Serious, potentially game-breaking Beta3C bug! See https://forums.elementalgame.com/388545 Unfortunately, it looks like you will need to quickly provide a fixed version for this one. Best regards, Steven.

Win 7 Pro Fullscreen mode Elemental at 1280x800 resolution (in windowed mode the cursor keeps teleporting around the screen so it's not particularly useful). When Taskbar is set to Autohide there is no issue, however I prefer to have the Taskbar show. When the Taskbar is on Show, both left and right sides of the fullscreen Elemental window can't be used for scrolling. On the left side the Taskbar icons come up briefly and no scrolling occurs, on the right side the cursor can

Exactly. I would have preferred the game itself to get a little more attention. Because there has been so much emphasis on the mod tools, that is both good and bad. I think the game itself could have been significantly better if just a little bit less attention had been placed on the mod tools, and I don't think it would have been a particularly costly tradeoff (for modding capability). The game is fun (as of 3B) but it doesn't seem like it will be revolutionary, which

If logging in does not work on the Elemental forums on one particular computer (Chrome and Firefox browsers), and quoting and replying (when previously logged in), how do I make it again work? Custom images of members don't show up as well. I might have corrupted something when it took a while to post a post, but its strange that Firefox (which I didn't use initially) also had the same problem. Any ideas on how to fix it if it still needs fixing? Best regards,<br /

Yes, like in Civ (IV anyway). However, unlike Civ, make the confirmation like an Advisor confirming that you want to declare war against . (I mean, saying "Your head would look good on the end of a pole" like in Civ 4 would be hard to come back from, even if you just said it to someone once. It is a bit weird the way it is handled in Civ 4 because it sounds as if the leader you're saying it to asks you to confirm. ;-)) Best regards, Steven.

[quote who="Tasunke" reply="21" id="2686730"]Cities Cost Maintenance ... it increases at N for each new city (so 5 cities would cost 15 maintenance// 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5) captured cities should cost double maintanence ... so if you have 2 cities and 3 captured cities it would go like ... (1 + 2 + 6 + 8 + 10) or 27 maintenance these captured Cities should also start with 0 Influence and take a LOT of time to expand influence (say 5 turns per 1 tile radius) <

Life is way too complex for black and white thinking to ever work in more than a handful of cases. The fact is, there is no-one who is completely 100% perfect, and there is no-one who is perfectly 100% vile. But I would sooner trust someone who doesn't have a vested interest in getting more power than someone who has. And companies can't be voted out (except by mass consumer backlash), politicians can, so companies have a higher proof level then the ordinary person on the st

Good points. I think that the best societies are the ones that have the *most* sharing around of power, and the smallest difference between the most well-off and the least well-off. ie. not too much power in any 1 person's/entity's hands, and the ratio of what the people at the very bottom earn to the those at the very top is not too low. Who was it who said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."? Best regards, Steven.

I have found on my computer that 97% of my load game attempts work when "Skip Intro Cutscene" (Gameplay option) is checked. I don't know why that happens, just that it seems to work almost all the time when that option is checked and none of the time when it is unchecked. I think it's worth trying for the moment to see if it helps you load games successfully. [e digicons]^_^[/e] But I definitely agree that there are problems with the loading game system as it is in 3B.

I think a problem is, if you build an improvement by clicking on the special square, it doesn't count as if it is being built by the town. For example, a Farm on Fertile Land, can either be built by the town, using up its production capacity, or built by clicking on the square its own, which doesn't use up the town's production capacity. This is a bit weird and maybe analogous... It seems you only need to worry about regular buildi
