiation in order to purchase tech, ships etc, it actually seems to add to your income each year. Very handy! 3) Minor races seem to acquire unique trade goods with i
A few people seem to have posted messages which indicate to me that there is a lack of clarity about how exactly the game is going to be distributed to all of us beta owners. Can anybody assist and provide this clarity?
I feel that both the planet and the ship listings on the right side of the screen require some improvements: 1) More filtering/sorting options, 2) The font is too large (esp. for ships) and when you have a lot of ships, it is hard to get a quick overview of all of them, since the display does not fit many. 3) With a smaller font, perhaps you could include more data on the planets/ships as well. Thanks
When all minor races were eliminated by the computer players, selecting the Minor Race tab in the diplomacy screen causes an immediate CTD. For debug purposes, which files or logs should I post?
Just purchased the beta of Galciv, and spent a very enjoyable night starting to play. Great game. I would, however, like to provide some input of the current user interface. Maybe someone has already provided this feedback? In general the interface seems unpolished and difficult to use. The text scroll arrows, for example, are very small and sometimes hard to quickly get to and there is no support for the mouse scroll wheel which would be great. I know it's a beta, so
