Wow....what a confusing situation. Honestly, short term, the only major issues I have are the bow problem and the mana loss problem. I haven't run into any other game breakers in the latest version. I'm glad Stardock is working hard to get updates out as often as possible, but we are definitely seeing some community confusion as a result of the way this is being done. Not sure why this ha

[1.08] Mace 6 Damage next higher tech weapon -> Warhammer 5 damage Please acknowledge this is correct or not and that it will be fixed... Suggestion SD/Frogboy... create a Bug forum that we can post silly crap like this and have a SD QA person then check and confirm it's a bug acknowledge it or explain it is as designed.... I get it if it is supposed to be this way... wait... no I don't if it's supposed to be this way... why? Tell me w
Quoting Frogboy, reply 2 Fixing the bug in monster loot necessitated a review of the cost of weapons and such. Our primary game play changes are actually in a separate branch that will show up in v1.1 (new UI, new spell system, etc.). But having monsters give 2000 gildar loot was game breaking and was never the intent. Fixing the loot from monsters is all well and good, but

PEACE through STRENGTH... Ronnie Reagan Them were some good years! Ofc I was in College during the 87 recession but that was just a few years impact not like today's market... Anyhow if the AI is giving you the beat down then change how you start so that you can have enough might to balance the AI's assessment of your strength and you'd find the AI to be as peaceful as ever. The Game Start(first 10-20 turns) are critical though! Good

To be completely honest, I have not had yet with 1.08 a hard time generating enough Gildar, Ive two towns with two Gold mines each, Ive one with 4 That's FOUR gold mines and half of the rest all have one gold mine... gold or gildar is not my issue, and for those playing ridiculous difficulty and complaining that the game is ridiculous ...I laugh because you're being ridiculous if you expected something else... But what get my

Is it me, or does the weapon balance in idea make sense from 1.07 but in 1.08 what is the reasoning to have a Mace do 6 damage and a warhammer only do 5 damage? Am I Missing something? Why on God's good earth would I want a warhammer now? You'd think a Warhammer would at least do 7 or 8 damage? Didn't anyone look at the numbers? Fire your QA department SD you need ppl with a sense sense of attention to detail.... Also WTF is with 2 and 3 shards spawning

1. it's a game 2. the game mechanics operate as Stardock intended....hopefully 3. Still the OP makes a strong arguement for an experience that would be more intuitive and ultimately fun I think. here's looking forward to patch 1.08 !!! Note ATI released a new win7 64 bit driver package for the HD radion series GFX cards. TODAY!
One thing though, can the A.I win in way? I'd love a few "Umber are nearing completion of the Spell of Making" type messages or " The other Kingdoms are allying against us", things to force our hand.
I agree Some Factions should have a tendancy to achieve an alternate victory , If an indicator is provided to players as the AI nears an alternate victory then it can force a player to make a choice... I think eHandel forget what his/her first game was like with auto-turn enabled I did not even realize the turn count had ticked over 50 w/o having built my first town. I'd recommend turning Auto-turn off so you know when the next turn ticks over. That right there will help slow the pace down a bunch. Int eh current implementation there are 4 ways to win, only one is a military takeover of everyone. there is the Alliance/Peace rout and the Spell of

MoM was EPIC in its own way... like LOTR pre -movie era, to utter otherwise is Blaph amous!!!! :P :D On the Population thingy... would it make sense to somehow tie ones reputation from adventure and diplomacy to a polynomial influence to one's prestege? ie. the more you make a name for yourself the faster your population can grow... But my question is... What are all the idle folks doing in our elem

so why haven't you increased the pacing setting? I'm trying a medium map on hard with a fast pacing to see what happens if you will... In 4x games as well as RTS games the early game matter a ton going into the mid and late game era's since these games are essentially economic or population growth games they are geometric or logarithmic growth sims to some degree and the faster your growth engine the less handicap or greater strength you'll have ... fundamental trait to th

Yes please Fix the OOM errors! Not Spam unless ppl are posting about errors they are not getting ie. after the oom errors are truely fixed, then if people continue posting for no reason but to be annoying, then it is spam. For now these posts serve a purpose that purpose is to let the Devs know what are our pain points. Be glad if you are not getting OOM errors, it does not make the threads spam however.

The champs who give +1 to tech or arcane development do NOT need to be in any city, but for some like the +20% City Production bonus they do need to be in the city and then some I cannot tell if I am geeting a bonus or not in or out of the city so I just assume I am getting it both ways, though it could be bugged and I'm not. This is the +1 Gildar champs. I wish it was either better explained or indicated on a dashboard somewhere in game. It is frustrating trying to o

I use Bows mostly for ranged and back them up with Fireball or Ice Blast(sp?) which causes a round loss of combat. Late game I use Infernal a lot for groups when my earth Giants AOE is down. I rely on magic but mostly for transport(teleport) and summons, late game for heals and City/champ buffs. Magic for Damage is a near last resort to save other untits from near certain death. (IMHO this is as it should be but looking forward to better AI and balance overall)

Win 7 64-bit 4GB system RAM, ATI 4850 1GB VRAM here. I get OOM mostly on medium map sizes and above. Ive been staying with small maps and only half the maximum number of factions and I have noticed a marked reducion in the frequency and subsequently the quantity of OOM CTD's. It seemed that max AI players and larger map sizes made the OOM hit me evry 50 turns early on then decreased to 5-6 turns before late game. Too annoying to play like that. But Ive

First off, Great Discussion and the OP has some valid points... There are Brilliant folks in this community, (some to much so for their own good) ;P but nonetheless brilliant for it. #2 What you discribe is not an exploit when the game mechanics intentionally exist to allow for it. Are there bugs in the process? maybe? But Bugs do not make an exploit. This game is so new that even the devs do not seem to know what is a bug and what is not y
Linux gamers are actually a bit more numerous than Mac gamers, if Quake Live is any indication. And they seem a lot more starved for good games (see average money paid for Humble Indie Bundle). And contrary to what some people say, you don't have to spend a lot of effort supporting multiple varieties of Linux. Linux users are exceptional at helping themselves and if you target only one distribution (like Ubuntu) the pack leaders will transla
