Please send in your debug.err (from My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar) to [email protected] and we'll see if we can determine the problem.

We fixed the bug that was causing this with another update, 1.7 beta 3a, the morning after 1.3 went up, so just get the newest version from SDC.
What does the Subspace Annihilator tech DO? Text implies that it doesn't provide a new weapon, but pumps up the effects of Subspace Blasters. But in play and in the evidence in the .xml files, it doesn't seem to DO anything. Is this an error that cna be corrected, or is the tech intended to be just an extra null effect step toward Doom Ray? Hmm, you're right. I'll ask Brad about that.
Sorry, I was short on time. The new event log feature is displaying missing string errors whenever a date is involved. CobraA1, Can you please check your DarkAvatar\Data\English directory and make sure that the english.str and screens.str file were updated? They should be 10/1 and 10/4, respectively. Another user who reported missing strings found that he had an english.str.tmp file in his directory, and renaming that to english.str fixed the
They probably didn't add your specific card to the .inf file. If you post on their forums, they can help you with that.
Make sure that you have the latest sound drivers for your sound card. If it's an integrated card, you'll probably have to go to the website for your computer's manufacturer or the motherboard's manufacturer for updated drivers. Also, you can try messing with the sound hardware acceleration to see if that helps. If neither of those help, it could be a codec from another program that is causing the problem. Do you have any media player programs installed other
What version of the game is that? I remember fixing that bug in DA, but if it's Dread Lords it probably hasn't been updated yet.
{Module_Requirement}{/Module_Requirement} In the 1.70c{b}.100 StarbaseModules.xml file, that line shows up as: {Module_Requirement/} I think that those are equivalent.
Kryo suggested running in a window. Did you try running in a lower resolution like 1024x768 to see if it happens in a window that's not fullscreen. Also, did I suggest that you check to see if there are any updated drivers for your monitor yet?
I only noticed this with DA 1.7 Beta 3 and don't know if it happened in earlier releases, but hitting the Foreign Stats button on the very first turn of the game shows all the major players (the minor races tab is grayed out until I actually meet a minor race). As soon as I get the Universal Translator, I can talk to any of them even though I haven’t formally run into them yet. In the last game, I had treaties with them even before I met them. David,
The combat crash should be fixed in the current version, which on SDC shows as 1.7c[b].001, and should say v1.7 beta 3a on the titlescreen.
This is fixed in beta 3, which is available now. Make sure that you get 1.7c[b].001
Hmm...well did you grab the update that we put up this morning? Can you see if it happens with 1.7 beta 3a as well?
CodeCritter is going to fix this for the next update (not this morning's)
You should have anti-aliasing set to application controlled in the NVidia control panel, as you tend to get better performance that way. Also, uncheck the Fullscreen option from the video menu then restart DA. That should help reduce that problem, but it will still appear fullscreen because you're running the game at the same resolution as your monitor. Finally, check the website for your monitor's manufacturer (Dell, Samsung, etc) to make sure that you have the l
Also, disable Mixed VP processing. It doesn't work so well on Geforce 4s.
It sounds like something that might happen with the bug that I fixed for beta 3, although they might be permanently invisible if the game got saved after the shipcfg was wrecked.
Yeah, it's not one of the options because it could be too imbalancing. Although, I added them in our default mod.
Should I finish my game 1st before I update? No, go ahead and update. What is the correct version after update we should see please? The current version is 1.7c[b].001.
The autopilot code doesn't use it because our pathfinding code would probably explode. If you want to sit there and move your ships by hand, knock yourself out.
We will be putting up an update shortly that fixes this issue.
Enable auto focus to move camera to selected ships This refers to ships that are auto-selected because they finish moving on auto-pilot and still have moves left. Move camera to selected colonies in colony list This is also working as intended. It's refering to the colony list on the Civ manager screen, not the planet list, which can show planets that are not owned by the player. We currently do
Hmm...I haven't seen this at all. Did you load a game and then start a new one or anything like that?
My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar. If they're campaign games, they'll be in the Dark Avatar or Dread Lords Campaign subfolders. Beta 3 is up now so please try your games with it before sending in anything.
Something wierd is going on with the SDC update page and this beta build. Yeah, we saw that too, but the lead developer of SDC was already gone for the night. Hopefully we can get that fixed soon. I'm getting garbled explosions. The crashes seem to be gone though. My textures for waypoints, and ship destinations are not displaying nicely either. Hmm...it sounds like you guys didn't get the
