The AI improvements are impressive. In my current game, the Yor contacted me 3x offering tribute and praise. I've seen 2 different cut-scene endings: military and cultural.

Glad you're going Gold on Monday. :CONGRAT:
The info on the ship list gives level, attack, defense and Hit Points of every ship. Starbases will always have a 0 for attack. My suggestion is for that number to show the Starbase's Defense Bonus. The Defense bonus is a good indicator of starbase development as: 1) starbases usually builds up Defense along with 1 or more other improvements 2) Defense is usually the last bonus that I max-out
If you are about to capture a race's last planet, do you think the leader would stick around or escape with his treasury hidden in some offworld bank? Jack is right, let the treasury die. Some AI are more likely than other to trade techs for gold over 50 months than others. Some wont trade at all. I like the 50 bc for 50 month trades. Is that better than 1500 up front?
You once used a point value for morality: 0 to 70+. The current ratings; Saintly, Good, Netural, Demonic , need to be expanded. Demonic is 0 - 20 and Saintly is 70+.
One thing I always wanted in Galciv is the ability to remove obsolete ships from military project. I dont need to see StarFighters when I can crank out Battle Cruisers at 1 per turn.
dont know. I just built 18 in 1 turn and my soldering went from 185% to zero (:( is Ver Installed: 0.9.033 Beta the most recent?
here's a new one: a system built 3 constuctors same turn. I made a convoy and sent them to adjacent sector. convoy had 3 moves left so i broke convoy and started building new starbase. 2 of 3 constructors moved. 3rd had no moves left. Zapped again :(
I'm playing Ver Installed: 0.9.033 Beta and just built my 1st Tir-Quan. I saved a game just prior to 1st build. Tir-Quan appears twice :( in social projects and once thereafter. Only the planet that builds it cant select it a 2nd time. Other planets can still select it and build more. I checked the debug file and found nothing useful.
ditto, using the mouse.
Building a Terror Star is perceived as an evil act by the AIs.
I've been noticing that my ship (constructors) movement points are sometimes reset to zero (:( 1) upon leaving orbit has zero points 2) switching to another ship (had 2 points reset to zero) I check debug and 2 possible messeages are: Debug Message: Could not find animation titled Icon24Trans in model 0ecobase01 (PlayAnimation) Debug Message: Could not find animation titled Icon in model 0ecobase04 (PlayAnimation) This surfaced in 5b and contines
Dont expect the Terror Star's speed to improve. It destroys Stars. BTW, even though they look cool, the movement of 1 is why I refuse to build them.
'The aphrodisiac is a trade good' and only 1 per galaxy. If Terrans dont complete it first, the planet that was building it has an null social projects and loses all the shields. Maybe 1/2 the shields could be converted to another social project.? The planet that was building it should appear in the next round's planet view.
The standard invasion is still free. Other invasions cost bc, planet quality, ect. If you chose an invasion type that cost 3600bc, it could explain your treasury drop. :notsure:
each time you fire, it takes 1 movement point.
thx carl!
Immeadiatly after launching a colony ship (before going to the Next planet view) put the cursor over an uninhabited planet in the system view. By left clicking on that planet, your just launched colony ship will colonize that planet. If the planet is already colonized, its population will increased by the amount on the colony ship. Either case, the colony ship is destroyed. This is all done without ever going to the starmap.
It took a while but I decided I do not like the new colonize function added to colony ships in beta 5. After launching a colony ship in a system with multiple planets, I like to investigate the other colonized planets to see what they are building. I can't do that without the colony ship being destroyed. I cant even click on an uncolonized world to see the mini-map without colonizing it. There is no reason I can think of making this feature mandatory as, after the planet views are done, the colo
When starting the game, the ? on War Party shows 100% bonus but after the election, +50. The game now CTD when toggling between IE and game. I saved before the toggle. Last few entries in Debug: Debug Message: Preparing to save game. Debug Message: Deleting previous save game. Debug Message: Unable to find file Data\SaveGames\December\. Debug Message: Unable to find file Data\SaveGames\December\.. Debug Message: Save Game. Debug Message: Sorting save game
I'm have a different issue: lost moves. It started in prior build and is still here. A ship has 1 move left, you click on different ship (turn off auto-pilot). The ship with 1 move left now has 0 and your turn is over. :( I looked at debug and couldnt see message. I also had ships leave orbit with 0 moves left. Will see if in new build.
I just built my first Party Palace. I was expecting a special Starbase with neon lights and signs :( , maybe a floating castle in space :)
Are you sure its not 'fogs of war'? Try cntl-R to redraw map. This make invisible stuff visible.
I like a combo of Bizarre and solitair: 'I would vote for just 1-2 ships' of the next highest quality 'that aren't available from the standard tech tree'. If Overlords are current then make them Battlestars (as in the os/2 version). Didn't the discovery of 'Near Omnipotence' give Battlestars?
The only problem I have with high productivity is running out of social projects to build. I've had games where my top 20 planets were just building Overlords and no socials (my current game heading there). There is no cap need. Just make it economically unfeasible for 3+ 'factory' starbases to exist in sectors. The way to fix this is to fix tribute: 1) when a race dies, do does it tribute 2) war stops tribute 3) fix minor races ability to pay massive amounts of tribute and
