If it's to stay like that, it would make more sense if Eta Sector Remnants were Vasari across the board.
I think having different neutral races would be really cool. Make the neutrals Vasari to show that TAR didnt work against them, but maybe this should only occur over volcanic planets to make it more consistent. I personally wish that Advent would occupy Desert worlds as well :c
It is not flawed...superior players can lose because they have an awful start (or an awful team) and inferior players can win because they have a fantastic start (or a strong team)...great strategists have lost to inferior commanders because of terrain, numerical inferiority, economics, or just bad luck...the principle behind why a great general like Lee or Hannibal can lose and the reason why a tier 1 pro can lose to a tier 2 pro is no different
Quoting MayallCommunion, reply 2I do think however that Fury of the Unity needs to be moved to hostility the cost is just way to high for that tech when combined with Retribution. I just get bothered when seeing things like this, the TEC get these huge % damage increases and nice buffs with good costs, but the Advent get all these inefficiencies it just bothers me. So I felt the need to post about it. Much of the Loyalists bonus co
Quoting MayallCommunion, reply 58Draakjacht you need to stop comparing persons in real life to a video game it is different dude :/ I shall defer to my original statement: Quoting Seleuceia, reply 54I think you are missing the point...
I really dont see how im missing a point, you cant compare real life to a video game. I know what point is being made, but it is a flawed point.
Well, I did also suggest people actually use their noggins when observing battles, but if you want to go the mindless route of counting wins and losses, then just ask the devs for perfectly symmetrical maps to add to the current variety. I'm sure they can make it happen. Then the few that care can go and find out who's the 'best'.
Alot of the premade maps are symmetrical as far as I know all of them
The Fury of the unity probably should be buffed, as it only applies to culture. But ancient retribution is hands down one of the best techs in the game, since those bonuses do not have any conditions on them. That's basically 2 damage techs, one range tech, and one shield regeneration tech for all ships, and I'd take it over a friendly gravity well bonus any day.
Yeah I wasn't going to say the abilities ar
I'm not sure why 'pros' require pre-made maps. If you're pro at all, you can adapt to the random maps. Radically symetric maps are boring, ugly, remove the need to scout and adapt to your environment. More importantly, they remove every suspension of disbelieve. Come to think of it, I'm actually happy there is no 'pro scene' as StarCraft has as SCII has been straightjacketed very much to s

So I finally got around to playing some more Advent Loyalist, and has anyone else noticed this as well, but the advent have to go down two separate tech trees to get two different damage augmenting techs. It takes 6000 credits, 480 ore, and 640 crystal in Temples of Harmony to get a 1800 credit, 350 ore, 550 crystal upgrade that only give +5% increase to damage(Fury of the Unity) while in culture. It takes 4500 credits, 360 ore, and 480 crystal in Temples of Hostility to get a
Quoting bilun, reply 2In part I suppose I'm just irked that the advent rebels get pretty much nothing for their early game whereas the loyals get substantial buffs which encourage a a previously underutilized strategy(which gives rise to a more unique early-game playstyle). Honestly I think all of the factions have their real unique stuff too far down the tech tree (save maybe TOR, but that is absolutely useless mid game). When
Quoting MayallCommunion, reply 7 Well I think the point is that, it sets you down the economy path(civilian trees) so theoretically you can go pure eco, spam comm towers around, and buy a crap ton of pirates. But I don't like the randomness of the ability. With the money to call one group of pirates, you can build around 3 military labs. Much better just to get those for LRFS, Corvettes, Hoshikos and carriers than to use p
A 1v1 I think makes asymmetries more apparent...the law of averages is going to make bigger maps with more players generally more "balanced" in terms of starting positions... If you have a crap start in a 1v1 but your opponent doesn't, then you are at a huge disadvantage...but in a 5v5, the odds of all "Blue" team's starts being awful and all "Red" team's starts being great is pretty slim... That being said, 1v1s

No. Its not. The ability should do what it is meant to do.
That the Eta Sector Remnants aren't affected by TAR is due to the fact that they are (or were) the ones used to protect the Artifact planet that appeared when the Occupation Victory condition was enabled.
actually having a random element adds something to professional play. Being able to adapt and overcome to situations that occur at the start is a way to ensure that there are more then one paths to victory, and makes for more exciting gameplay overall. This forces good TEAMWORK to overcome the opponents. Some games are frakked at the beginning, its true. Yet at the same time, watching players overcome adversity is

The Loyalist TEC, Rebel Vasari, and Rebel(?) Advent are going to cooperate to unite against what is chasing the Vasari. And see if they can stand against them.
