That's ok Cari, I guess we couldn't keep our relationship a secret much longer, and I think I've almost come to terms with the jealousy thing... er... ah... well, almost. Now, will the rest of you guys cool it!
LOL, I figured that someone was going to try that! No, particlewave is not my boyfriend, but my boyfriend IS a registered user. He was a GC2 player before he met me. When he found my profile on Match.com, he recognized my name, so he got out
Wait! This isn't the kind you're allergic to, is it?
I don't think so. I'm thinking that it might have more to do with chemicals used by the florists for preservation or something because I haven't had allergic reactions to any of the flowers I"ve grown in my yard, or potted flowers that I've received. And carnations, which are the only flowers I've had definite reactions to, are often dyed, so it could be the dye I'm allergic to. The coolest boquet

I'm not seeing any abnormal behavior. When I go back to the pre-designed race, I'm not getting any extra points than I'd get if I'd picked that race in the first place. What version are you playing?
What happened to the Constructor Manager that was promised for this patch? Why was it not included? I've had to stop playing GalCiv2 because managing constructors and starbase upgrades is so tedious. When can we expect this feature?
That will be in 2.0.

Ever since GalCiv1 came out, people have commented on how personally we the developers take comments/criticism on our games. Well, yes, we do take it personally, and that's really not a bad thing. It's because we love the game. We love what we do. The GalCiv2 team is composed of workaholics, no one more so than Brad. Between our love of the game and our workaholism, we've put a lot of ef

How much hard drive space do you have left on the drive where GalCiv2/DA is installed? It would be swapping memory in and out of RAM and VRAM, so if your remaining hard drive space is smaller than the allowed virtual memory size, that could explain why it crashes faster with larger galaxies. Also, is the base version of GalCiv2 updated to the most current version? If GalCiv2: Dread Lords is not at least version 1.5, you could be missing files.
CariElf, Happens on a Large galaxy. On tough AI (global), didnt tweak any custom AI settings. So far Ive had it happen with 5,6,and 8 AI's. Happens about 50% of the time (yes really ) Of course there's also the planet quality issue that I am sure you guys are aware of, however I'm hoping that any other people experiencing this speak up too, because while low amounts of colonizable planets is playable, a dormant AI is not. Thanks,
Can you please se
On the other hand, Cari is over in the main 1.8 thread saying that planets were reduced, and while they were going to bump them back up a little in an upcoming patch, they won't be back to the previous levels. I really hope this isn't a hardline stance.
The change in habitable planets was a quick change made by Brad to try and reduce the out of memory issues, which get reported a lot, even by people on great systems. We've really run out of easy ways to e

Yes, I received the PM and e-mail. I haven't seen this with Earth...Paul, can you send in your custom race also? Maybe that makes a difference.
So ... does that mean the 25th? Also there is a rater large bug I've been experiencing today, in where the AI does not build anything...(running 1.8). Its rather frustrating.
What difficulty level are you playing at, and what galaxy size? I was certain that we fixed that.
Is there a problem with the number of habitable planets under 1.8? There are a number of bug reports claiming that new games started under 1.8 had very few habitable planets.
The number of habitable planets was reduced in an effort to reduce the memory usage. We are going to raise it in another update shortly, but not to the previous levels.
Is it a safe guess that we should finish any 1.7 beta games before updating to 1.8?
You shouldn't NEED to, but you'll probably want to start a new game if you experienced the passive AI bug in beta 4.
