Well, that by itself wouldn't crash the game. It'll just display black where the picture should be. The g drive it's referring to, isn't really referring to one of your drives. It's from the compiled code. However, if the ship had been deleted and the ship data window wasn't properly cleared, that would have caused a crash. We'll check into it.

The domestic trade screen that lists all of the trade routes that you own, or the screen where you trade with the aliens, that you can get to from either the Foreign Policy screen or by clicking on the "speak to" button on their star system lists?
The Script errors don't cause crashes or anything, but if CVS doesn't overwrite my changes AGAIN then those errors should go away. The Bad Memory lines are usually from loading a saved game (there was a resource leak in the loading code that I didn't catch until after the build went up).
Try running in 1024x768 at 16 bit color and see if that helps. As Fredrik is suggesting, you may need new video drivers, but we've had problems before where simply changing the color mode would work.
It's ok. :)
I'm referring this to someone who should be able to help you.
For those of you who don't know what this is, this program creates log files when Gal Civ crashes so that you can send them to us. This is the most recent version. You will need to reboot before running it. http://storage.stardock.com/files/smartexception090.exe
We are going to be putting the social project currently being built on the planet list again. The population view of the minimap should be a lot better now in this build. I've got the other stuff noted.
That's a good suggestion, Fredrik. I put it on my list of stuff to implement.
If your sensor ability is increased by building Eyes of the Universe or some other method in game, it breaks the FOW. We are testing a fix for that now; we couldn't quite get it ready in time to go up last night.
You should be able to play if you enable all the alien races. The next build will fix this problem.
In the current build, there is a bug where the game will crash if you start with less than 5 alien races. The work-around is to play with all races. I fixed the instance that I found and I'm about to test to try and weed out any other instances. Sorry about this. --Cari
Yep, I just reproduced this bug with input from someone else. So I'm afraid that you'll have to play with all the races until we get a fix out.
Hmm...maybe the prefs.ini file was messed up...
hmm...well the attempt to play unregistered file probably doesn't have anything to do with it, but your Economy is definitely hosed. I saw it happen to two of the AI players in one of my games, but I wasn't sure what happened. We'll take a look at the economy code.
There is a bonus for being in orbit.
Did you do anything to get it working again? I had someone e-mail me saying that they got a crash when they tried to start the game, even after a fresh install.
hmm...so you hit the turn button, the invasion screen popped up, and then the GNN? The invasion screen must have been delayed from the AI's turn...
Hmmm...but you can still play it, right?
Yeah, they didn't cancel their invasion when they were after that star.
It's random right now, actually. It's really annoying when they vote against you. :)
Ok, I fixed the ESC bug.
Umm...actually, I think that they are...I'm not sure if that's intentional or not because I didn't write that code. I'll check into that.
Hmm...well, something is getting overwritten, probably when a save game is loaded. Also, you appear to be missing the model for Ship07, which is the StarHawk that Brad uploaded to the library last night. The little shiplist box is the Stacked Ship List, it shows all the ships in a stack.
Ummm...was it through invasion or attacking your ships? You may have just been next on their hit list. Or maybe we need to put code in where it stops and checks to see if the Torians are dead...
