I Actually have MANY sketches and ideas for aliens! the problems is... i don't know how to mod [e digicons]XD[/e]
Hopefully, with Stardock's plans, you won't have to know how to mod!

6) I always thought it would be cool to have a race that doesn't show up on any kind of scanner that your ship may have. When you arrive at their world, it just appears empty and no dialogue comes up. When you scan their world, no mineral, bio or energy signatures show up. The planet is an empty, desolate place , with no reason to fly your lander down there to investigate. Most people would just gloss right over it! However, for some kind of trade (maybe with the twin bounty hunters,
You come across what appears to be a well "worn" ship bristling with weapons. When you make contact, you meet Rigel and Cairne. These two bounty hunters try to enlist you in helping them. By helping them they will pay you in information, resources and "less than legal" or "prototype" tech for your ship. Helping them can both help and hurt you. While they for the most part are on the up and up, you will realize they work with a&nb
EDIT: I just realised i would want this alien race to resemble felines, so the conversation can contain comic gold such as: "It looks like you are experiencing some kind of CAT-astrophy" [e digicons]:P[/e]
Haha! If it's a disease... "Are you guys not feline well these days?"
I'd like to chime in and say that I absolutely love this idea. I'd contribute ideas to the post, but seeing as one of the GDDs I'm working on right now is a game in the same vein as Star Control with a bit of Sins, I should probably keep them under wraps for now [e digicons];P[/e] 2) is easily my favorite because of my love of post-apocalyptic scenarios. But I'd really enjoy an option to
................. okay! Everyone, start with #4 of aliens you're going to create in your mods :P Vaelzad's the boss.
Let's start a mega-thread on all the best Alien IDEAS we can come up with for Star Control. I'm not talking design, or name, or what they look like. I'm talking specifically about the players interaction WITH them! I'm sure we've all been kicking around "cool ideas" for decades, so spit them out here!! To start off with, here are a few I've been formulating for years: 1) You come across a race that's currently in hibernation. All their cities,
Quoting cuorebrave, reply 28 Awkbird and Lone_Utwig - I think what you're not really getting is the fact that Star Control 2 was an arcade-shooter. Its combat isn't going to be Elite:Dangerous or Star Citizen, or practically any other game out there. It's fun
Quoting Lone_Utwig, reply 22 What do you all (including devs) think about introducing some classic stuff like shield, armor, crew (health) scheme. Some ships might have more armor, others - shield, some might have none oe each and etc. +1. I have attempted to
^ I read your post and it made complete sense. Every time a dot disappears, the player should feel like a little piece of his heart just been torn out. Every time a dot disappears he/she should die a little inside. [e digicons][/e] They don't have to be dots. They can be little hearts for all I care. You never gonna get that feeling with fat bars that represent multiple number of people. <br /
Also, Hunam and I are the same person. :P Dude, how is it that crew dots are so important to both of us? Such a seemingly small thing!
There hasn't been an update YET that has brought a single, twinkling tear to my eye..... before this one. I can't even communicate how much faith this update has given me. Where to even start? I put on that music while laying in bed last night, next to my wife, and while she was incredibly confused as to why I was playing 90's chiptunes at 12:00am, I didn't care! My soul was soaring through the space nebulae, in my precursor vessel, off to meet new and interesting alie
It's bedtime, but I'll edit this post tomorrow with my thoughts. This update makes me all teary-eyed!
YES. That's the bargaining chip we have - May update, or we will GUIDE THE DEVELOPMENT of the new Star Control DIRECTLY down the Star Control 3 path!! We'll make post after post of: "Stardock, please include basic colonization of planets and puppets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCR will be best game EVARRRRR!!!"
I believe the aliens so far are looking good. Just because we see them in a preview doesn't mean we will now the entire context of their existence within the game. I believe being a founder makes the wait worth it. We get to have influence on the game and beyond a doubt that is cool. The cover art for SC 1 at the time was great and I think it represented the spirit of the game well. The cover are for SC was great as we
You've got 12 hours, or we riot! :P Come on! It's my favorite part of the whole month!
I guess I didn't necessarily assume water as in H2O, maybe some other form of liquid. But now that I see the gif, I probably did think it was water all those years ago... Maybe. Haha And, what a weird thing to put on the Star Control II cover! Really? They greenlit a depiction of their main badguy that looks LITERALLY nothing like the Urquan, to go on the cover!! Look at those eyes! You know, it may be just rumor, but I read somewhere that they bought
Quoting cuorebrave, reply 8 You know, it kinda makes me wish I didn't get involved in the Founder's Program, because we'll KNOW all the aliens and mysteries before we meet them in-game. So this is actually something we

What about THIS guy!? Look at all those teeth! Who's HE compare to in the new game?! :P Also, did you really get "aquatic" from the ORZ? Maybe I'm insane, and maybe not remembering right, but I didn't think all that blue in their ship-screen was water! Set me straight, please. Either way, you're right, the alien design and d
We're not raking anyone over the coals. It's called criticism, and it's the reason for the founder's program's existence. This is a problem for me and many other people - including my daughter who randomly just said, after seeing the original YCTH alien, "Ooh! Baby shows!" and my son said, "Noo... That looks too cartoony."
The most interesting thing to me in the April update was the silhouette of the ship that is 3 pieces not connected together, there are so many different things that I could do with that I can't even begin to try and guess what they might be doing with that. There are a lot of really cool things that ship might do. I like the little alien as a concept, but he seems incomplete. Like a "flat" original series Star Tr
