You pro MP guys do realize that you can always make a "MP Balance Mod" for Sins that has what you guys feel are balanced stats, right? Granted, that's really a last resort if the developers aren't willing to make a balanced game, but the option is always there.
I think you miss the point of having a multiplayer pro scene. A lesson can be learnt from this----> don't buff the tec! Ryat and Mayall are not stupid for being unable to deal with Repulse esp with a race with a bad economy, no hull repair cruiser early game and has to rely on this late game tech. (now the domina-hihihi-thats a fun unit)

Javelis' out range repulsion at base level (per game code Javelis's range 9800, Repulsion 7500). That said, Repulsion has been an issue for a while so I agree with you MayallCommunion.
Ok thanks I was not sure about the range because im still new to getting into the codes of the game so I could not find them:p
You are strawmaning an argument. Also you are biased so... Haze never said that Javelis can kill Guardians, he said that he believes javelis can outrange guardian repulsion with Target Uplink, this may or may not be true, and if it is true we do not know how high in levels Target Uplink needs to be to actually make it effective against the Guardian, and even then it still is not an effective strategy because A) It requires you to go through a huge planning process B ) you
Looks good ;)!
Sithlord, you make me feel smarter after reading all that. So what would it take to actually go faster than the speed of light, or at least get to one planet to another(say mars) in a time efficient manner. Also another fun read, http://www.informationweek.com/news/government/policy/232900877 This makes me happy, I feel like we're actually going to start DOING something with our pl
Well the ship DOES die xP
Advent Loyalists ultimate, culture. Thats pretty much it, I wish there was a way to do it without genocide as well.
Stick to your same strategy and neglect bombers in rebellion-lets see if you get far
Read above. @haze: They may, but I didn't have an Akkan so :/ I do see the reason behind your solution though. Although their armor type is heavy and using LRF's to just counter Guardians is probably one of the worst cost decisions you can make.
No. Because one unit should not have one counter, therefore it is imbalanced. Also I am going to disregard your analogy because analogies are a flawed argument( read ) "That he resorts to argument by analogy shows his argument is probably devoid of logic, evidence or facts." Again I will make the point, this is not about if I countered properly. This is about the ridiculousness of the ability, you
Because bombers do not counter them... Thats the whole point of Halcyons... And Advent mass Defense Vessels anyways.. Although that did not happen in the replay. Just watch the replay and you will understand. The utility of Repulsion needs a nerf. I'll just break it down. I went to attack xenos capital, he had nothing left I wiped out his entire army, this is around where I had somewhere over 20 kodiaks, 20 flak, corvettes, and my capital ship. I watched the replay and even
First off anyone that says anything about me being biased knows this isnt true because anyone who plays with me knows I play Advent in 95% of my games, my opinion is the exact opposite of biased, also the Advent are no longer this frail race anymore because LRF rushes no longer work against them. I don't need to be lectured about Advent weaknesses, my whole point is at the press of a button their fleet should not be immune to damage. Hoshikos are not an ace card, and you know that.&n
So one single ability is allowed to counter 95% of the lineup of ships. LRF's have multiple counters, Scouts, flak, corvettes. LFS have multiple counters Heavies, LRFS, strike craft. Flak has multiple counters, Heavies, LF's. Im calling bullshit if you expect me to believe that Sabotage Reactor, an Antisupport ship ability, is not supposed to work exclusively on ONE support ship. Also if you actually noticed the time that he got out the Guardians, it was AS SOON
There is no actual way to tell if the opponent has redbuff. You can scout a Temple of Communion on a high pop world, you can scout kosturas, you cannot scout a red button you have to assume. And it comes down to game balance. Losing a whole fleet to one ability is broken, game balance > fun. Then again you can say its fun for you to kill the whole fleet, it sure isnt fun for me to lose a whole 700 supply fleet because someone wants to turtle all game.
Not an excuse, there needs to be other ways to counter Red Button than their are available. Aside from that Red Button doesn't even hurt titans that much.
Esorah we never played a game together. I said I did not want to play a comp stomp. So what the hell are you going on about? You must be getting me mixed up with someone else.
Kostura does not work against Starbases. And Ogrovs do not outrange a full upgraded Red Button.
Yup. http://www.sendspace.com/file/1wl1bm Dont fall for the fake adds, the replay is the button in the center of the screen, not top center. p.s: Repulsion outranges sabatoge reactor(I believe so) Edit: Granted both my opponents played poorly and both reacted poorly even though they had been Red Button'd many times. The imbalance however still shows, you should not ever be able to 1 hit kill a whole fleet u
Well I was just playing around I don't really expect you to stalk my posts:p But here are some where ive hinted toward my hatred for red button. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/423353 https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/423134 https://forums.stardock.com/422889 &
Quoting Howdidudothat, reply 22I'd like to join the cause to return RB to normal. I never heard of anyone saying RB was weak, so what even started the idea of giving it a buff is beyond me. I thought it was weak but then I've never seen anyone use it on the edge of a phase lane before (even in the replays of pro games). That said, they only buffed the range by 1000/2000. Considering the gravity wells in Rebellio
Pirates need a rework to be honest, but a starbase is almost necessary to stop super weapon spam against them.
In short, its a fun idea I've been using coming up with inside my head. It would be awesome if maybe a modder would be able to do this but if stardock were to pay attention I think this mode would be very interesting and none bland as some of the other ones that came out. Also it would make pirates a more viable, and hopefully bridge the gap between being to hard for newbies and to easy for Pro's. Note: I don't expect this idea to really go through or anything. But maybe it w
I think it's silly to have an explosion have a square damage pattern. I mean, 9000 damage 14000 clicks away from the SB, then 0 damage 14001 clicks away. It should be a gradient. Then it would be OK to have a stupid range, since the fringe damage would be negligible.
This would be a good solution.
quoting post I have consulted several skilled players and all agree that this buff is totally uncalled for and will have negative impact on gameplay. Please, reconsider rolling back RB to it's previous values. Please don't provide hearsay as evidence of a needed change if said skilled players feel this issue is worth voicing concerns over they can do so here on the forums.
I dont see a problem with it guys. It would let them Aux Govt there planets so AI's wont Novalith spam them. It would also make the game more interesting as well. A new starbase model would be awesome.
