If you are an administer, you should be able to access all the system files. I would delete the internet files including cookies. Sometimes a file can be in there that causes such problems. Malicious cookies and such. Did you install anything? If you did, I would run Spybot, Search and Destroy. Adware can be tricky these days. I think you have a spy bug. Also, if you have multiple virus scanners on your system that might cause a boot up problem. But, I think its too soon for a complete system re

Z71, I don't like your idea. I'm sorry, but starting all over from zero seems to be harsh. If a old popular skin got 100,000 downloads over a couple of years, being innovative during its time and a lot of work for the artist, is suddenly updated to include all the WB4 goodies, are you saying that the artist should start at zero? It's actually very easy to add a per application exclusion. In the display properties, appearance tab, where windowblinds resides, choose advanced. Then in the windowblinds advanced window, under settings, choose per application. Then click, add per application and browse to find the exe on your hard drive. done. [Message Edited]

What are you trying to skin? There are so many different programs. And unfortunately, no easy answers. The best way is to start with a good graphics program and learn it well. Then, you have to start all over again, learning the skinning program. It takes a lot of time and patience.

1. Do you see a logon screen at all, when you start windows? 2. Under options, general options, make sure there is a check in the box that says, "auto switch user when logon is applied." That might help you see the logon you are applying.

I recommend saving all your background BMP files(wallpapers) to your windows directory. That is C:\windows. That way you can change them from display properties, as any backgrounds will show up it the desktop tab list. You can easily change the wallpapers that way by just right clicking your desktop and choosing properties, to get to the wallpapers. By the way, this is the default location of all backgrounds for windows.

The best place to put your wallpaper BMP images is in c:\windows. Then when you go to display properties, desktop tab, all your wallpapers will show there, and you can easily choose them.

Yeah, the display driver was my idea too, in the beginning. And, it seems to be the general consensus. Maybe he should try going back to a more stable video driver. One thing that I learned for sure was never to trust Windows Update to install second or thrid party drivers. Don't download video, sound or accessory drivers from windows update. That's a good point, pictoratus. Maybe he isn't using a default template anymore. You might also try to replace the wall with some of your working skins and try to apply a new wall that way. Does it work? Also, maybe you should make a skin a different way. Get one of your working Logons and copy it in the logon directory. Then just rename the folder and open the theme.ini file and change the Logonname there too(Its at the bottom of the file). You should then be able to restart LogonStud
