Is it currently possible to raid or blockade trade routes? If it is, then pirates should definitely do that. And privateers would be a very welcome addition. Also, I agree that there should be separatists on your low morale colonies. But if they succeed in separating, I don't want them to become a generic "rebel" faction. They should become a major (or maybe minor) with their own name and leader. Essentially a new fresh faction added in the middle of the game.

When you have a space battle near a planet, you can see it there on the background. The problem is, the planet spins too fast and therefore feels unrealistic. Also, the dialogue with other civilizations could be better. I've seen in the files that there are peace and war themes for each species, so why not play them when you talk with the respective civilization? When you are at peace, play the peace theme. And when you declare war, make the war music start immediately. Just like

Yes please. But what about a Peacekeeper like event? I didn't play GalCiv II, so I don't know if it would be good or bad. We need events that change the gameplay or that at least have some noticeable impact on it. It would help immersion and role playing, which I feel that is currently missing in GalCiv III. I have been thinking of other events that could create new factions, such as a separatist event that creates a new faction out of planets with low approval.

Bugs (with screeshots): - The icons for the planets are blacked out in the colonies list (left corner). I have already restarted the game, and it wasn't fixed. So far it happened only in this game: - The diplomacy screen gets all messed up after I declare war or ally with someone. If I close the screen and then reopen it,

If I remember correctly, in the last dev stream, Paul talked briefly about this, but I just want to make sure. So, it has already happened to me countless times that the AI colonizes a planet in my zone of control (ZOC), and sometimes even on systems which I already have a colony on. Of course, culture flip means that they will lose the colony to me in a few turns. Souldn't the AI know that it shouldn't be doing that and wasting its colony ships on it? Besides, that is a probl

I also think about placing the capital of the homeworld. It suffers with the same placing problems as any other colony capital, and besides, it is interesting for anyone who plays as the Terran Alliance, so that your capital won't appear in crazy locations on Earth (cough Siberia cough)

If you don't get lost for hours, thinking you're the true ruler of "Insert Faction Here", then I say hold off on official release. Some of the above comments may fit into this category. A few of them may even be petty, but if it breaks immersion then it kills the true experience for the player.[/quote] About that:

I like the idea, and it would make a lot of sense if someone wants to play a realistic/more plausible game. Just think about it: when humanity achieve interstellar travel, there will already be much older, larger and more advanced empires out there, and we will be just newcomers, with less advanced tech and no colonies. Civilizations don't simply spawn magically at the same time... Just think of Mass Effect, where the Alliance is the youngest of the races and therefore the weakest

@stardock Will politics and parties be added in any future expansion? I dream of a space strategy game with the same ideological and political depth of Paradox's Victoria 2. Also, would we be able to mod more or change the current ideologies to better represent political standings? (for example, instead of having Benevolent, Pragmatic and Malevolent, you could have Democracy, Imperial, Militaristic, Collectivist etc)

Just a bug report: in my Terran game, the Yor have declared war on me twice, and then just a few turns later, they proposed peace, without even taking any aggressive moves. I obviously accepted, as I didn't even have a military fleet (I think thats why they declared war on the first place). Oh and also, they would later vote me for the UP leader chair, despite hating me. I won. As a matter of fact, I have been chosen as the UP leader nonstop for quite some time already, and not on

Good, now I want to see moar! Also, I noticed that Stardock has a very old school way of seeing future Earth, with that Space Needle like tower in the background. I didn't see scenes like that for a looong time. This is refreshing, after years of seeing futuristic cities in the style of Halo or Mass Effect.

All right, I decided to create my first starships! They aren't very functional yet, as I built them solely for the aesthetics. Here's the Lil' Fighter. It is basically my own version of the already in-game fighters made by Stardock: Here's the Larissa Class, my Millennium Falcon: <
