The other data point I forgot to mention is I'm buddies with Altar - at war with everyone else. Altar has some metal but he wants 10 gildar per metal, so making the cheap unit and upgrading it is the most cost effective way to make the better unit (to get the additional 7 metal from Altar would cost me 70 gildar).

Hi Derek - I'm in a competitive game with very little metal, there is one mine we're fighting for in the middle, all in all a great game. But, I know others have posted about it (like Tuidjy) but wanted to illustrate a point regarding some basic upgrade costs. I noticed this when trying to make use of each metal asset at my disposal. In short, if I create a boar spear chick I'll spend 109 production and 8 metal. If I create a basic spear chick, I'll spend 9
Hi Brad - tactical combat locked up on AI unit, wouldn't continue nor if I auto-played. Had to autoresolve to get out of the combat. Here's the most current save & debug . Autoresolve ended in a loss for me, which was devastating. [e digicons]XO[/e] This is the locked up screenshot. Right after this
I'm not seeing expansion issues with insane world and expert faction AI. I'm in a competitive game at the moment. I always play vanilla sovs, unless playing HF's Stormworld. Currently playing as Tarth. Enjoying this one!
Hi Derek - ending turn would not fix the ZOC bug. However, I saved and reloaded the game, and it fixed it.
Hi Derek - check this one out. I originally built this outpost and then added a Hightower upgrade. A couple of turns Kraxis took it over, I chased him down like the coward he is and took it back. Now it reflects only 1 ZOC radius, not 3 as intended. Weird. Here is the save . <img src="https://dl.dropbox.com/u/19969679/Fallen%20Enchantress/0992/FallenEnchantress_1350791978.jpg
I'm really looking forward to playing with this and the map editor.
Yeah agree, get it!

Well said, Sean.
Bump So, in addition to the ctrl-N slowdown, I've also found out that multiple loading/saving of the game also grinds the game to a halt. Is this going to be addressed before final release?
I don't think so. Known garbage collection or leak problem. What I do: never load a game from within a game. Shut down FE and restart. I believe they have a dedicated engine guy improving&nb
hot diggidy dawg, karma for captain jack and joeball.
I'm not implying that they 'need' our approval, but what's the point of having beta testers for anyways?
Primarily to: Identify user specific crashes, conflicts, etc. specific to the user's rig. In-house QA cannot test or foresee all possible configuration issues without spending a grip of time and money. Overall test the waters - they polled us several times on what was important, and
Ready for release! We can nitpick all day on loose ends but it's ready to go. Time to see how the market reacts. I hope it's well received, money starts pouring in, the devs can relax for a bit... and then come back in full swing with updates, assistance to modders, and expansions. [e digicons]:jafo:[/e] I really want the excitement to take off post-release, imagine 10 more Seans and HF's around here modding stuff. Oh, the glory!
Awesome, Brad. lol @ Jack, Captain of the Grammar Police. [e digicons][/e]
I've personally never experienced the save/load problems. With that said, I never load a game from within a game (memory leaks) and habitually manually save vs. relying only on autosave. When I do need an autosave, never seemed to be a problem. I do turn the settings to autosave every turn.
Ya know, in my current game I noticed, while researching trading, I suddenly had roads connected my two cities... I thought it was weird but since others are seeing it too it does seem like roads might be broken. Which does not bode well for the gold release on Tue. Very strange.
More results, more results!
I haven't used autoturn since the first time I loaded up EWOM.
The answer to this, my friends, is of course, 42. FE's # is in good company. [e digicons][/e] Getting serious for a moment, comparing to Sid's Alpha Centauri, which has a 92, I would give FE an 87. For me at least, Alpha sets the bar - FE is closing in.
Man, that Pony in game brings tears to my eyes...
It is really fast end game. SD has done a wonderful job improving the overall performance of the engine.
I get the feeling the whole armor thing is simply a design decision on whether city defenders are a ragtag militia or a geared garrison. Now there is some illogical stuff in the current design, as the militia's weapon does upgrade as the techs increase. So, in reality, we have naked militia members scrambling to defend their city, leaving behind any available armor, but grabbing the latest bad ass high-tech weaponry.
