There are some basic quastions for which I hope somebody can advise! I want to create completely new icon by clicking file>new>icon. What I see is the screen which looks a bit like the board of minesweeper or to paint by numbers type grid with belonging utilities like paint brush, paint bucket, eraser, palette etc. I assume that inside this grid I'm not able to develop (create) fine shining icons with all shades beacuse I do not seee the clear image but a lot of pixels which do not clear

Travis the Kong! Since you're the only one who is willing to give me a hand the following is ment: The standard appearance (shape) of the top panel is some 15 mm wide and some 80 mm long). To change this appearance to different like for expl. top panel of the start menu referenced to skins: M3 BlueGlass (which has some kind of window inside the top panel) or WB Skin "Storm" or WB skin Fireglass.I just want to change the standard XP top panel of the start menu to similar of the skin

Thanks to everybody for good advise. What I ment is something practical not the bare theory. One can't drive the car learning from the book. BoXXi! It's good to know that you can count on someones help! Thanks a lot!! The fact is that I'm very beginner and try to go step by step. Your skin CarbonFibre is still my favourite skin and I dont want to miss it. So I tried to change it little bit for myself. Anyhow I'm stuck although reading the tutorials in some place like changing to colours of the top panel in the start menu which is black.

I'm trying to create my first WB skin. So far I'm prepared but would like to know: If I start without finishing the skin (I don't want to loose it) in which place can I save it? Do I have to create a ZIP folder or just save it in any place of the PC as it is? To restart the creation I assume I had to reopen the skin studio and double click on the folder I've created?!Am I right? I Have downloaded ObjectDock and have created icons on the top of the desktop. Furthermore I have disabled the appearance of Windows start menu and systray. If shooting down the pc I have to go back resp. enable the start menu of Windows and shut down. But how do I shut down the PC directly from ObjectDoc? Thanks! badblueboy
